Leimlösungen, Dextrine, pflanzliche Harze, Tragant, Zellulosederivate, Alginate, Pektine, Salze der Acrylsäure und Methacrylsäure, Mischpolymerisate von Acryisäure, Methacrylsäure, Acrylnitril, Acrylsaureester, Styrol, Vinylacetat, Polyvinylalkohol usw. In neuerer Zeit wurden n-Vinyllactame bzw.-säureamide (z. B. Polyvinylpyrrolidon) (vgl.

Preparations for making a corsage for human hair
It is well known that the surface of human hair is changed by the deposition of high polymer substances. The aim of these measures is to give the hair a higher mechanical strength through corsage, which results in longer durability of the hairstyle, to make the hair less sensitive to external influences and, as a styling aid in hairdressing practice, it can be inserted To make it easier for the hair to complete the hairstyle. At the same time, these agents are intended to improve the appearance of the hair in terms of shine, grip, combability, etc.
In principle, these effects are comparable to the finishing effect known from textile practice. In the professional world, these agents are used as hair lacquer, liquid hairnet, embedding agents, agents for stabilizing a water wave or for extending the durability of a permanent wave (cf. British Patent No. 747806).
To achieve these effects, a large number of substances have been proposed, such as. B.
Glue solutions, dextrins, vegetable resins, tragacanth, cellulose derivatives, alginates, pectins, salts of acrylic acid and methacrylic acid, copolymers of acrylic acid, methacrylic acid, acrylonitrile, acrylic acid esters, styrene, vinyl acetate, polyvinyl alcohol, etc. More recently, n-vinyl lactams or acid amides ( e.g. polyvinylpyrrolidone) (cf. DP document number 873891) and copolymers of acrylic acid and methacrylic acid esters with acrylonitrile, acrylamides, vinyl alkyl ketones or vinyl alkyl compounds, which are then saponified until they are soluble in water. DAS No. 1015193).
Attempts have also been made to tint the hair by using high-polymer film formers together with dyes. achieve [cf. E. Sagarin, Cosmetics, Science and Technology, Interscience Publ., Inc., N.Y., p. 489 (1957)].
The fixing agents according to the cited literature reference can be of different types and are based on shellac, ethylcellulose or polyvinylpyrrolidone.
ARe hitherto proposed means for coloring fixing the hair are either water-soluble, such as. B. the polyvinylpyrrolidone, or the polyme risate z. B. the acrylic acid series; In other words, a corsage made from them on the hair swells when there is a high level of moisture in the air, becomes sticky and can be easily washed off, or they have a high level of abrasion resistance, such as B. Shellac, which means they are pulverized and lying as. gray sheen on the hair.
While the hairstyle is stabilized for a while with the help of these substances in general, the properties in terms of shine, manageability, grip, abrasion resistance and durability are inadequate.
It has surprisingly been found that films on human hair with excellent abrasion resistance and thus durability over a longer period of time can be obtained if polymeric, film-forming products with basic or cationic groups are used. Substances can also be used in which, in addition to the cation-active groups, there are also anion-active groups, but the cation-active component must then be present in excess.
The agents according to the invention can be polymers of z. B. contain the following substances:
Vinylpyridine and its derivatives, esters of aoryl acid and methacrylic acid with amino alcohols and their derivatives, vinylimidazole, ethyleneimine, copolymers of these nitrogenous compounds with other polymerizable substances.
The compounds are characterized by a content of quaternizable atoms, such as. B. nitrogen, sulfur or phosphorus. The basic character of the compounds is decisive for their usability as a finishing agent, which must be so pronounced that the polymer compound is capable of forming salts with inorganic and organic acids. A nitrogen-containing product, such as B. polyvinylpyrrolidone, this ability to salt formation practically does not and is therefore not encompassed by the invention.
The substances according to the invention can be present both as free bases and as salts with inorganic and organic acids. Furthermore, these products can advantageously be used as genuinely quaternized compounds, obtainable e.g. B. by Quatefrnisierung with alkyl sulfates or alkyl halides. While the free bases are mostly only soluble in organic solvents, the salts and the quaternized products are in most cases sufficiently soluble in water, the latter often even in the alkaline pH range. The compounds described are distinguished by their very strong substantivity to human hair.
The associated adhesive strength of the corset to the hair at the same time has the effect that the adhesion of the hair to one another is significantly reduced and therefore excellent manageability and grip are obtained. The so-called “dusting” when combing through is also absent. With the help of this body class, hair varnishes, embedding agents, shape stabilizing agents, hair setting agents, etc. can therefore be produced which are clearly superior to the previously known preparations which do not contain the substances according to the invention.
The good abrasion resistance also enables these products to be used as binders for coloring or tinting hair. While the tinting agent has to be washed off after a certain exposure time with the hitherto customary tints, with the help of these products it is possible to leave the dye on the hair without rinsing, without soiling of clothes or pillows. The cheapest binders and dyes as well as the proportions are to be determined in each individual case depending on the desired depth and shade of color. The application of this principle of coloring can be used both as a ¸t¯sing emulsion¯, t¯t¯ hairdressing cream or as a spray preparation with a hand sprayer.
Propellants take place as an aerosol.
It has already been proposed for this purpose to use shellac or polyvinyl chloride as a binder, but practice has shown that these prepanates do not have the abrasion resistance required for a sufficiently permanent tinting. The abrasion resistance of the corsage according to the invention compared to that corresponding to the prior art can be determined under standardized conditions as follows:
4.0 ml each of a solution of
0.5 g resin substance (polymeric film former)
0.05 g cellitonech red GG (C.
J. 11 210)
60.0 g isopropanol
40.0 g of water are well distributed on strands of hair weighing 2.5 g, combed through and squeezed off with a clamp with the same tension, so that the same amount of preparation always remains on the strands. It is dried by hanging in the air for 3 days. The hair prepared in this way can be checked for fastness using the universal rub fastness tester according to Dr. Reputation according to DIN 53 959 can be examined.
The stains then obtained on the nettle cloth as a result of abrasion at 0.5 atom and the same rubbing path (40 back and forth movements) are directly comparable through the coloring, because the compared agents always have the same dye concentration.
A test of the abrasion resistance I. of the agents according to the invention and II. Of the agents corresponding to the prior art was carried out under these conditions. The agents under I (AD) correspond to Examples 1-4 and the agents under II (EI) were produced according to the work instructions described in the following literature: E DP -schrift No. 873891, example 1 F DAS No. 1015193, example 4 (dry matter) G DAS No. 1009 807, Example 5 H British. Patent No. 747806, Example 1 I Fred Winter Handbook of all perfumery and cosmetics, Springer-Verlag, Vienna
1952, p. 534 hair lacquers.
The comparison tests of the masking strength. it had the following result, again schematically recorded in the table below:
The hair samples treated with the agents A-D show very little abrasion, which can be recognized by the color, while the hair samples treated with the agents E-I show, in contrast, a noticeably strong abrasion.
