Durable concentrated preparation for dyeing and printing cellulosic material The invention relates to durable, concentrated preparations which are suitable for producing true dyeings and prints on cellulosic material, such as in particular cotton. These preparations are characterized in that they contain water-soluble dyes of the disazo, anthraquinone or nitro dye series with at least one aliphatic acylamino group of the formula NH.
CO - CHz CHF - halogen or monoazo dyes with at least 2 acylamino groups of this type per molecule.
With the preparations according to the invention, dyes and prints with excellent fastness properties can be obtained on materials made from native or regenerated cellulose. The preparations can optionally contain an acid-binding agent in addition to other auxiliaries customary for dyeing and printing.
To produce the dyes used in the preparations according to the invention or the components used to build them up, the ß-halopropionic acid halides are reacted with the amino groups of the dye components or the dyes.
During dyeing and printing, the water-soluble dyes contained in the preparations according to the invention, which contain the acyl group of the type mentioned bonded to nitrogen, react with the cellulose molecules of the fibers to form ether bonds, and this bond is so strong that the dyeings or prints have a washing or Keep the soaping process off. The dyes are fixed by heating to higher temperatures, preferably by steaming, in the presence of acid-binding agents.
The fixation is generally more complete when the group NH - CO - CH. ' <B> CH, </B> 'Halogen is contained several times in the dye molecule of the dye contained in the preparation according to the invention.
It could not be foreseen that preparations containing dyes with one or more acylamino groups as components, in the presence of alkaline agents, provide real dyes and prints on cellulose material, since the previous use of such dyes for dyeing wool in the acidic Area has been worked in which acylamino groups are known to be stable.
In the present case, however, it had to be expected that the heating required for fixation in the presence of alkaline agents and water at higher temperatures would split off the entire acyl radical from the dye molecule, or that the halogen could react in another way, before it reacts with the cellulose.
It was found, however, that preparations according to the present invention are largely stable and therefore durable despite the presence of alkaline agents and heating to higher temperatures during fixation and are not prematurely decomposed at higher temperatures before they react with the cellulose.
The dyes contained as components in the preparations according to the invention should expediently have little or no substantive character so that, after fixing, the dye portion which has not chemically reacted with the cellulose can be easily removed again by rinsing or soaping.
In order to be able to produce printing pastes or padding solutions that are as concentrated as possible, it is advisable to use dyes in the preparations according to the invention which contain at least 2 solubilizing groups in the molecule. These include SO3H or COOH groups or those OH groups which are not in the o-position to an azo group.
By choosing the: dyes contained as components in the preparations according to the invention and a variation in their structure, the hues can be largely varied. Dyeings can be produced in such a way that the preparations according to the invention, optionally with the addition of other additives customary in dyeing, are dissolved, padded onto the fiber, then the padded dye is expediently dried and fixed by steaming in the presence of acid-binding agents; then it is rinsed and soaped.
It is advisable to add neutral salts (table salt, Glauber's salt). Dyeing can be carried out using the pad-steam, pad-roll or pad-jig method.
The reaction with the fiber, i.e. the fixation of the preparations, which are easily soluble in water, takes place at a higher temperature. The steaming is expediently carried out at temperatures around 100 and above. The optimal fixation temperature and duration is different for the individual dyes and can be determined through a preliminary test.
Suitable acid-binding agents are alkali acetates, alkali formates, alkali bicarbonates, alkali carbonates, alkali phosphates, alkali hydroxides or the corresponding alkaline ammonium compounds or aliphatic, heterocyclic or aromatic amino compounds. In most cases you will add the carbonates or bicarbonates, especially soda.
The printing pastes are also made up with the preparations according to the invention, optionally with the addition of further additives customary in the printing works, in particular urea, and after printing is likewise steamed, rinsed and soaped.
The dyeings and prints produced using the preparations according to the invention have very good fastness properties and, in many cases, very high clarity.
With a suitable choice of the components, metal complex dyes, if appropriate those containing copper, chromium or cobalt, can also be used in the preparations and fixed on the fiber, it being possible for the metal to be contained in the dye or in the course of the dyeing or printing process or can be introduced by post-treating the dyeings or prints with metal donating agents.
<I> Example 1 </I> A stable preparation consists of: 50 g of the disazo dye from 2 mol of the diazo compound of 1 amino-3- (ss-chloro-propionyl-amino) -benzene-6-sulfonic acid and 1 mol 1 amino-8-oxy-naphthalene-4,6-disulfonic acid, 80 g urea, 25 g sodium carbonate (anhydrous).
This preparation can be processed with 1 liter of water to form a padding solution, which is used to pad a cotton nettle fabric that is squeezed, dried and steamed at 100-105 for about 1-10 minutes. After renewed rinsing, soaking, rinsing and drying, a deep, reddish-tinged, dark blue dyeing of very good wet fastness, good light fastness and pure white etchability can be obtained.
<I> Example 2 </I> A durable preparation consists of: 50 g of the dye, which is obtained by combining the diazo compound of 1 mole of 1-amino-3- (ss- chloropropionylamino) -benzene-6-sulfonic acid with 1 Mol of 2- (ss-chloro-propionylamino) -5-oxynaphthalene-7-sulfonic acid is obtained, 100 g of urea, 20 g of sodium carbonate (anhydrous),
500 g sodium alginate thickener (4%).
This preparation can be processed into 1 kg of printing paste with the auxiliaries customary in printing, which is used to print a cotton or rayon fabric. After drying, the goods can be steamed for 5 minutes in the high-speed steamer and after rinsing, soaking, rinsing again and drying, they show vivid orange prints with very good lightfastness, very good wetfastnesses and satisfactory chlorinefastness. The fixation can also be carried out in such a way that instead of steaming: Heated for about 5 minutes dry at 150.
<I> "Example 3 </I> A durable preparation consists of: 50 g of the dye, which is obtained by combining the diazo compound of 1 mol of 3- (ß-chloro-propionylamino) -1-aminobenzene-6-sulfonic acid with 1 mole of 1- (ss-chloro-propionyl-amino) -8-oxy-naphthalene-3,6-disulfonic acid in the presence of excess sodium acetate was made, 10 g of sodium bicarbonate, 100 g of urea.
This preparation can be done with the aids customary in printing, such as. B. alginate thickening, processed to 1 kg printing paste, which is used to print a cotton or rayon fabric. The goods can be printed, steamed, rinsed and soaped according to the information given in Example 2, giving bright blue-tinged red prints that are fixed in a washable manner.
<I> Example 4 </I> A durable preparation which can be used for the production of printing pastes consists of: 50 g of the primary disazo dye, which is obtained by combining 2 mol of the diazo compound of 1-amino-3- (l- chloropropionylamino) benzene-6-sulfonic acid is obtained with 1 mol of 1,3-diamino-benzene-4-su-ifonic acid, 100 g urea, 20 g sodium carbonate (anhydrous), 500 g sodium alginate thickener (4%).
This preparation can be processed into 1 kg of printing paste with the auxiliaries customary in printing, which is used to print a cotton or rayon fabric. The goods can be printed, steamed, rinsed and soaped according to the instructions in Example 2, resulting in yellow-orange prints which are fast to water and light.
Similar results are obtained with a preparation which, using a corresponding disazo dye, combines 2 moles of the diazo compound of 1-amino-3- (ss-chloropropionylamino) -benzene-6-sulfonic acid with 1 mole of 2-amino 5-oxy-naphthalene-7-sulfonic acid was prepared. It is thus possible to obtain strong red prints with the same fastness properties.
<I> Example </I> S A durable preparation consists of: 40 g of the dye, which is obtained by boiling the aqueous solution of 1 mol of 4,4'-diaminodiphenylamine-3,2'-disulfonic acid with 1 mol of 2, 6-dinitro-1-chloro-benzene-4-carboxylic acid is obtained in the presence of acid-binding agents and subsequent acylation with β-chloro-propionic acid chloride, 100 g urea, 20 g sodium carbonate (anhydrous),. 500 g sodium alginate thickener (4o / oig).
This preparation can be processed into 1 kg of printing paste with the auxiliaries customary in printing, which is used to print a cotton or rayon fabric. The goods can be printed, steamed, rinsed and soaped according to the information in Example 2, whereby washable and lightfast brown prints are obtained.
Similar results are obtained with a preparation which was produced using a corresponding nitro dye, in which 2,4-dinitro-1-chlorobenzene instead of 2,6-dinitro-1-chlorobenzene-4-carboxylic acid was used. The prints or colors available with this are yellow-brown.
