Additional patent to the main patent no. 331047 Press for coating tablets The present invention relates to a further embodiment of that according to the patent claim of the main patent, which reads as follows: Press for coating tablets, characterized in that it has a rotatably mounted plate which is on a Circular arranged stamping holes is provided, and that each stamping hole is assigned an upper and a lower stamp, which stamps are inserted and pushed out rotating around the axis of the plate in their holes, the upper stamps for controlling their insertion and removal movement in one fixed guide rails run,
which is provided with an interruption arranged and designed in such a way that each upper punch falls freely into the associated embossing hole on the tablet located in this interruption, centering it, and then again under the controlling influence of the guide rail as a result of its continuous rotational movement got.
The present invention is based on the knowledge that the tablets can be centered in the embossing hole in a satisfactory and simple manner by the protruding edge that forms when the tablets are pressed by means of the falling upper punch into the layer of the coating material on the lower punch can take place via traction material that forms around the tablet. Accordingly, the press according to the present invention is characterized in that the upper punch has a flat surface on the underside.
This has the advantage that the upper punch aligns the tablets in the predetermined manner when they are dropped onto the tablets in the embossing hole so that their surface is exactly parallel to the flat underside of the upper punch and therefore normally at right angles to the punch axis, in contrast to previously known presses, in which undesired inclinations of the tablets often occurred, which were favored by the fact that the loose layer of traction material poured onto the lower punch before the tablets were inserted into the punching hole naturally had no surface at right angles to the punch axis and consequently the surface that fell into the punching hole The tablet was tilted accordingly,
which was fixed, so to speak, by the subsequent filling in of the upper layer of coating material and could no longer be removed by embossing with the upper stamp.
In addition, since the tablet could not cause the edge of this lower layer to turn over noticeably by simply falling onto the lower coating material layer, there was no compact centering layer of the tablets in the embossing hole during the final embossing by the upper punch, so that precisely because of the Inclined position of the tablets these could be pushed on one side against the edge of the embossing hole. The coating layer was then missing at this edge point, as well as on the upper side at the highest point of the inclined tablets.
Both disadvantages are prevented by the press according to the present invention, in that by dropping the upper punch not only a centering raised edge of the lower coating material layer around the tablet and a horizontal position of the tablet is ensured, but also a certain amount of the mentioned raised edge Strength achieved by compressing the coating layer material, which is more effective in ensuring the centering of the tablet than a not compact, but completely loose layer.
The object according to the present invention is explained in more detail below with reference to the accompanying drawings, for example.
The drawing corresponds to the schematic diagram according to FIG. 1 of the main patent, in wel chem the pair of punches cooperating with an embossing hole is shown in elevation in various process steps. The press shown again has a rotatably mounted embossing plate 2, which is again provided with a circular row of embossing holes 1, corresponding to the order illustrated in Figure 5 of the main patent. Each stamping hole is again assigned an upper punch 3 and a lower punch 4, which punch with the plate are mounted so that they can rotate in and out of their holes.
The upper stamps run to control their pushing-in and pushing-out movement in a fixed guide rail 9. The lower stamps 4 run with the underside again in a guide rail. Both guide rails have the same function and the same design as in the embodiment according to the main patent. The same applies to the embossing rollers 13, 14, which cooperate with the facing punch heads of the upper punch 3 and the un direct punch 4 in the manner described in the main patent. The punches 3 and 4 are provided on the mutually facing end faces with a flat surface 5 provided at right angles to the punch axis.
To fill in the coating material, two boxes 7 and 12 are provided, which are arranged with little play over the embossing plate 2.
When using the press, as shown in the drawing for the left-most punch pair, an embossed hole under the outlet of the box 7, with the lower punch 4 raised. It therefore falls when the relevant embossed hole is moved through under the box 7 a corresponding one Layer 1 of filler material into the embossing hole. This layer rests on the upper surface 5 of the stamp 4 in question. After leaving the box 7, a tablet 8 is placed on this layer 6 in the manner explained in the main patent.
Then, as the embossing plate continues to rotate, according to the direction of movement in the drawing from left to right, the lower punch 4 is lowered by the control using the lower guide rail, and then the upper punch 3 freely falls onto the tablet B. This drop occurs again brought about by an interruption in the upper control rail 9, which is arranged and designed in such a way that each upper punch 3 falls freely into the associated embossed hole 1 on the tablet located therein when passing at this point.
Since the layer 6 is powdery and loose, the impact of the upper punch 3 under its own weight has an abrupt pushing of the tablet 8 into the layer 6, the tablet through the inner surface 5 of the bottom of the upper punch in the horizontal right and is held at right angles to the punch axis.
The sudden partial pressing of the tablet 8 into the layer 6 results in a corresponding turning-up of the layer 6 in the annular space between the edge of the tablet 8 and the edge of the embossing hole 1, so that the layer forms an upwardly protruding edge ring 10, wel cher assumes a compact consistency due to the intermittent bulging and the friction between the edge of the hole of the embossing plate 2 and the punch 3 and thereby forms an effective centering ring for the tablet 8, which fixes it in the embossing hole 2 in the further course of the process in a central position .
It then follows by passing the relevant embossing hole under the second filling box 12, the pouring of the upper filling material layer 11 and then when passing the relevant pair of stamps between the press rollers 13 and 14, the pressing and final embossing of the coating material on the tablet and then ejecting the coated tablet from the embossing hole and the discharge of the tablet.
