Haltbares fungizides Mittel
Das Reaktionsprodukt fällt bei diesem Vorgehen praktisch rein aus und kann durch Filtration abgetrennt werden. Als Ausgangsstoffe kommen einerseits neben den drei Grundkörpern, 2-Mercapto-benzthiazol, 2-Mercapto-benzoxazol und 2-Mercaptobenzimidazol, beispielsweise 2-Mercapto-5-chlor-, 2-Mercapto-5-brom-, 2-Mercapto-5-fluor-, 2-Mercapto-6-chlor-, 2-Mercapto-5-nitro-, 2-Mercapto-6nitro-, 2-Mercapto-5-methyl- und 2-Mercapto-5-tri fluormethyl-benzthiazol und benzoxazol, sowie 5-Chlor-, 6-Chlor-5-brom-, 6-Brom-, 5-Nitro- und 6-Nitro-benzimidazol;

Durable fungicidal agent
The present invention relates to new, durable, fungicidal agents and their use for combating fungi on plants and parts of plants and on non-textile organic materials.
It has been shown that compounds of the formula
EMI1.1
wherein X is 0, S or NH, the benzene nucleus can be substituted by one or more halogen atoms, a trifluoromethyl or nitro group or a low molecular weight alkyl, alkoxy or alkyl mercapto group and R1, R2, R3, R4 and R5 are hydrogen or low molecular weight alkyl radicals together mean a maximum of 6 carbon atoms, have a strong fungicidal activity. Since they do not have a phytotoxic effect at the same time in the concentrations or amounts required to achieve a fungicidal effect and are not very toxic to warm-blooded animals, they are particularly suitable as active ingredients for fungicidal agents for use in crop protection. Their surprisingly good action against apple powdery mildew is of particular interest here.
Some of the compounds described by the formula, e.g. B. 2-acetonylthio-benzothiazole and 2- (butan-2'-onylthio- [3 ']) - benzthiazole, has already become known, especially as auxiliaries in the rubber industry. The others can be prepared in an analogous manner by methods known per se by reacting 2-mercapto-benzothiazole, 2-mercapto-benzoxazole or their derivatives substituted in the benzene nucleus according to the definition of Y with a-halogen-substituted low molecular weight dialkyl ketones in the presence of an acid-binding agent. Instead of the free mercapto compounds, previously formed salts, e.g. B. alkali salts or alkaline earth salts, and in this case the acid-binding agents are omitted. The reaction is advantageously carried out in a solvent such as water, alcohol or acetone.
The alkali metal hydroxides, alkaline earth metal hydroxides and alkali metal carbonates, as well as tertiary organic bases such as pyridine, dimethylaniline or triethylamine, have proven themselves as acid-binding agents. An excess of organic base can also serve as a solvent. A particularly advantageous embodiment of the production process given above consists in the gradual addition of a haloketone to the aqueous solution of an alkali metal salt of a 2-mercapto-benzothiazole or 2-mercapto-benzoxazole, the alkaline reaction of the solution being kept in the order of magnitude by simultaneous addition of alkali the precipitation of free mercaptan by the hydrochloric acid formed during the decomposition of a small part of the haloketone is prevented.
In this procedure, the reaction product is practically pure and can be separated off by filtration. As starting materials, on the one hand, in addition to the three basic substances, 2-mercapto-benzothiazole, 2-mercapto-benzoxazole and 2-mercaptobenzimidazole, for example 2-mercapto-5-chloro, 2-mercapto-5-bromo, 2-mercapto-5- fluoro, 2-mercapto-6-chloro, 2-mercapto-5-nitro, 2-mercapto-6-nitro, 2-mercapto-5-methyl- and 2-mercapto-5-trifluoromethyl-benzothiazole and benzoxazole, as well as 5-chloro-, 6-chloro-5-bromo-, 6-bromo-, 5-nitro- and 6-nitro-benzimidazole;
and on the other hand chlorine and bromoacetone, 3-chloro-butanone- (2), 1-chloro-butanone (2), 2-chloro-pentanone- (3) and 2-bromo-pentanone- (3), 3-chloro-3 -methyl-butanone- (2), 1-chloro-3-methyl-butanone- (2), 1-bromo-3, 3-dimethyl-butanone- (2), (co-bromo-pinacolin), 2-chlorine -2,4-dimethyl-pentanone- (3), 2-bromo-2,4-dimethyl-pentanone- (3), 3-bromo-heptanone- (4), 4-bromo-nonanone- (5) and 3-bromo-2,6-dimethyl-heptanone- (4) into consideration.
Active ingredients that can be produced from these starting materials are, in addition to the two compounds already mentioned above, e.g. B. 2- (pentane 3'-onylthio- [2 ']) - benzothiazole, 2-acetonylthio-5-chlorobenzothiazole, 2-acetonylthio-6-chlorobenzothiazole, 2 acetonylthio-benzoxazole, 2- (butane-2 '-onylthio- [3']) benzoxazole, 2-acetonylthio-5-chlorobenzoxazole, 2-acetonylthio-6-chlorobenzoxazole and 2-acetonylthio5-methyl-benzoxazole.
The active ingredients can be used in finely divided form in combination with carriers and distribution agents to protect plants and parts of plants from attack by harmful fungi. The fungicidal agents are also suitable for the treatment of non-textile organic materials such. B. wood, skins and leather. For all purposes they can be used in combination with other organic or inorganic fungicidal substances or with insecticidal or bactericidal substances. Such additional active ingredients are e.g. B.
Copper and sulfur preparations, pentachlorophenol, N-trichloromethanesulfenyl-phthalimide and N-trichloromethanesulfenylmethanesulphone-p-chloroanilide as fungicides, and dichlorodiphenyltrichloroethane, hexachlorocyclohexane, p-nitrophenyl-diethyl-2-thionophosphione, p-nitrophenyl-diethyl-2-thionophosphion (6-propyl) -pyridyl-2-isopropyl-2-propyl-2-thionophosphione (6-thopropyl) -pyridylmethyl-2-isopropyl-2-isopropyl-diethyl-2-phosphate-2-thionophosphione (6-propyl-diethyl-2-phosphate) and 1 isopropyl 3 -pyrazolyl (5) dimethyl carbamate as insecticides.
For example, for the preparation of fungicidal agents according to the invention, the active ingredients of formula I defined above can be mixed with solid powdery carriers, such as Combine talc, kaolin, bolus, bentonite, chalk or ground limestone. The pulverulent fungicides obtained can, if desired, be made suspendable in water by adding suitable dispersants. Furthermore, the active ingredients can also be suspended as such in solid, finely ground form with the aid of surface-active substances, or they can be emulsified in water after dissolution in organic solvents and with the aid of suitable emulsifiers.
Furthermore, the active ingredients can also be used in organic solvents, e.g. in chlorinated hydrocarbons such as trichlorethylene or in medium petroleum fractions, optionally with the addition of auxiliary solvents such as acetone or higher ketones. Finally, the fungicidal agents can also be used in the form of aerosol, smoke, steam distributed in the air, in particular in storage rooms and greenhouses.
The excellent fungicidal effectiveness of the active ingredients can be seen from the test results shown in the table below.
In the slide test, slides are sprayed with acetone solutions of the active ingredients with 10 / o, 0, 1 / e and 0.010 / a active ingredient content. The quantity of spraying is such that 30 y or 3 y or 0.3 y of active ingredient are evenly distributed on the slides per cm 2. The table shows those concentrations of acetone solutions which are able to prevent the germination of at least 8.0 of spores of the specified types of fungus on the slides that have been sprayed and dried with them.
In the celery test, Petri dishes, each with 20 young celery leaves lying next to one another, are sprayed with 1 cms each of spray mixtures (suspensions) of different concentrations of active ingredient and then infected with Septonia apii spores.
After 14 days of storage in the incubator, the fungal attack of the treated celery leaves and that of control experiments is assessed and the effectiveness is calculated in percent. (According to the formula K-B
K where K = infection of the control leaves and B = infection of the treated leaves).

The following examples are intended to explain the production of some fungicidal agents according to the invention in more detail.
example 1
50 parts of 2-acetonylthio-benzothiazole are mixed with 10 parts of protective colloid, e.g. dried sulphite waste liquor, 2 parts of an adhesive, e.g. Sodium caseinate, and 33 parts of a powdery carrier, e.g. Kaolin, champagne chalk or bentonite, mixed and finely ground in a Kolloplex grinder (particle size approx. 20-30 y). Suspended from 0.1 to 0.2% in water, the wettable powder obtained is eminently suitable for combating apple powdery mildew.
Example 2
2 to 5 parts of 2-acetonylthio-6-chlorobenzoxazole are finely ground with 98-95 parts of talc. The dusting agent obtained in this way can be used to dust plants or parts of plants to protect them against fungal attack.
Example 3
By grinding together 10 parts of 2 acetonylthio-benzothiazole with 82 parts of kaolin or chalk and mixing with 8 parts of sulphite waste liquor, a concentrate is obtained which, when mixed with water, results in a fungicidal spray that is excellently suited for treating the above-ground parts of plants.
Example 4
20 parts of 2-acetonylthio-benzoxazole, 40 parts of xylene and 30 parts of ethylene oxide condensation products of alkylphenols are mixed. The emulsion concentrate obtained in this way can be used to prepare emulsion for crop protection. A concentrate for the preparation of less wetting emulsions is obtained by mixing 25 parts of the above active ingredient, 67 parts of xylene and 8 parts of a polyethylene oxide esterified with castor oleic acid.
For the present invention, protection is only claimed insofar as it does not concern a treatment of textile fibers for the purpose of their refinement which is not suitable for the textile industry.
