<Desc/Clms Page number 2>
<Desc/Clms Page number 3>

Device for preheating fine-grained material, in particular raw cement meal, which is then burned or sintered in a kiln. Known systems for preheating fine-grained material, in particular cement raw meal, which is then burned or sintered in a kiln, consist of several cyclones, which are preferably arranged one above the other and connected to one another in such a way that kiln exhaust gases are sucked through the individual cyclones by means of a fan,
wherein the dust discharge pipes of the higher cyclones in each case einmün into the gas flow leading to the lower cyclone. For the suspension of the individual cyclones you have one: correspondingly large. Scaffolding required and the cyclones arranged, for example, in two rows, the cyclones of each row are offset from one another in such a way that a cyclone of the one row is arranged at the level of the gap that remains between two cyclones of the neighboring row.
The exhaust pipe of each cyclone was first led vertically up and then approximately horizontally to the nearest cyclone, with the dust discharge pipes of the higher cyclone opening into the exhaust pipe of the lower cyclone. As a result of the staggered arrangement of the individual cyclones, devices of this type have a considerable overall height, especially if several cyclones have to be arranged one above the other to take advantage of an existing thermal gradient in the exhaust gases.
Another shortcoming of the known systems is the use of the numerous elbows which have to be cleaned very often, for which the entire system must be shut down.
The invention completely eliminates the disadvantages outlined by all cyclones according to the invention on a common, vertical main shaft, z. B. are connected to a common vertical main pipe, in the lower end of which the exhaust gas flow coming from the furnace opens, this main shaft being appropriately divided by partitions above the exhaust pipe leading to the respective cyclone or cyclones.
The main shaft can particularly advantageously form the support for the entire arrangement, so that an additional framework can be omitted. The main shaft then forms a supporting pillar,
on which the individual cyclones hang. The dust discharge pipe of each higher cyclone can open into the exhaust pipe leading from the main shaft to the lower cyclone or into the main shaft above the point at which the exhaust pipe coming from the lower cyclone is connected to the main shaft.
The heat exchange between the pulverulent material to be heated and the exhaust gases coming from the furnace will be promoted quite significantly if the common main shaft is expediently designed as a swirl chamber,
in which the individual exhaust pipes preferably open out tangentially. Depending on the given conditions, the cyclones will be arranged around the shaft at equal distances from one another or offset, with the cyclones on each floor advantageously being at the same height. The system can be cleaned without interrupting operations.
take place in that the cyclones connected to the main shaft can expediently be switched off individually or in groups. The exhaust gases and the goods, e.g. B. cement raw meal, are then passed through parallel cyclones so that the plant can be kept in operation without interruption.
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
A particularly expedient structure of the device is achieved when the main shaft is removed. assembled individual pipe pieces placed one on top of the other, each carrying the associated cyclones.
The system can then be assembled from individual assemblies, which can be supplemented by further assemblies according to the respective operating conditions. In a known manner, the diameter of the main shaft can decrease steadily or intermittently towards the top, or the higher-lying cyclones can have a smaller diameter than the lower-lying cyclones.
With these measures, the gas speed can be adapted to the temperature conditions over the entire height of the system, or the gas speed can be kept low. By arranging the cyclones at an angle, it can also be achieved that the exhaust pipes and dust discharge pipes can be designed as straight pipelines, so that bends, which often lead to malfunctions, can be avoided.
The invention allows various structural design options. Some of these are shown in the drawing, namely: FIG. 1 shows a schematic representation of a first embodiment of the device, FIG. 2 shows a schematic representation of another embodiment, and FIG. 3-5 shows a schematic representation of the various arrangements of the cyclones to the main shaft.
In the arrangement according to FIG. 1, the rotary kiln 1 is adjoined by the vertical main shaft 2 which carries the cyclones 3, 3 'and 4 or 4'. The exhaust gases from the furnace 1 reach the shaft 2 in the manner shown in dashed lines, in which they rise upwards.
The exhaust pipes 5, 5 'or 6, 6' preferably open tangentially into the cyclones 3, 3 'and 4, 4'. The dust discharge pipes 7 and 7 'of the upper cyclones, which are each equipped with a shut-off device 8, open into the main shaft 2 above the point at which the exhaust pipes 9 and 9 leading away from the lower cyclones 3 and 3' 'lead into the main shaft 2.
Below the last-mentioned connection point, a funnel insert 10, which is provided with a locking member and forms a kind of partition in the viewing chamber 2, which forces the exhaust gases rising from the furnace 1 to first enter the cyclones 3 and 3 ', is located in the viewing duct 2. The dust discharge pipes 11 and 11 ′ of the lower cyclones, which in turn are each equipped with a shut-off device 12, open into a chute 13 leading to the rotary kiln 1.
The exhaust pipes 14 and 14 'of the upper cyclones are connected to the fan 15, which conveys the exhaust gases through the shaft and the cyclones and optionally allows them to escape into the open through a filter, not shown.
The feeding of the system, e.g. B. with cement raw meal, takes place via line 16 either mechanically or pneumatically. The pneumatic introduction of the dust-free fuel is to be preferred, since the raw meal can be blown into the shaft with considerable pressure and considerable speed from top to bottom.
This creates an intensification of the heat exchange based on counterflow right at the feed point. At the same time, a considerable turbulence of gas and material occurs, which further promotes heat exchange. The pipe 16 is expediently guided in a height-adjustable pipe 16a, which makes it possible to feed the raw meal at the most favorable point in the shaft 2. A cone 16b is arranged below the outlet opening of the pipe 16a, through which the material is evenly distributed over the shaft cross-section.
The exhaust pipes expediently open tangentially into the main shaft 2 in order to give the exhaust gases a twist in this way and to swirl them through together with the raw meal material. Of course, other cyclones can also be connected to the main shaft, which are at the same height as the cyclones shown, are offset from this or are located on an even higher floor.
In the arrangement according to FIG. 2, the entire system is divided into individual: subassemblies which are set one above the other and each subassembly includes a part of a main shaft and several cyclones arranged at the same height. The system consists of the shaft parts 20, 21, 22 and 23, which are placed on top of one another and each carry a platform 24. The lowermost part 20 adjoins the rotary kiln (not shown) in the usual way, while the uppermost part 23 is connected to the fan (also not shown) and carries feed locks 25 for the material to be heated.
Below each platform 24, which at the same time forms the partition wall for the main shaft, there are cyclones 26, 26 'at the same height, or corresponding cyclones 27, 27' or 28, 28 'on the next higher floor. Two or more cyclones at the same height can be used, which are arranged around the main shaft. From the main shaft 20 to the connected cyclones, an exhaust pipe 29 each leads through which the exhaust gas flows in the direction of the arrow shown in broken lines.
The exhaust gas lines 30 leading away from the cyclones are initially led vertically upwards from the center of the cyclone and then from the side to the following main shaft part 21.
The dust discharge pipes 31 leading out of each cyclone, however, open into the respective lower exhaust pipes 29. In a corresponding manner, the material is also fed from the locks 25 through pipes 32 into the exhaust pipes located below and leading to the highest cyclone.
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
Each floor of the shaft is designed in the same way, the shaft again tapering upwards as before and the diameter of the cyclones being able to decrease.
Individual cyclones and exhaust pipes can be shut off by means of gate valves or the like, which are not shown further, so that parts of the system can be shut down for the purpose of repair or cleaning without having to interrupt operation.
If the main shaft is of a correspondingly stable design, all cyclones can be carried by it, whereby a special framework is no longer necessary. The main shaft can be braced like a mast, with the individual platforms forming work platforms for the operating personnel.
In FIGS. 3 to 5, various other possible arrangements for cyclones Z and main shaft H are shown. In the arrangement according to FIG. 3, the cyclones 2 sit one above the other on both sides of the main shaft H in the direction of the axes I-II; in the arrangement according to FIG Main pipe H arranged around, while the cyclones in Fig. 5 are arranged offset in two double rows. In any case, the number and arrangement of the individual cyclones are of no importance for the invention.
The cyclones can also be arranged with their axis inclined relative to the main shaft, so that the dust discharge pipes and exhaust pipes can be formed by straight pipes that are as short as possible.
It is also possible to divide the shaft into two parts, i.e. H. to be divided into an upper and a lower part. The lower shaft part can open with two or more outlets in two or more or only in a single cyclone, the cyclone or cyclones releasing their gases to the upper shaft part.
