B. Uformite F 210, F 266 E, F 240 ON, MM-47 ; Reckamine 3520 , Beetle 220-8 , Melmac 245-8 , Resimene 877, 878, 883 , Plaskon 3382 usw.
Als geeignet seien aufgezählt: die Ammonium-, Mor- pholin-, Mono-, Di- und Triäthanolamin- oder Alkali salze der Fettsäuren mit 10 bis 22 C-Atomen, bei spielsweise der Undecylen-, Laurin-, Pahnitin-, Stearin-, Ölsäure usw.; oxyfettsaure Salze, insbeson dere solche, die sich vom Ricinusöl ableiten; Salze von mehrfach ungesättigten Fettsäuren, wie der Fett säuren aus Leinöl, Sojabohnenöl, Fischöl usw.;
<I>A.</I> Acryllatex, hergestellt durch Copolymerisation der drei genannten Acrylverbindungen in beispielsweise folgendem Ver hältnis: <I>Ansatz:</I> 30 Teile Acrylnitril, rnonomere Form 5 Methacrylsäure, monomere Form 65 Acrylsäurebutylester, monomere Form, ferner 0,5 Laurylalkoholsulfonat, Na-Salz 200 Wasser 0,1 Natriumbisulfit und 0,3 Kaliumpersulfat.

Pigment-containing printing pastes or padding liquors in the form of an oil-in-water emulsion for printing or padding textile fabrics. It has been found that valuable, pigment-containing printing pastes or padding liquors are obtained in the form of an oil-in-water emulsion, which works very well Suitable for printing and padding textiles if the following components are combined:
1. a pigment in aqueous dispersion, 2. an emulsified, water-insoluble, heat-curable amino-aldehyde resin dissolved in an organic solvent, 3. an aqueous dispersion of an acrylic copolymer, as is achieved by polymerizing a monomer mixture, 30 to 80 parts of acrylonitrile per 100 parts,
2 to 15 parts of an a-unsaturated aliphatic monocarboxylic acid and 15 to 65 parts of an ester of such an acid with a saturated aliphatic, monohydric alcohol with a maximum of 8 carbon atoms is obtainable, 4. an emulsified, water-insoluble, organic solvent, preferably Mineral Spirits, 5. an alkali, 6. a dispersing z.
B. emulsifier and 7. a protective colloid, whereby it is ensured that the amount of acrylic copolymer is one to five times the pigment and the amino-aldehyde resin in an amount of 5 to 30 liters of the Acrylco: polyme.ri, sates is present. This information is based on the dry weight of the individual substances. The use of the acrylic copolymer in such dye preparations and the specially selected ratios for the composition are new.
These copolymers are known per se (see, for example, British Patent No. 761928, in particular Example 4, which represents a preferred embodiment).
A monomer mixture containing 30 to 80 parts of acrylonitrile, 2 to 15 parts of an α-unsaturated aliphatic monocarboxylic acid and 15 to 65 parts of an ester of such an acid with a saturated, aliphatic, monohydric alcohol with a maximum of 8 carbon atoms per 100 parts , is polymerized in an aqueous medium, customary catalysts being added.
After the reaction has ended, any residues of the monomers that may remain can be removed by blowing out the. Since the polymerization is carried out in the presence of emulsifiers, an emulsion with water is obtained as the continuous phase at the end. This latex can optionally be concentrated, as is customary for latices.
As unsaturated aliphatic carboxylic acids according to definition, z. B. acrylic acid, crotonic acids, methacrylic acid, ethyl acrylic acid, phenyl acrylic acid, etc. into consideration. Their esters with alcohols of the formula C "Hzn + l. OH are known. Here, n denotes a number from 1 to B.
The preferred combination consists of acrylonitrile, methacrylic acid and butyl acrylate with 30 to 50 parts of acrylonitrile.
The amino-aldehyde resin, which is used at the same time as the acrylic copolymer, must be insoluble in water and soluble in organic solvents. It comes in the form of such solutions. It is preferred to choose those resins which, after curing, are as insoluble as possible in the solvents used for chemical washing (dry cleaning).
Particularly suitable amino-aldehyde resins are the resins of formaldehyde and urea or melamine and their mixed condensation products, such as urea melamine-formaldehyde resins, and the alkylated, for example butylated, urea and melamine-formaldehyde resins, which are preferred .
Before they are used, they are converted into emulsion form in the customary manner in the form of their solutions in organic solvents which are immiscible with water, for which purpose emulsifiers and, if appropriate, protective colloids are also used. Commercial products,
which contain between 50 and 60% resins in solvents such as butanol, caprylic alcohol, xylene, cellosolve, butyl cellosolve, mineral spirits, naphtha, etc. and their mixtures are z.
B. Uformite F 210, F 266 E, F 240 ON, MM-47; Reckamine 3520, Beetle 220-8, Melmac 245-8, Resimene 877, 878, 883, Plaskon 3382, etc. (registered trademarks).
Small amounts of water-soluble amino-aldehyde resins can also be used in addition to the water-insoluble resins, but this is only possible in special cases. In general, the water-soluble resins tend to make the combination of substances less stable (with the risk of premature flocculation of the pigments) and to influence the viscosity rather unfavorably.
Water-insoluble, organic solvents which are also present in emulsion form in the combination according to the present invention are: aromatic hydrocarbons, such as toluene and xylene; High flash point naphtha; Octyl acetate; Terpene hydrocarbons such as turpentine; but especially suitable petroleum fractions, such as petroleum naphtha and mineral spirits etc.
Solvents with a flash point of at least 27 are preferred for safety reasons.
The dispersants (generally surface-active agents) serve to disperse the pigments, such as the acrylic copolymers, the amino-aldehyde resins and the water-insoluble, organic solvents.
The following are listed as suitable: the ammonium, morpholine, mono-, di- and triethanolamine or alkali salts of fatty acids with 10 to 22 carbon atoms, for example the undecylene, lauric, pahnitic, stearic, Oleic acid, etc .; oxy-fatty acid salts, especially those derived from castor oil; Salts of polyunsaturated fatty acids such as the fatty acids from linseed oil, soybean oil, fish oil, etc .;
Fatty alcohol sulfonates, that is, salts of lauryl, cetyl, stearyl, oleyl sulfuric acids; Salts of alkyl aryl sulfonic acids and their condensation products, eg. B. with formaldehyde; nonionic compounds, such as the polyoxyethylene derivatives of fatty acids, fatty alcohol and alkylphenols, z. B. nonylphenol.
Suitable protective colloids are: especially methyl celluloses (15 to 7000 cps.) And casein; also albumins, gelatine, glue, carboxymethyl cellulose, starch and their derivatives, alginic acid salts, dextrin, polyacrylic acid salts, polyvinyl alcohol, etc.
Inorganic and mostly organic pigments are suitable as pigments, as are customary in pigment printing. They are used in aqueous dispersion and are usually produced in a known manner from dye press cakes. With the help of suitable surface-active agents, it is possible to achieve the necessary deflocculation, most effectively through grinding treatment. The addition of protective colloids is intended to ensure the stability of the dispersions achieved, since it is important that the disaggregation achieved is retained until the preparations are used on the textiles.
The alkali used to adjust the pH of the acrylic copolymers, which are acidic per se, is primarily ammonia and its derivatives, such as triethanolamine, but also other bases or acid-binding compounds.
The pigment-containing compositions of matter according to the present invention are for practical reasons (claims of consumers with regard to the adjustment of the color strength of the preparations) generally not made from the individual components, but from auxiliary preparations, in the present case from an aqueous pigment dispersion, a binding agent Emulsion, which is composed differently depending on the intended use - printing or padding - and an oil-in-water carrier emulsion (solvent).
The binder emulsion provides the film formers required to fix the pigment on the fiber, while the carrier emulsion has more of the task of serving as an extender to adjust the variable pigment concentration without changing the viscosity of the pigment preparation.
The production of these auxiliary preparations, which combine to produce the pigment-containing compositions of matter according to the present invention, will first be described.
<I> A. </I> Acrylic latex, produced by copolymerization of the three acrylic compounds mentioned in the following ratio, for example: <I> Approach: </I> 30 parts of acrylonitrile, monomeric form 5 methacrylic acid, monomeric form 65 butyl acrylate, monomeric form, furthermore 0.5 lauryl alcohol sulfonate, sodium salt 200 water 0.1 sodium bisulfite and 0.3 potassium persulfate.
The polymerization is carried out in a known manner, as it is, for. B. is described in English Patent No. 761928.
Instead of methacrylic acid, other aliphatic carboxylic acids unsaturated in the α-position can be used, such as, for example, acrylic, ethylacrylic, phenylacrylic or a crotonic acid. Instead of the butyl acrylate, other esters with alcohols up to 8 carbon atoms can be used, such as. B. the methyl, ethyl, octyl ester, etc.
The other abovementioned α-unsaturated carboxylic acids can also be used as acid components of these esters.
Variations of the three components: Copolymers according to the following compositions are most suitable: Acrylonitrile 30 to 80 parts of α-unsaturated acid 2 to 15 Esters of this acid 15 to 65

<tb> 100 <SEP> parts These pastes are used to produce prints on textiles using the usual methods; these are dried over heated copper cylinders and heated to 150 for 8 minutes.
The prints with the preparations according to Examples 1 and 2 (with phthalocyanine blue) gave superior wet fastness properties and higher resistance to yellowing under the fadeometer compared to comparative preparations which instead of the three-component copolymer contained that of acrylonitrile and butadiene. In the alternating exposure and washing test, they withstand a 120-hour exposure,
followed by a scrub wash test; the comparison prints gave way after 40 hours of exposure and were completely destroyed after 120 hours. - Of the green, red, yellow and violet dyes mentioned above, the lightfastness of the green one was by far the best; the binder film was practically unchanged in all prints even after exposure for 120 hours.
If the carrier emulsions E and F in the above examples are replaced by those according to the variants E1 to E 7 and the prints on textiles obtained with these printing preparations are heated for 6 minutes to 1501 ", then excellent results are also obtained Results: It can be stated that preparations with ammonium salts of fatty alcohol sulfonates are somewhat superior to those with sodium salts.
The prints were best in the strict wash test with E7, as well as in the alternating exposure and scrub wash test. The outstanding brilliance of the prints and the good feel of the printed textiles are striking.
<I> Example 3 </I> 10 parts of pigment dispersion G, 17 parts of acrylic latex A, 70 parts of carrier emulsion F3 each and this is made up to 100 parts by adding 3 parts of a) BMF resin with 50 / 0, soy lecithin b) BUF resin with 5% soy lecithin c) MF (melamine-formaldehyde) resin, 60% aqueous solution d)
UF (urea formaldehyde) resin, 60% aqueous solution. The color yield of samples 3a and 3b is the best. If the prints are heated to 150 for 8 minutes, the fastness properties of all tests are consistently good. The printing pastes 3a and 3b can be stored unchanged for 3 months at room temperature.

<tb> 100 <SEP> parts <SEP> 100 <SEP> parts Following the examples, it should be indicated how the printing pastes and the binder and carrier emulsions are composed numerically in their best embodiments.
The specified parts are parts by weight and relate to non-volatile (dry weight) components. <I> Printing pastes </I> For 100 parts of the paste, they advantageously contain 0.05 to 4 parts of pigment, 3.5 to 10 parts of binder (film former), of which 3 to 9 parts are acrylic latex A and 0.4 to 2.5 Parts of amino-aldehyde resin, 0.7 to 2 surface-active agents, of which 0.3 to 1.3 parts of fatty alcohol sulfonate, 0.5 to 1.5 parts of protective colloids, of which 0.25 to 0,
8 parts of methyl cellulose (0 to 0.6% low and 0.15 to 0.3 parts of high viscosity quality) and 0.3 to 0.7 parts of casein.
For 100 parts of pigment in the paste there are advantageously 273 to 570 parts of binder, of which 230 to 480 parts of acrylic latex A and 43 to 90 parts of amino aldehyde resin, 57 to 125 parts of surface-active agents and 42 to 84 parts of protective colloids, of which 30 to 38 Parts of highly viscous methyl cellulose and 20 to 54 parts of casein.
Binding emulsions For 100 parts of emulsions they advantageously contain: 30 to 33% binder, of which 19 to 300/9 acrylic latex A and 3.4 to 6.7 "/ o, amino-aldehyde resin, 2.25 to <B > 5.70 / 0 </B> surface-active agents, of which 0.29 to 4.10 / a fatty alcohol sulfonate and 1.2 to <B> 1.501o </B> casein.
For 100 parts of non-volatile parts in acrylic latex A, 5 to 28 parts of amino-aldehyde resin, 1 to 5 parts of casein and 5 to 24 parts of surface-active agent, of which 3 to 17 parts are fatty alcohol sulfonate, are calculated.
Is the ammonium salt of a fatty alcohol sulfonate in the binder in addition to an in org. Solvent-soluble melamine-formaldehyde resin is present, its amounts are best as 8 to 60 to 100.
Carrier emulsions For 100 parts of emulsion they advantageously contain: 50 to 60 parts of mineral spirits, 2.3 to 4 parts of acrylic latex A, 0.4 to 1 part of amino-aldehyde resin, 0.2 to 0.5 parts of casein, 0 , 7 to 2.5 parts of surface-active agents, of which 0.35 to 2.1 parts of fatty alcohol sulfonate and 0.5 to 0.8 parts of protective colloids, of which 0.2 to 0.3 parts of highly viscous methyl cellulose.
If an ammonium salt of the fatty alcohol sulfonate is present in addition to melamine-formaldehyde resin, which is soluble in organic solvents, their amounts are best as 80 to 100 to 100.
For every 100 non-volatile parts in acrylic latex A, 12 to 28 parts of amino-aldehyde resin, 16 to 22 parts of protective colloids, of which 7 to 10 parts of highly viscous methyl cellulose and 5 to 14 parts of casein, 16 to 28 parts of surface-active agents, of which 11 to 17 parts fatty alcohol sulfonate. Binder and carrier emulsions together behave in their components in relation to 100 parts of acrylic latex A (solid) advantageously as follows:
5 to 30 parts of amino-aldehyde resin, 5 to 28 parts of surface-active agents, of which 2 to 17 parts of fatty alcohol sulfonate. And 0.5 to 22 parts of protective colloids, of which 0.5 to 14 parts of casein.
The pigment-containing preparations according to the present invention are outstandingly suitable for use in accordance with conventional technology and provide applications on textiles which exceed the previously known preparations in most fastness properties. The lightfastness of the film and:
its fastness properties in the strict, repeated washing test (hand washing or scrubbing test using washboards and stiff bristle brushes), even after very long exposure times.
