Rotary lock on a container The invention relates to a twist lock on a container, such as B. sheet metal canisters and cans, balloons and the like, with a cover made of sheet metal with a punched opening and a captive ge over the cover slipped from tough elastic material existing closure capsule.
In known rotary closures of this type, the closure capsule has an opening corresponding to the opening of the lid. If the two openings are brought to coincide, the contents of the container can be emptied. If the closure capsule is rotated, the part of the cap which has no opening slides over the opening of the lid firmly connected to the container, so that the container is then closed again.
The sheet metal cover, which at some distance from the edge of the head surface on its circumference has a bead or indentation running around it, is in a manner known per se, for. B. machine, inseparable bar with the container, z. B. with the head surface of a sheet metal canister or the opening of a balloon a related party. The elastic closure cap lies tightly against the lid surface of the container.
These known container closures have an opening in the cover plate or in the closure cap from the start; these are just not yet brought into line. Since there is a risk that if the container is stored, packed or shipped carelessly, the cap will be rotated, causing the container to be opened prematurely and unintentionally, so the cover plate of the container has already been attached without opening. To open it, the cover plate first had to be provided with an opening using a device that was pushed through the opening in the closure cap.
However, this type of closure has the disadvantage that one. For the purpose of opening the container for the first time, a special device is required to create the opening or the hole in the cover plate. This is also necessary if the production of the opening or the hole should be facilitated by a pre-punching or embossing in the cover plate.
These disadvantages of the known closures who overcome by the new closure, which also result in further advantages.
According to the invention, the closure capsule has a bulge protruding into the opening of the lid on its head surface, the whole in such a way that the bulge can be cut off from the edges of the opening by turning the closure capsule.
The bulge protruding into the punched-out opening of the sheet metal cover can be dimensioned such that the elastic material of the closure capsule is pressed against the edges of the opening.
In addition, the closure capsule can be designed in such a way that it engages with an annular bead running on its lower inner edge in an indentation in the sheet metal lid or container edge and rests snugly on the sheet metal lid, whereby a. Captive and completely tight closure of the container can be created.
To open the container, simply turn the cap a little to the left or right. Here, the downwardly directed bulge in the head surface of the closure capsule is cut off from the sharp edges of the punched opening in the head surface of the sheet metal cover.
The container has been opened as a result, because instead of the bulge a correspondingly large opening has now been created in the closure capsule, which can be brought into line with the opening of the lid by turning it back slightly. By further turning the closure capsule, the container can be closed again in a manner known per se.
An embodiment of the subject invention will be described with reference to the drawings.
In the drawing, Fig. 1 shows in side cross-section and Fig. 2 in plan view from above, the sheet metal cover.
3 shows, in partial side cross section, the closure capsule seated on the sheet metal cover. 4 shows the closure capsule in a plan view from above.
In Fig. 1, b denotes the indentation running around its circumference at some distance from the edge of the head surface of the sheet metal cover a, which is located, for B. is immediately adjacent above the head area f of the container.
In FIG. 2, the top surface of the sheet metal cover is shown in a view from above on the outside with a sector-shaped punched opening d and edges c.
In FIG. 3, a is the sheet metal cover with the indentation b, e is the sealing cap with three sealing and sliding beads sitting on the sheet metal cover, g is the recess of the top surface protruding into the punched opening of the sheet metal cover and h < / I> the annular bead of the closure capsule that engages in the indentation b .
In FIG. 4, the top view of the cylindrical closure capsule e with a bean-shaped recess g and handle ribs i for improving the handle is shown in a top view from the outside.
Conveniently, a resilient and inert material is chosen as the tough elastic Ma material for the closure capsule against the contents of the container and external influences, z. B. polyethylene, polyurethane, polyvinyl chloride, poly tetrafluoroethylene, etc.
The annular beads running around the inner surface of the circumference of the closure cap increase the sliding effect on the sheet metal lid neck and make it easier to turn the closure cap. They also serve as a seal.
There is also the possibility of providing two bulges in the closure capsule and corresponding openings in the lid, which are conveniently arranged opposite one another, so that when the container is opened, one of the openings made to coincide is used to exit the container contents, while the second opening allows air to enter the container. The size of the two openings in the cover or the two corresponding bulges in the closure capsule can optionally be of different sizes.
