Method for adjusting the capacitance of wound or layered capacitors The invention relates to a method for adjusting the capacitance of wound or layered capacitors, which after their completion (winding or layers and after impregnation with an additional dielectric), but optionally before the installation of the Capacitor elements in a housing is applied.
It is known that the capacitance values of wound capacitors, for example, often differ greatly from one another because of the unevenness of the building materials used for their manufacture, even if they were wound with approximately the same diameter or the same number of turns. The capacitor manufacturers are therefore forced to choose capacitor windings with a narrow tolerance range for the capacity from a large number of similarly manufactured windings. This can lead to increased failure in those cases in which the laps falling out of the tolerance range cannot be used for other purposes.
This can be avoided if it is possible to subsequently change the capacity of a completely wound and impregnated capacitor winding, in particular to reduce it to a prescribed value.
This is the case with capacitors in which at least one occupancy is subdivided into partial areas, which are only connected to an end contact bridge by narrow webs extending parallel to the connection edge of the occupancy, and which after their completion (winding, spraying on of contact bridges, soaking) ) have a higher capacity than their nominal value, achieved according to the invention by interrupting a corresponding number of the webs between the connection edge and the partial occupancy areas.
The method according to the invention is illustrated in the drawing, for example, namely FIG. 1 shows a piece of an unwound capacitor assignment with assignment parts connected to one another by narrow webs, and FIG. 2 shows a capacitor winding with a subdivided assignment according to FIG one end of which to reduce its capacity to a certain value, an incision is made by a circular saw.
According to FIG. 1, a capacitor assignment consists of a number of metal surface sections 12, separated from one another by narrow, metal-free spaces 11 on an insulating strip 10 on metallized metal surface sections 12, each of which is connected to a connecting edge 13 that extends over the entire length of the strip. parallel to the connecting edge 14 extending web 15 are connected. By interrupting such webs from sections 12 of the total occupancy can be separated.
The opposite assignment to the capacitor assignment connected via the webs 15 can be divided in the same way or formed without a metallization pattern in such a way that it is continuously metallized on one side up to its outermost edge, while the other edge of the base is kept metal-free .
When processing such metallized insulating strips to form capacitors, these are expediently offset laterally from one another in such a way that the webs 15 are outside the effective electrical capacitor field, so that mechanical damage to the dielectric in the capacitor field is excluded during alignment.
It is also advisable to metallize the connection edge and the connecting webs of the subdivided occupancy more than the other occupancy parts, so that the webs to the partial coverings do not burn away when the capacitors are subjected to impact and so that they do not form a resistance that increases the loss factor.
As illustrated in Fig. 2, the separation of individual occupancy sections 12 and thus the balancing of the capacitor capacity can be sawed by means of a small circular saw 16 Runaway leads, which for this purpose on the one end of a finished and soaked, with sprayed contact bridges 17 provided capacitor wiekels 18 is applied, namely at a point that is not covered by the contact bridges 17.
The sawing itself is expediently carried out under oil to prevent air and moisture from entering the condenser.
As already mentioned, the described method assumes that the capacitor winding has a higher capacitance than the required nominal capacitance before it is balanced. It has been shown that the capacity tolerance that can be achieved with the method can be kept low (<511 / o).
The capacity adjustment itself is carried out in such a way that, with simultaneous measurement of the capacity, the front side intended for the adjustment is cut in until the prescribed target capacity is reached. The adjustment can be fully automated by using suitable measuring and control devices.
