Lifting jack for motor vehicles and the like The invention relates to a jack for motor vehicles and the like, with two end members, which by twisting an intermediate member that is coaxial with them and by an internal and an external thread, one of which is right-handed and the other left-handed is, is in screw connection with them, can be moved longitudinally into each other and vonein other away.
In known jacks of this type, a hand lever is seen to actuate the intermediate member, which is connected to it by a switchable ratchet or other one-way clutch. Such jacks have several serious disadvantages. The most important is that in many cases the jack must be placed in such a way that the operation of the hand lever is difficult, especially since the jack as a whole, as long as it is not actually lifting, must be prevented from rotating with one hand.
The invention aims to remedy this situation, namely in that a bevel gear rim is attached to a sleeve-shaped casing part of the intermediate member, that a bearing is rotatably arranged on this casing part, in which an actuating shaft is rotatably mounted, at one end of which a with the Conical ring gear meshing bevel pinion is present, and that means are provided for preventing relative rotation of the two end members and also a rotation of said bearing with respect to the end members.
The accompanying drawing shows an exemplary embodiment of the subject matter of the invention.
Fig. 1 is a vertical section and Fig. 2 is a side elevation of this embodiment. The illustrated jack for motor vehicles and the like has an intermediate member which consists of two coaxial parts 2 and 3 welded to one another at point 1 (or otherwise firmly connected to one another). Part 2 is a sleeve which has an external thread over most of its length and an internal thread in the upper part. The two threads have the same pitch; however, one is right-handed and the other left-handed.
The columnar part 4 of a lower end member can be screwed onto the external thread, which also includes a footplate 5 welded to the lower end of part 4 and tabs 6 welded to this footplate. In the internal thread a screw benspindel 7 is screwed, which forms an upper end member together with a welded at its upper end, arched plate 8 and two flaps 9 welded to this.
A bevel ring gear 10 is welded to the sleeve-shaped jacket 3 of the intermediate member and meshes with a bevel pinion 11 which is formed at one end of an actuating shaft 12. This actuating shaft, the axis of rotation of which is perpendicular to the common axis of the three above-mentioned members, rotates in a sleeve-shaped part 13 of a bearing which is rotatably mounted with its parts 14, 15 on the casing part 3 of the intermediate member.
A longitudinal displacement of the bearing on .dem shell part is made impossible because the ring gear 10 is located between the pinion 11 and the bottom of the cup-shaped bearing part 14 with only little play. The bearing part 13 is screwed with its screw projection 13a into a corresponding projection 14a of the bearing part 14. The actuating shaft 12 is provided at its free end with a coupling piece 16 of known design, into which one end of a hand crank can be inserted.
To prevent a relative rotation of the end links and also a rotation of the bearing 13, 14, 15 with respect to the end links, the following means are provided: A socket 17 is arranged on the sleeve-shaped bearing part 13 so as to be longitudinally displaceable. At this nut one ends of two pairs of equal length, H-shaped cross-section links 19 and 20 are articulated by means of screwed bearing journals 18.
The other ends of these links are hinged by means of Achs2äpfen 21 and 22 to the tab 9 of the upper end member or to the tab 6 of the lower end member.
This structure results in the following way of acting: Each of the actuating shaft 12 by means of the hand crank rotation is transmitted through the bevel gear 11, 10 and the casing part 3 to the screw part 2 of the intermediate member. Since the end members coaxial with the intermediate member are prevented from rotating, they are screwed away from one another (lifting movement) or screwed to one another or into one another (lowering movement) by the screw part 2 of the intermediate member.
Various changes could be made to the exemplary embodiment described. The jack could e.g. B. be equipped in a known manner with a chassis instead of a simple footplate.
