Description

Hydraulic circuit for cooling the engine of a vehicle In main patent N 367006, a hydraulic circuit for cooling the engine of a vehicle has been described which comprises a coolant tank. expansion placed at a cooled point of the vehicle located lower than the high point of the circuit.

The present invention relates to a hydraulic cooling circuit as defined above and which is characterized in that the expansion vessel is placed inside one of the wings adjacent to the engine in the upper part of this. wing and back of the wheel.

This position is advantageous because said vessel is protected from heat radiation from the engine by a canopy sheet and from solar radiation by the wing of the car; it is also well ventilated by the air circulating in the wheel arch, and it is not located at an excessive distance from the radiator.

The appended drawing shows, by way of example, an embodiment of the hydraulic circuit applied to a front engine car.

Fig. 1 is a partial sectional view of the circuit in an axial direction of the car, along arrow 1 of FIG. 2.

Fig. 2 is a side view of the same circuit, along arrow II of the. fig. 1.

In the drawing, 101 is the expansion tank, 103 the radiator, 102 the pipe connecting the tank to the radiator, 108 the front wheel in the passage of which the tank is mounted, this passage being limited by the cowl plate 105 and wing 106.

This expansion vessel 101 is made up of two # mid-shells 1011 and 1012 welded together and the outer flanged edges of which are provided with buttonholes 107 for its fixing by means of bolts 1071.

It is connected, in a sealed manner, at its lower part, to the tubing 102.

It is also connected, at its upper part, to a pressure-vacuum valve 104 opening into the engine compartment.

The purpose of this valve is, on the one hand, to avoid an excessively high overpressure in the cooling circuit in the event of abnormal heating of the circuit (for construction reasons, the maximum value of this overpressure has been set at approximately 650 g / cm2), on the other hand it prevents too strong a depression, occurring during cooling,

disturb the correct functioning of the water pump and the calorstat (this value may be from -50 to -70 g / cm2).

During assembly, the radiator and the pipe 102 are completely filled with water and the expansion tank is filled to a quarter of its height. The filler cap is then sealed.
