Une forme d'exécution de l'objet de l'invention sera décrite, à titre d'exemple, en se référant au dessin ci-joint auquel: la fig. 1 est une élévation de bout fragmentaire, partiellement en coupe, du dispositif ; la fig. 2 est une vue en plan par-dessous tournée à angle droit de la fig. 1 ; la fig. 3 est une vue à plus grande échelle d'un support supérieur de gauche montré à la fig. 2 ; la fig. 4 est une vue en élévation de bout cor respondant à la partie de gauche de la fig. 1 ;
Guidance device for a movable member This invention relates to a guide device for a movable member following a rectilinear path with respect to a support member.
In many. machine tools used for high precision work the need. The position of such elements as the machine tool table, the carriage and the headstock is felt to be able to adjust with great precision, and it is common practice to form the base support member with a pair of high precision parallel guides and move the table, cart or headstock along these guides.
The object of the present invention is to provide a guide device giving extreme ease of movement and optimum reduction of the play in two directions which are at right angles to one another and transverse to the body. direction of movement along the paths.
The device according to the invention is characterized in that one of these members is provided with two parallel guide elements, each of which has two longitudinal faces forming an angle with each other, and in that the other organ is provided. at least two ball bearings juxtaposed to the elements,
each support comprising a support block provided with two endless rows of balls arranged so that each row comprises a straight section and parallel to the section of the other row and each of which engages one of the faces, one of the supports being adapted to be subjected to the action of a play catching member which pushes it back towards. his; guide element so that we can put under, pre-train the balls.
An embodiment of the object of the invention will be described, by way of example, with reference to the accompanying drawing to which: FIG. 1 is a fragmentary end elevation, partially in section, of the device; fig. 2 is a plan view from below turned at a right angle of FIG. 1; fig. 3 is a view on a larger scale of an upper left support shown in FIG. 2; fig. 4 is an end elevational view corresponding to the left part of FIG. 1;
fig. 5 is an enlarged cross-sectional view of part of an edge of one of the supports, and FIG. 6 is a sectional view taken along line 6-6 of FIG. 3.
In the drawing a base 10 of a machine tool is provided with countersunk mortises 12 in which guide elements 14 are fixed by screws 16. A table 18 of the machine tool can move in a straight line along the elements. guide 14 by four supports 20 comprising balls 22.
Each ball carrier 20 has an elongated support block 24 fixed to the underside of the table 18 by bolts 26 and formed with ball grooves 28, 29 at its upper and lower outer edges. Each ball groove has a curved central part, with a radius corresponding to that of the balls 22, flanked by flat marginal parts 30 and 32 (Fig. 5).
The balls are retained by plates 34 mounted on the faces of the support blocks 24 adjacent to the grooves.
Each support block 24 is also provided with two return passages 36, 37 for the balls arranged longitudinally inside the block. The groove 28 and the passage 37 on the one hand and the groove 29 and the passage 36 on the other hand are connected by crossed return tubes 38 and 39 respectively arranged at the ends of each support block. The tubes.
return 38, 39 are bent, the tubes 39 being housed in diagonal mortises 40 of the support block and establishing communication between the groove 28 and the return passage 37, and the tubes 38 being housed in diagonal mortises 42 formed in the internal faces of cover plates 44 fixed to the ends of the support block 24 (fig. 3 and 4) and establishing communication between the groove 29 and the return passage 36.
Where the tubes 38 and 39 meet the grooves 28 and 29 respectively they are shaped as baffles 46 which guide the balls 22 so that the balls roll easily along the ball grooves, return tubes and passageways. return.
The guide members 14 have a V-shaped cross-section and thus provide two inclined faces 50, 52. These faces are formed with shallow curved grooves 54 in which the balls roll 22. Brass brushes 47 resiliently mounted in the mortised end plates 48 by means of springs 49 are arranged to remove dirt and other foreign matter from the curved grooves 54 of the guideways 14 (Fig. 6).
The two ball supports 20 located on one side of the table 18 (that is to say on the right side in Fig. 1 and on the lower side in Fig. 2) are rigidly mounted against countersunk faces 56, 58 on the lower side of the table 18. The other side of the table 18 is also provided on the lower side with two milled faces 60, 62 perpendicular to each other.
The upper face of the other supports (i.e. those on the left in fig. 1 and on the upper side in fig. 2) press firmly against the countersunk face 60, but between the inner face 64 of these supports and the countersunk face 62 of the table are arranged at corners 66.
The inner face 64 has an inclination corresponding to the inclination of a face 68 of the corners 66. When the two corners 66 are moved inward towards each other, the associated supports 20 are pushed towards the inside. outside to pre-stress the balls 22. The wedges 66 are moved inward towards one another by adjusting screws 70 screwed into brackets 72 projecting downwards at the ends of the table 18, lock nuts 74 being provided to lock screws 70.
Vertical holes 76 formed in the ball supports 20 which are provided with wedges 66 and receiving the fixing bolts 26 have an elongated shape in a direction transverse to the guide elements 14 in order to allow the adjustment of these supports by moving corners.
With the arrangement described a high prestressing can be obtained in two directions, that is to say in the horizontal direction transversely to the guide elements and in the vertical direction seen in FIG. 1, simply by advancing the screws 70 at the ends of the table. As the screws 70 are advanced towards each other, the two supports 20 located on the left side of the table as seen in FIG. 1 are pushed outwards against the associated guide element 14.
The inclinations of the inclined faces 64, 68 are complementary in order to keep the balls located in the grooves 28, 29 parallel to the faces 50, 52 of the guide elements and to ensure that the pressures on all the balls are substantially uniform. In this way an extreme ease of movement of the table along the guide elements 14 can be obtained, while an optimum reduction of the clearances in a horizontal direction transverse to the guide elements as well as in the vertical direction is simultaneously obtained. .
The extremely precise adjustment of the table position remains even when the table is carrying a substantial external load, as long as the pre-tension obtained by means of the wedges 66 can be high enough to eliminate the slightly inclined part of the load curve. deflection of the supports.
The device described has a small footprint and is very simple. The ball carriers 20 form self-contained assemblies so that they can be very easily mounted on the table or other movable member of almost any machine tool.
When the movable member of the machine tool has a length substantially greater than that of the stationary member of the machine tool, the ball carriers 20 may be mounted on the stationary member and the guide members 14 would be mounted on the stationary member. movable part of the machine tool.
