Machine for the preparation of infusions The present patent relates to a machine for the preparation of infusions, in particular of coffee infusions, comprising a charger for the product to be infused, a rotating container receiving the product from the charger and formed of at least two axially movable parts relative to each other, an outlet channel for infusion and a channel for discharging waste from the product having been infused.
This machine is characterized in that one of the parts of the rotary container is constituted by a bell facing downwards, movable along its axis of rotation and comprising orifices for the evacuation of waste, and in that the The other part is constituted by a plate fixed on the shaft and mounted inside the bell, leaving between the two a radial clearance allowing the flow of the infusion in the outlet channel.
The appended drawing represents, by way of example, two embodiments of the object of the invention.
Fig. 1 is an axial sectional view of this machine.
Figs. 2 to 4 are partial sectional views of the machine in three different operating positions.
Fig. 5 is a section similar to FIG. 1, of the second embodiment.
Figs. 6 to 8 are sectional detail views of this machine in three different positions.
The machine shown is intended for preparing coffee infusions and comprises a base 1 enclosing an electric motor of which only the end of a shaft 2 is shown, a hopper 3 for coffee, a rotating container receiving the coffee powder coming from of the hopper 3, a first receiver channel 5 for the infusion of coffee and a second regulator channel 6 for the coffee grounds.
The rotary container 4 is formed of two parts, one in the form of a bell 7 movable axially relative to the other part constituted by a rotary plate 8 fixed axially and mounted inside the bell 7 on a shaft 9 of which the lower end is screwed onto the shaft 2 of the motor having a thread 10. It would of course be possible to provide another method of coupling, in particular of the bayonet type or in which the end of the shaft 2 would have a section not circular intended to fit into a correspondingly shaped cavity of the shaft 9.
A radial clearance 11 is provided between the plate 8 and the bell 7 to allow liquid to flow in the channel 5 as will be described in more detail below. The bell 7 has orifices 12 serving for the evacuation of waste, that is to say coffee grounds, in the receiving channel 6. The axial movements of the bell 7 are controlled as a function of its speed of rotation. by weights 13 acting under the effect of centrifugal force and bearing against the plate 8. The weights 13 are arranged diametrically opposed below the plate 8 and pivoted at 14 on a part 15 which is integral with the bell 7.
Return springs 16 are anchored at 17 at their ends to the weights 13 and serve to return the latter to the position shown in FIG. 1.
A needle 18 controlling the opening of the hopper 3 is connected to the part 15 by means of a pin 19 so as to be moved axially at the same time as the latter, an elongated opening 20 being made in the shaft 9 for allow the axial displacement of the pin 19. A compression spring 21 is disposed between a washer 22 fixed relative to the shaft 9 and the part 15 recalling this part in the position shown in FIG. 1.
The receiving channel 5 comprises a discharge duct 5 'and forms part of a housing 24 surrounding the weights 13 and the shaft 9 with the spring 21, this housing 24 being fixed to the base 1 by means of hooks 25 hooking onto ears 26 integral with the receiver 24. The channel 5 could include several discharge conduits 5 'to fill several cups at the same time.
The receiving channel 6 comprises a duct 6 ′ for discharging the waste and forms part of a casing 27 further carrying the hopper 3 and having ventilation openings 28. The channels 5 and 6 are arranged concentrically.
In a variant not shown, the needle 18 which is also rotary, could bear on its upper end means for grinding coffee beans contained in the hopper 3, these means possibly being constituted, for example, by a blade similar to that used. in coffee grinders of known construction.
The operation of the machine described is as follows. The container 4 is driven in rotation, for example at a speed of 3 or 4000 rev / min, which brings the two parts 7 and 8 of the container 4 into a position corresponding to the closing of orifices 12 and opening of hopper 3 (fig. 2) to pass the coffee powder to be infused into receptacle 4. By increasing the speed from 4000 rpm to 6000 rpm or 7000 rpm min, the parts 7 and 8 are brought together by lowering the bell 7 against the force of the spring 21 relative to the plate 8 in order to compact the coffee powder between the plate 8 and the bell 7.
Hot water is then passed by centrifugal force through the coffee powder to make the in fusion, which corresponds to the position of FIG. 3 and the two parts 7 and 8 of the container 4 are finally separated from one another to open the orifices 12 of the bell 7 and to pass through them by centrifugal force the waste or coffee grounds contained in it. in the container (fig. 4).
In this position, the weights have been returned towards the axis of the machine by the return springs 16 as in the position of FIG. 1, and the spring 21 has returned the bell 7 to its initial position, but the container 4 continues to be driven in rotation at a reduced speed of the order of 3 to 4000 rpm.
In the position of FIG. 2, it can be seen that the opening of the needle 18 corresponds to the closing of the orifices 12 for discharging the waste.
In the position of FIG. 3, the infusion flows downward through the radial clearance 11 and is expelled through the orifices 12 of the bell 7 to finally arrive in the receiving channel 5 from which it exits through the discharge duct (s) 5 '.
Finally in fig. 4, the needle 18 closes the charger 3 at the same time as the orifices 12 are uncovered by the plate 8 to allow the coffee grounds with the rinsing water to pass through these orifices into the receiving channel 6 from where they are discharged through conduit 6 '.
In the second embodiment of the machine shown in FIGS. 5 to 8, the fixed plate 8 'has on its lower face diametrically opposed bosses 29 against which a spout 30 of the burbot 13' comes into contact. These weights 13 'are pivotally mounted on pegs 14' engaged in elongated holes 31.
In fig. 5 the machine is stopped. As in the previous embodiment, the container 4 is rotated up to a speed of the order of 5 to 6000 rpm. The nozzles 30 of the weights 13 'bear on the bosses 29 of the plate 8' forcing the weights to lower the bell 7 through the intermediary of the part 15 'against the force of the spring 21 (FIG. 6). In this figure, the needle 18 is open, the coffee powder is introduced into the container 4 and compacted by centrifugal force and by the approach of the bell 7 relative to the plate 8 '.
By further increasing the speed of rotation of the weights 13 'between 6000 and 7000 rpm, for example, the nozzles 30 abruptly leave the bosses 29 and bring the bell 7 to the position of release from the orifices 12, the needle 18 being simultaneously closed as shown in fig. 7. The coffee grounds are therefore discharged while the bell 7 is rotating at its maximum speed.
The weights 13 'return to their starting position (FIG. 5) when the speed of rotation is reduced. The springs 16 then act on the massagers 13 'by bringing them back towards the axis of the machine and at the same time the nozzles 30 move along the corresponding bosses 29 which is made possible by the existence of the elongated holes 31 in which the pegs 14 are engaged (FIG. 8).
The nozzles 30 of the weights 13 'finally emerge from the bosses 29 and the parts of the machine return to the position shown in FIG. 5.
The machine described has the advantage of being able to be easily dismantled for cleaning the internal components. In addition, this machine makes it possible to prepare infusions in a short time thanks to the high speed of rotation of the container 4.
Although the machine described was intended for the preparation of coffee infusions, it could also be used to make other infusions from powdered products, such as tea, mint, etc.
