Gleichzeitig fliesst jedoch Wärme vom Be hälter8 ab.
Electrically operated valve The present invention relates to an electrically operated valve with a control medium in the form of a wet steam medium located in a closed space, which remains in a predetermined temperature range in the wet steam state and acts on a movable valve member under spring pressure and this depending on its pressure adjusts. The wet steam medium is heated electrically depending on a temperature, for example.
Valves of this type are known and are primarily used to control a medium as a function of a physical state variable. The valves are used, for example, to keep a flow of water at a constant or adjustable temperature.
The stream heating the wet steam medium can be switched on or off depending on the temperature of the water stream, and the movable valve element can regulate the inflow of cold or warm water.
In a known valve of the type described, a heat-insulated container is provided, which is wrapped in a heating wire for heating the control medium in the container the decreasing force acting on the movable valve member or the force acting against the spring.
Due to the fact that the heating element surrounding the container and this container itself have to cool down before the wet steam medium, the heat dissipation is initially very low, so that the temperature of the working medium only decreases slowly and the desired temperature change only takes place after a considerable period of time . This large time constant is disadvantageous for many applications and often prevents an equilibrium from being established.
The valve according to the present invention largely avoids this disadvantage. It is characterized in that an electrical resistance heater is provided in the space mentioned to heat the control medium.
The invention also relates to the use of this valve for temperature-dependent return control in hot water heating systems.
The invention will then be explained in more detail, for example, with reference to the accompanying drawings. In detail: FIG. 1 shows a longitudinal section through an electrically operated valve, FIG. 2 shows a side view of part of the valve shown in FIG. 1 and FIG 3 A schematic representation of a hot water heating system.
In the valve shown in FIG. 1, on a base plate, for example, three struts 2, only one of which is shown in FIG. 1 is attached, an attachment 3 at an adjustable distance. A cylinder 4, in which a piston 5 is arranged to be longitudinally displaceable, is attached to this attachment part 3 . The piston 5 is sealed against the cylinder by means of a sealing ring 6 , for example. The upper end of the cylinder 4 is formed by a perforated plate 7 .
The cylinder 4 is followed by a container 8 , which is divided into two parts by a membrane 9 . The membrane is preferably reinforced in the middle and only elastic at the edge, this edge being whale-like, as can be seen at 10 in the drawing. When the membrane moves vertically in the representation, the bead 10 rolls off. Preferably, the bead 10 is formed from individual flexible metallic strips, the spaces between the strips being sealed by a layer of a flexible material, for example C rubber.
Above the membrane 9 , in a closed space of the container 8 , there is an electrical resistor 11 on the feed pins 12 and 13 < / B> is connected and held by it. The aforementioned space, located above the membrane 9 , is filled with a liquid and above it with vapor formed by this liquid, which, depending on its temperature, exerts a more or less strong pressure on the membrane 9 exercises. Thanks to the liquid, the steam remains in a predetermined temperature range, in the wet steam state.
The partial space below the membrane 9 is filled with water, for example, and is used to transfer the pressure from the membrane to the piston 5 . The arrangement described ensures that the wet steam medium, for example a chlorofluorocarbon, cannot escape through a leak in the piston.
A pin 15 is guided through the base plate 1 , which is firmly connected at its upper end to a spring plate 16 . A spring 17 is supported on the plate 16 and on the base plate 1 in such a way that the plate 16 follows is pressed up.
Between the piston 5 and the plate 16 there is an intermediate piece 18. The piston 5 the plate < B> 16 and the intermediate piece 18 thus each occupy a position which corresponds to the state of equilibrium between the pressure of the wet steam medium and the spring.
An arm 20 is closed on the intermediate piece 18, which arm is fastened to a strut 2 such that it can rotate, for example at 21. To the right with respect to FIG. 1, the arm 20 ends in a handle 19 . In the outer housing 23 of the device, as can also be seen from FIG. 2, three bulges 25 branching off laterally from a length, o ", sseW1 itz, are provided, with which the arm 20 can be locked in corresponding positions Thus, if the electrical control system should fail for any reason, the valve can easily be adjusted by hand.
The pin 15 extends through the base plate and carries a movable valve element formed, for example, from two valve disks 26 and 27 . On the underside of the base plate 1 is a valve body 28 with an inlet 29 and two outlets 30 and 31 attached.
The valve body 28 is designed such that in an extreme position of the pin 15 the plate 27 has the drain 31 so that the medium flowing into the inflow 29 can only get to the outflow 30 , while in the other extreme position the plate 26 denotes Drain 30 closes off, so that all of the medium enters the drain 31 . During the operation of the valve, a more or less large current is sent through the resistor 11.
The resistor heats the working medium in the container 8 accordingly. At the same time, however, heat flows away from the container 8 . So that the outside of the container is well cooled by the surrounding air, windows 23a can be provided in the housing, which allow a free exchange of air with the environment. A state of equilibrium has already been established after a relatively short period of time, i.e. the amount of heat supplied by the resistor 11 is equal to the amount of heat that is passed through the walls of the room 8 is delivered.
The temperature corresponding to this equilibrium state is decisive for the pressure that is exerted on the pin via the membrane 9 the piston 5 and the intermediate piece 18 15 is transmitted. When the current through the resistor 11 increases, the force counteracting the spring 17 also increases. When the current is reduced, the outside of the container 8 briefly emits more heat than is supplied by the resistor, so that the temperature of the working medium in the container 8 decreases. As a result of the good cooling of the outside of the container 8 , the period of time required to establish a new state of equilibrium is relatively short.
The described, electrically controlled valve is particularly suitable for thermostatic control, in which case the current heating the resistor 11 is controlled as a function of a temperature.
As a result of the heating from the inside of the space containing the working medium and as a result of the good cooling of the outside of the container by the surrounding air, a state of equilibrium is established relatively quickly. The time after which this state of equilibrium is established, however, also depends in the individual case on the time constant with which the controlled variable acts on the temperature sensor controlling the current in the resistor 11. FIG. 3 shows the scheme of a hot water heater, with thermostatic control taking place by means of the valve shown in FIGS. 1 and 2.
The hot water leaves the boiler 40 via a line 41 and arrives at radiators 42, from where it flows to a pump 43. From here the water arrives via the inflow line, also designated in FIG. 1 with 29, to the valve designated here with 44. In a ratio given by the current temperature of the wet steam medium, a more or less large part of the water for heating is returned to the boiler via the drain line 30 or directly to the boiler via the drain line 31 , the line 41 and from this to the radiators 42 back.
The larger the amount of water flowing into the boiler 40 s # eats, the warmer the water flowing into the heating elements 42 is and the more heat they give off. An adjustable temperature sensor 32 regulates the temperature coming from a power source 33 and flowing through the resistor 11 (Fig. 1) Electricity. The temperature sensor 32 can be designed as a bimetal contact or as a temperature-dependent resistor.
When the outside temperature rises, for example, the temperature sensor 32 heats up so that the current through the resistor 11 also decreases. This causes the pressure of the steam medium to decrease, causing the valve disks 26 and 27 to lift. As a consequence of this, a larger percentage of the water coming from the pump 43 reaches the drainage line, 3 1, so that the radiators receive or give off less heat.
If the temperature of the sensor 32 falls, the pressure of the wet steam medium increases as a result of the greater heat dissipation of the resistor 11 , so that the piston 5 is pressed down and more water is returned to the boiler.
