Adjustment device for margin stops on typewriters or accounting machines The invention relates to an adjustment device to be operated from the keyboard. for margin stops on auxiliary-powered typewriters or accounting machines, with a setting link for unlocking and holding the margin stops when ver put the same on the rack and a lock for the control buttons.
At typewriters and other writing office machines is the setting of stops for the paper cart, such. B. margin stops in various optional positions, essential to achieve a flawless typeface. In most cases, this process is carried out on non-power-driven machines by simply moving the marginal stopper that is latching on a rack by hand. A simplification of this process has already been achieved by the fact that the marginal positioners are adjusted by actuating an operating element provided on the paper trolley or on the keyboard.
However, these facilities each need a special key both for setting and adjusting the margin stops and for lifting the margin. In order to bring the paper trolley into the necessary position in which the stop is to hit the counter stop of the margin stop, several and very cumbersome handles are neces sary. To avoid these disadvantages, it has become known to increase the setting or adjustment of the margin stops reliably and faster by operating means to be operated from the keyboard. But here too, for each process, entry and
Adjusting the margin stops (setting margin) and removing the margin limit (releasing margin) in the event that this is to be exceeded, a special button each is required. The invention makes it possible to carry out these processes with only one button, namely because this button is connected via lever and linkage to a setting lever which is mounted on a shaft provided with a stop block, the stop block also via lever and linkage acts on a switch which controls the circuit for an electromagnet, the armature of which is connected by means of a tension member with a locking lever acting on a ball lock.
The advantage of this device is that a pulling member is provided between the two lever systems, which keeps the two lever systems in the active connection dependent on the button, so that when the button is pressed, the switch is off when the margin stop is exceeded and when adjusting however, turns on.
In view of the small amount of available space in the increasingly crowded type of typewriter, the use of only one key for the various functions is of particular importance.
An embodiment of the subject matter of the invention is shown in the drawing and shows an adjusting device in the locked position.
The key 1 provided for setting the margin stops and removing the margin (margin setting and margin release) is hinged to the free end of the key lever la with an angle lever 2 arranged on an axis 2a and a link 1b mounted on the axis 27. On the free arm of the angle lever 2, a pull wire 3a is provided, which is articulated to another, on an axis 3b rotatably mounted th angle lever 3. A pull wire 4a further connects the angle lever 3 to an angle lever 4 that can be rotated about an axis 4b.
This angle lever 4: is connected on its free arm to a rod 5, the upper end of which abuts against a stop 6c of a rod 6. This rod 6 is articulated to one on a shaft 7a store the setting lever 7, on whose arm 7b a tension spring 6a is attached. The arm 7c of the setting lever 7 has at its free end a right-angled bend 7d which is provided with a turkey-shaped recess 8. On the rack 11 of the paper carriage, not shown in detail, there is the displaceable margin stop 10a consisting of the slide 9 and the housing 10.
The slide 9 has a bead 9 a on the upwardly directed side, which corresponds to the shape of the recess 8 of the setting lever 7. On the shaft 7a, in addition to the setting lever 7, a stop block 13 is attached by means of a screw 13b at the same time. The free end of the stop block 13 is provided with a beveled projection 13 a which cooperates with a projection 12 seen on the edge plate 10 before.
The rod 6 has a bend 6b which comes to lie under a pin 15a of a transmission member 15 and interacts with the pin 15a when the rod 6 moves. The transmission element 15, which is fastened to a rod 16 by means of a screw 15e, is provided with two lateral bends 15b and 15c, through which the vertical rod 16 passes and is held by a spring 15d so that
that the pin 15a rests on the lateral bend 6b. At the upper end of the rod 16, a pin 16a is arranged, which is in active connection with a driver 14. This driver 14 is also fastened by means of a screw 14a on the shaft 7a be.
The free end of the driver 14 is shaped like a fork and the legs 14b, 14e formed in this way are twisted in such a way that the pin 16a of the rod 16 is encompassed from above and below and thus either a pull or a pressure is exerted on the pin 16a and thus inevitably the rod 16 is moved up or down.
Under the transmission member 15, a two-armed lever 17 is arranged on an axis 17d, one end of which has a slot 17c and at the other end of which a right-angled bend 17a is provided. The arrangement is such that the slot 17c encompasses the pin 15a of the transmission element 15. The bend 17a of the lever 17 is in operative connection with a push rod 18 guided in a slot 18a, which in turn is connected via a pull wire 25 to an angle lever 4 rotatably arranged on an axis 4b.
For receiving and attaching the pull wire 25 to the angle lever 4 and the push rod 18, an elongated hole 18b is seen in this, in which the bent end 25a of the pull wire 25 slides, while above this elongated hole 18b a mounted on an axis 19a angle lever 19 is movable on the push rod 18 is arranged. The angle lever 19 also has a right-angled bend 19b which temporarily acts on a switch 20, with which the circuit to an electromagnet 21 is controlled. The push rod 18 and the angle lever 19 are both connected to one another by a spring 26 attached to their lower ends.
The armature 21a belonging to the electromagnet 21 is connected by means of a pull wire 21b to a locking lever 23 rotatably mounted on an axis 27 to which a tension spring 22 is attached, the locking lever 23 being drawn into a row of balls 24 depending on the position of the armature 21a can be pushed out.
The mode of operation is as follows: For the setting or adjustment of the edge plates 10 (setting the edge) on the toothed rack 11 provided for this purpose, it is initially necessary to use the paper trolley not shown, the rack 11 with the edge plate 10 carrying the paper trolley on the edge plate 10 provided projection 12 in to stop position with the stop block 13 to bring gen. Then, by pressing the button 1 on the angle lever 2, 3 and 4, the rod 5 and the rod 6 provided with the bent stop 6c ver is moved upwards.
The set lever 7 articulated to the upper end of the rod 6 executes a rotary movement around the shaft 7a, so that the turkey-shaped recess 8 provided at its free end engages the bead 9a of the slide 9 and thus presses the slide 9 downward. so that the margin plate 10a comes out of engagement with the teeth of the rack 11 in a known manner. By moving the paper carriage so that the margin plate 10a can be brought into the ge desired position.
If during the writing process the edge actuator 10a hits with its projection 12 against the beveled projection 13a of the stop block 13, the stop block 13 is pressed down so that the shaft 7a with the driver 14 attached to it executes a clockwise rotation. During this movement, the rod 16 is lifted upward by the leg 14c via the pin 16a and also has a movement of the transmission member 15 as a result.
The attached to the transmission member 15, guided in the slot 17c of the two-armed lever 17 pin 15a pivots the lever 17 mounted on the axis 17d counterclockwise so that the bend 17a acts on the push rod 18 guided in the slot 18a in such a way that that the right-angled bend 19b of the angle lever 19 articulated on the push rod 18 comes out of the area of the switch 20 and this opens the water so that the power supply to the electromagnet 21 is interrupted.
By interrupting the circuit of the arranged on the axis 27 locking lever 23 is pulled ge as a result of the tensile force of the spring 22 in the ball row 24, whereby the entire keyboard is locked and pressing the other keys is made impossible.
If the previously described block is to be canceled for the purpose of exceeding L (edge release), key 1 must also be pressed. The rotary movement acting on the setting lever 7 by this pressing remains irrelevant, since the edge plate 10 itself is not moved. By moving the angle lever 4 counterclockwise, which also occurs as a result of the actuation of the button 1, the push rod 18 is brought out of contact with the bend 17a of the lever 17 by the pull wire 25.
The angle lever 19 performs a movement in the counterclockwise direction under the action of the spring 26, so that the bend 19b comes into contact with the switch 20 and thus closes the circuit. The power supply to the electromagnet 21 is thus established and the armature 21a is moved in the direction of the arrow A and the locking lever 23, which can be pivoted about the axis 27 and is connected to the armature 21a by means of pull wire 21b, is pushed out of the row of balls 24 so that the keyboard is now back is released.
