Toilet siphon The usual toilet siphons have shapes which, because of their sharp corners, offer a relatively high hydraulic resistance to the water flow and therefore tend to become clogged. The invention aims to avoid these disadvantages. It relates to a toilet siphon which has a vertical inlet channel and an outlet channel that initially rises vertically and then opens out horizontally.
The toilet siphon according to the invention is characterized in that the inlet channel and the outlet channel are separated from one another by an at least approximately vertical wall which, at the point where it is intersected by a vertical center plane running through the toilet siphon, is an extension of a part of the above Wall of the inlet channel forms.
The invention also relates to a method for producing this toilet siphon. The same is characterized by the fact that the siphon body is manufactured by injection molding in a form which is provided with only two cores, one of which to form the inlet channel and the rising part of the outlet channel, the other on the other hand to form an arcuate mouth part of the outlet channel serves.
In the accompanying drawing, an exemplary embodiment of the siphon and a variant are shown. It is: Fig. 1 a longitudinal section through the siphon, in a vertical central plane extending through the same, Fig. 2 a side view of the siphon without the lower cap, Fig. 3 a section along the line 11I-111 of Fig. 2 without Cap, FIG. 4 shows a representation of a variant corresponding to FIG. 3.
The siphon body 1 has a vertical A running channel 2 and an outlet channel 3, which the latter opens out horizontally at 4. The outlet channel 3 goes from its vertically rising part 3 'with the arcuate mouth part 3 "in the horizontal direction, so that the hydraulic resistance is low.
The two channels 2, 3 are separated from each other by the at least approximately vertical wall 5, which is an extension of the part above it at the point where it is cut by a vertical center plane running through the toilet siphon (see. Fig. 1) the tubular wall 10 of the inlet channel 2 forms. On the siphon body, a cap 6 is screwed down, which has a hemispherical curved inside, wel che the water from the inlet to the outlet channel deflects.
The redirection of the water is done in this way with only very little hydraulic opponent, which largely prevents the siphon from clogging with dirt, hair and the like.
If necessary, the cap can be easily unscrewed, for which purpose it is provided with ribs 7 on which it can be grasped.
The outside of the siphon body is provided with the thread 8 required to screw on the cap and also with a connecting thread 9 at the mouth 4 of the outlet channel 3. The tubular part 10 of the siphon body 1 containing the upper part of the inlet channel 2 could also be provided with a connecting thread at the top, but in the present case is smooth and can therefore be connected to a threaded connector in a known manner with a union nut and pinch seal.
The tubular part 10 goes down into the arc-shaped part 11 of the siphon body, which contains the un tern part of the inlet channel and the entire outlet channel. The clear width of the opening of the inlet channel is preferably about 28 mm and the clear width of the opening of the outlet channel is about 38 mm. The siphon body 1 is preferably manufactured by injection molding, using a mold that is provided with only two cores. These cores are shown in phantom in Fig. 1, while the shape itself is not shown.
One core 12 has two parallel parts 12 ′ and 12 ″, which serve to form the inlet channel and the rising part of the outlet channel, respectively. After the injection molding has taken place, the core is pulled out of the body 1 in the direction of arrow 13 In order to facilitate this, the wall 5 is designed in such a way that it becomes thinner towards the bottom.
The core 14 serves to form the arched mouth part 3 ″ of the outlet channel and is pulled out of the body 1 with a slight rotation in the direction of the arrow 15.
In Fig. 1, a variant is indicated by dash-dotted lines for the lower part of the wall 5. In this variant, the lower part of the practically vertical wall 5 thickens downwards and has a semicircular rounding 16 at its lower end, which is an even further improvement in the flow technical relationship. FIG. 4 shows a section corresponding to FIG. 3 for this variant; It can be seen from this figure that the wall 5 in this case does not have an essentially circular arc-shaped profile, but, apart from the thickening below, is flat. The rounding 16 could also be attached to the profile according to FIG. 3.
In the variant described, the siphon body can no longer be manufactured in a mold with only two cores in the injection molding process, unless the thickened lower part of the wall 5 is subsequently attached to it, for example by welding.
The material used for the toilet siphon is preferably a plastic, for example polystyrene or polyamide.
