Electrical control device The present invention relates to an electrical control device arranged so as to provide a signal when a mobile part reaches at least a determined position relative to another part, for example a limit position. This device can control, for example, a safety circuit breaker.
An object of the invention is to provide such a device which does not have contact between the parts movable with respect to one another.
The device forming the subject of the invention is characterized in that it comprises at least one armature, at least one electromagnet comprising a ferrous core with open ends and a winding, the armature and the electromagnet. magnet being arranged with respect to said parts in relative movement so that, in said determined position, the mature arc closely closes the magnetic circuit of the core,
and an amplifier arranged to produce an output signal in response to a change in inductance of said coil of the electromagnet and exhibiting a positive reaction such that the establishment of said signal is rapid.
Such a device is useful above all in installations in which the movement of the movable part does not need to be detected elsewhere than at the ends of a certain domain or in certain positions of this domain, rather than at the ends of a certain domain or in certain positions of this domain. installations where actual displacement is important in all positions.
Consequently, the device can be arranged so that, for the greater part of the range of relative movement of the parts, the armature or each armature has a negligible effect on the inductance of the winding or of each of the windings.
The output signal of the amplifier can control the relative movement of the two parts. It can be used, for example, to control the excitation of an elevator motor in order to. stop the motor when the elevator reaches a floor.
This output signal can obviously be applied to an installation in which an operation is triggered by the closing of a switch when certain safety measures have been taken, measures materialized by the meeting of the parts in relative movement.
The device has a large number of applications and can be used, in particular, in place of a conventional relay.
The appended drawing represents, by way of example, two embodiments of the device according to the invention.
Figs. 1 and 2 are diagrams of the first and the second embodiment, respectively. The device shown in FIG. 1 is intended to form part of an automatic control installation of devices for loading coal in mines, to initiate a loading operation when a door is closed.
It is arranged so as to energize a coil 11 making it possible to trigger the operation as soon as a door is closed, the closing of the door producing the movement of two armatures 12 located near ferrous cores 13 of electromagnets in U-shaped, so as to close very closely the magnetic circuits of these cores and to significantly increase the inductance of windings 14 wound on these cores.
The windings 14 are each connected in series with a capacitor 15 and are placed in opposite branches, of an AC bridge excited by an AC source 16, through a transformer 17.
The capacitances of the capacitors are chosen so as to present reactances equal to the reactances of the windings 14 at the supply frequency when the armatures 12 are remote from the cores 13, so that, under these conditions, the branches of the bridge have pure resistances.
The bridge is arranged to be in equilibrium and to provide a zero output voltage when the reinforcements are at a distance from the cores.
The coil 11 is energized from a magnetic amplifier 21 comprising two load windings 22 connected to the. coil 11 and each connected between one of the ends of a secondary winding 23 of a transformer 24 excited by the source 16 and an intermediate tap of this winding 23.
The amplifier also comprises, mounted on the cores of the load windings 22, a bias winding 25, supplied through a two-wave rectifier 26 by another secondary winding 27 of the transformer 24, to prevent the passage of a current of load in the absence of a control signal.
It also comprises a winding 28 of positive reaction, excited by the voltage across the terminals of the coil 11 and which acts in such a way as to increase the charging current once the latter begins to flow,
and a control winding 29 which makes the load current dependent on the output voltage of the bridge.
The two load windings 22 are each connected by one end to the opposite ends of the secondary winding 23, and by the other end, via rectifiers 31, to one end of the coil 11.
The two rectifiers 31 thus operate as a two half-wave rectifier, so that the coil 11 is excited by a direct current. As the excitation of the control winding 29 changes, the degree of saturation of the cores changes and, with it, the impedance of the load windings and the load current.
By virtue of the positive reaction produced by the bearing 28, a change in the charging current induces a further change in the degree of saturation. The effect is cumulative and the charge current increases rapidly. In this way, the amplifier acts as a hard-to-close switch.
The output voltage of the bridge is sent into a network comprising two resistors 33 in series, connected to the terminals of two rectifiers 34 in series.
The entry of this network from the bridge is made between the junction of the resistors 33 and the junction of the rectifiers 34, and the output of the network for the control winding 29 is taken between the two junctions of the resistors 33 with the rectifiers 34.
When the door is closed and when the inductances of the windings 14 rise to destroy the balance of the bridge, an output signal is rectified, for its two halfwaves, in the network 33, 34 and sent in the form of a direct current of control in the control winding 29,
so that an output current is produced from the amplifier 21 to energize the coil 11 abruptly and initiate a charcoal charging operation.
It can be seen that the bridge is always unbalanced in the same direction, but in all cases the output voltage of the rectifier network 33, 34 is independent of the polarity of its input voltage.
The second embodiment shown in FIG. 2 is similar to the first embodiment, but the coil 11 is energized only if two doors are closed, and not a single door as in the first embodiment.
Similar parts of the two circuits bear the same reference numbers. The second embodiment comprises two bridges, each comprising two windings 14 each mounted on a U-shaped electromagnet core 13, in each of two opposite branches, in series with a capacitor 15.
Each bridge is energized by a different secondary winding of transformer 17. The frames 12 of one bridge move near the cores 13 when one of the two doors is closed, and the frames 12 of the other bridge move near the cores. cores 13 corresponding when the other door is closed.
As in the first embodiment, this event produces, in each bridge, an increase in inductance which unbalances the bridge and produces an output voltage which is sent to the terminals of the corresponding rectifier network comprising two resistors 33 and two straighteners 34, as before.
The load windings of the magnetic amplifier 21 are connected to the coil 11 by means of the rectifiers 31, as before, but here the amplifier does not have a feedback bearing.
As in the example of fig. 1, the rectifiers 31 provide only one direction of current flow in each load winding 22, so that the load current accentuates the change in saturation of the cores due to a control current. This action, slow to a positive reaction,
is well known. The amplifier thus acts as a hard-close switch, even without a feedback winding.
Bias winding 25 is connected in the same way as before, but the voltage sent to it feeds a voltage divider comprising resistors 41 and 42 in series with a rectifier 43.
The voltage across resistor 42 is low, because this resistance is low compared to resistor 41, and it is sent by rectifier 43 across control coil 29 in series with resistor 45 and with the two networks 33, 34 connected in parallel.
Each of the two circuits in parallel contains the unRTI ID = "0002.0216" WI = "5" HE = "4" LX = "1371" LY = "2578"> networks 33, 34 in series with a rectifier 46, the rectifiers 46 letting the current flow in the same direction.
Thus, a current normally flows in the bias winding 25 and in the control winding 29 from the resistor 42, through the resistor 45, the rectifiers 46, the resistors 33 and the resistor 41. If however one of the bridges produces an output voltage because the corresponding gate is closed, the potential at the junction of the rectifiers 34 and 46 rises and the rectifier 46 is no longer conductive.
The current in the control bearing 29 can then flow only through the other parallel circuit containing a rectifier 46 and a network 33, 34, and thus the current is reduced.
When the second gate is closed, so that the second bridge is unbalanced and produces an output voltage, the second rectifier 46 is made non-conductive in the same way as the first and current no longer flows through it. control winding 29.
When this occurs, an output current occurs in the load windings 22, as a result of the current in the bias winding 25, and energizes the coil 11 to initiate a charcoal charging operation. Increasing the load current in the windings 22 increases the change in saturation due to the bias current and, as a cumulative process, the load current increases rapidly.
It should be noted that in each embodiment described, the electrical circuit does not include any moving contact or other moving parts, so that the circuit is safe to operate.
The tuning of the inductors 14 with the capacitors 15 makes it possible to obtain a significant change in the impedance of each branch of the bridge when the reinforcements 12 approach the cores 13 and this effect is accentuated by the use of two inductors in the opposite branches of the bridge.
It is obvious that the circuit of the magnetic amplifier could be arranged so that the coil 11 is energized only if one or the other of the doors is closed, but. not both.
One could also use a single pair of armatures 12 moving between positions respectively adjacent to the cores 13 of one bridge and to the cores 13 of the other bridge, to define two determined positions of a moving part.
