Membrane-controlled water volume regulator on an instantaneous water heater The invention relates to a membrane-controlled water volume regulator on an instantaneous water heater. In general, the fuel supply is switched on from the membrane of the water flow regulator at the same time, z. For example, a burner gas valve opens so that it also takes over the function of a low-water alarm.
It is a well-known phenomenon that in such water volume regulators, especially when the water pressure is high, a relatively large amount of water that has not yet been heated leaks out before the control valve has reached its operational control position. This is particularly true if the diaphragm stroke is artificially delayed for the purpose of the fire alarm in gas-heated devices.
It has already been proposed to prevent the water supply, which is undesirable for obvious reasons, by controlling a closure element from the regulator membrane in addition to: the regulating valve, which closes the flow channel completely or partially during the adjustment time of the regulating valve.
In this case, the closure member, which is designed in the form of a slide, initially follows the membrane movement. The closure member must therefore be designed and arranged in such a way that it opens fully even with a relatively small diaphragm stroke at a low initial water pressure.
In the case of hohn water pre-pressure, in which a relatively large diaphragm stroke is required to bring the control valve into the operating position, in the aforementioned arrangement the slide has opened the flow channel long before the control valve is in the operating position. So, especially at high water pressure, the particularly large water supply still takes place.
The invention is based on the object of eliminating this disadvantage of the previously proposed Vorlaufdrosse development. According to the invention, this is achieved in a water flow regulator of the type mentioned,
that the closure member is brought into the closed position by the membrane against the action of a spring force when the valve is not in operation and is held in this position during the setting time of the control valve by the unregulated water pressure on the closure member until the operating pressure is reached through the control valve is
under which the closure member enters the open position. The closing element does not necessarily follow the membrane movement here, but is held closed by the unregulated water pressure until the process water pressure is set by the control valve.
There is therefore no more unheated water supply, both with low and high water pressure.
An embodiment of the invention is illustrated in Figures 1 and 2 of the drawings and described in the following.
The figures show in section the housing 1 of a gas-heated instantaneous water heater, with a connection piece 2 being connected to a cold water supply line.
The through-flow pipe 5 ′, which leads through a radiator 4 and is closed off by an outlet nozzle 6, is connected to a second connection piece 3. A gas burner is denoted by 7 and is fed via a water shortage safety valve 8 from a gas line connected at 9.
A regulator diaphragm 10 is clamped in the housing List and divides an upper 11 and a lower diaphragm chamber 12. A diaphragm plate 14 loaded by a spring 13 rests on the diaphragm 10,
the shaft 14 'of which cooperates with the shaft 8' of the water shortage safety valve 8. The cold water inlet connection 2 is connected via an inlet channel 2 'to a bore 16 which is closed at the bottom by a locking screw 15 and which opens into the lower membrane chamber 12.
A control valve body 17 with a square cross-section is guided in the bore 16 and has a conical surface 17 ′ and a head 17 ″ passing through a constriction 18 of the bore 16. The valve body head 18 is pressed against the membrane 10 by a spring 19.
A Venturi nozzle 20 opens into the lower membrane chamber 12, through which a connection is established between the membrane chamber 12 and the connecting piece 3 or the flow pipe 5. In the most en b cross section of the Venturi nozzle 20 Querboh stanchions 21 are provided, which open into a channel 22 to the.
The channel 22 leads via a leaky poppet valve 23 (so-called slow ignition valve) into the upper diaphragm chamber 11.
A secondary water channel 24 which bypasses the Venturi nozzle 20 and is controlled by a valve 26 (temperature selector valve) to be operated by a handle 25 also opens into the lower membrane chamber 12.
In the lower diaphragm chamber 12, in front of the mouth of the Venturi nozzle 20, an angle lever-like valve flap 27 is mounted pivotably about the point of rotation 28 (FIG. 2). One leg 2 of the valve flap 27 has a small opening 29 for the passage of a minimum amount of water.
The valve flap 27 is raised by a compression spring 30, so that the leg 27 ′ releases the mouth opening of the Venturi nozzle 20. A cranked part 31 of the valve flap 27 can close off the mouth of the secondary water channel 24.
The mode of operation of the described arrangement is as follows: When the nozzle 6 is closed, pressure equalization is present in the membrane chambers 11, 12. As a result, the diaphragm 10 is pressed into the position shown in FIG. 1 by the spring 13.
When the spring 30 is tensioned, the valve flap 27 comes into the closed position shown in FIG. 1, in which the mouth of the Venturi nozzle 20 is closed off by the leg 27 'and the mouth of the auxiliary water channel 24 is closed off by the part 31.
If the nozzle 6 is opened, .then flows out of the membrane chamber 12 through the small opening 29, which can also be set through a narrow connecting hole 32 between the membrane chamber 12 and channel 24,
a small minimum amount of water through the flow pipe. A dynamic pressure is created under the membrane 10 in the chamber 12 which still corresponds to the full water inlet pressure, since the control valve 17 does not yet throttle the passage 18.
Due to the back pressure, the membrane 10 is raised against the We effect of the spring 13, the water present in the chamber 11 is slowly displaced through the leaky slow ignition valve 23 to the open nozzle 6 out. The stroke of the membrane 10 is delayed, so that the water deficiency safety valve 8 is opened only slowly.
During this slowed stroke movement of the membrane 10, the valve flap 27, on which the full water pressure still rests, is held in the closed position against the action of the spring 30, so that only the small minimum amount of water can flow through the flow pipe 5. After a sufficient diaphragm stroke, the control valve body 17 comes into its operating position and throttles with its conical part 17 ',
the passage cross-section 18, so that in the diaphragm chamber 12 an operating pressure which is reduced compared to the pre-pressure arises.
The spring 30 is coordinated so that it can raise the valve flap 27 at the reduced operating pressure into the position shown in FIG. 2, so that the mouths of the venturi nozzle 20 and the auxiliary water channel 24 are now released so that the operating moderate amount of water is allowed through.
In a known manner, the control valve body adjusts itself in such a way that the dynamic pressure difference arising at the Venturi nozzle 20 is kept constant and the amount of water flowing in is thereby controlled. By opening the temperature selector valve 26 you can increase the regulated amount of water more or less and thereby set the outlet temperature.
It is essential that the valve flap 27 is kept in the closed position by the still unregulated water pressure until the control valve 17 is throttled sufficiently and reaches its operating position. During the setting time of the control valve 17, which is delayed by the slow ignition, the valve flap 27 prevents an undesired water flow.
