Control device with three-pressure control valve on compressed air brakes, especially for rail vehicles In the claim of the main patent, a control device with three-pressure control valve on compressed air brakes is described, in which a monitored line connection containing the sensitivity opening is present between the chamber of constant pressure and the main air line and which is characterized by the Combination of a monitoring device that keeps the cross section of the sensitivity aperture reduced,
if the connecting line between the constant pressure chamber of the control valve and the main air line is already open when there is still residual pressure in the brake cylinder, and only fully releases it when the brake cylinder is at least approximately emptied, with an accelerator for tapping the main air line, which is in the standby position, if the connection between the chamber of constant pressure and the main air line is open when there is residual pressure in the brake cylinder, but the cross-section of the sensitivity opening is still reduced by the said monitoring device.
This ensured that the risk of so-called static exhaustion in the release area of the brake from 4.85 atmospheres main line pressure to full release despite the open connection between the main air line and the control chamber of constant pressure due to the cross-sectional reduction of the sensitivity opening practically does not occur can, whereby due to the operational readiness of the accelerator, the reaction speed of the brake is not reduced despite this line connection.
The elimination of the static risk of exhaustion and thus the achievement of the overall combinatorial effect, however, require that the cross-sectional reduction of the sensitivity opening actually remains until the piston system in the three-pressure control valve has reached its end position when it was completely dissolved.
This security for the sufficiently long Be the cross-section reduction should according to the additional invention in a particularly simple and completely reliable manner by coupling means between the monitoring device for the cross-section of the sensitivity opening and a one. Part of the accelerator forming, mounted in the three-pressure control valve and displaceable with its piston system, be achieved, which prevent the release of the full cross-section of the sensitivity opening by the monitoring device until the piston system of the three-pressure control valve has at least approached its end position.
In the drawing, an embodiment of the additional invention based on the device shown in the main patent is shown in a schematic manner.
According to this illustration, a three-pressure control valve 5 of the type corresponding essentially to the control valve of the main patent is connected to a main air line 1 via a line branch 3. In this three-pressure control valve 5, a piston 7 is mounted displaceably against the force of a spring 9, which piston separates a space 11 from another space in the control valve housing. The volume of the space is increased by a container and together with it forms the control chamber 13 of constant pressure. A line 15 leads from this control chamber to a valve 17, the plate of which is pressed onto its seat by a piston 19 against spring force.
In line 15, which is albzusperrende from valve 17, the sensitivity opening 21, which is decisive for the responsiveness of the control valve, is incorporated, to which line 15 subsequently opens into branch 3 of main air line 1. The valve 17 and the sensitivity opening 21 are thus connected in series in the line 15. The cross section of thesensitivity opening 21 can be reduced by a needle 23 to be inserted into the opening with play, the actuating piston 25 of which is slidably mounted in a cylinder 27 built into the housing space 11.
The cylinder 27 has openings 29 in the manner shown in the drawing, so that the respective pressure of the main air line 1 prevailing in the space 11 acts on the surface of the piston 25 on the left in the drawing. Opposite to the needle 23 directed ge, the piston 25 carries a stylus 31, the tip of which scans a truncated cone 33 as a portion of a sleeve 37 displaceably mounted at 35. This sleeve belongs to an accelerator which is still to be described in its remaining parts and is influenced by a spring 39. On its upper, open end in the drawing, there is a valve 41, which in turn is mechanically connected to the piston 7 via a correspondingly shaped linkage 43.
This piston 7 actuates a tubular member 47 via this linkage 43 and a further connecting part 45, which carries the return piston 49 in the manner customary with three-pressure control valves. The upper, open end of the pipe member 47 cooperates with a spring-loaded inlet valve 51, which has a seat 53, while the lower, also open pipe end serves as an outlet, which continues in a housing opening 55 into the open.
In the position of the end of the tubular member 47 lifted from the valve 51, the first valve rests on its inlet seat 53 and thus breaks a connecting line 57 between the brake air reservoir 59 and the brake cylinder 61.The latter cylinder is vented via the opening 55 for this purpose. Two further lines 63 and 65 are connected to the line 57 leading to the brake cylinder 61, of which the line 63 is used to pressurize the piston 19 actuating the shut-off valve 17 with compressed air from the overpressure prevailing in the brake cylinder.
The line 65 leads to a housing 67 belonging to the accelerator, in which a piston 69 is moved against the action of a spring when the overpressure imparted to it via the line 65 is applied. This piston 69 actuates a valve 71 which, when placed on a seat 73, serves to take up compressed air from the main air line 1 or from the chamber connected to this 11 of the control valve from a front chamber 76 or a line 77 separates. The extraction chamber 75 is permanently connected to the outside air via a throttle opening 79.
The line 77 opens on the cylinder 27, the space 81 of which is separated from the space 83 by the Kol ben 25, which in turn communicates via the openings 29 with the interior 11 of the control valve and thus with the main air line 1. The actuating piston 25 for the needle 23 and the stylus 31 is therefore on its left side in the drawing under the pressure of the main air line and on its right side under the overpressure building up in the antechamber 76. Added to this is the effect of a spring 85 on the latter side. The sleeve 37 is open on both sides and contains a channel 87.
The operation of the described Einrich device is as follows: When the brake is released, the parts take the position shown in the drawing. As a result of the lack of overpressure in the brake cylinder 61, the valve 17 is open so that the Steuerkam mer 13 is filled with air from the highest control pressure in the main air line 1 via the line 15 and the sensitivity opening 21. The same pressure also prevails in space 11 of the control valve, so that its pistons 7, 49 are held by the spring 9 in their lower end position, in which the inlet valve 51 is closed and the brake cylinder is vented.
The valve 41 rests on the sleeve 37 and blocks the space 11 from the sleeve inner channel 87 and the cylinder space 81 connected to the latter. The space 81 and the prechamber 76 connected to it via the line 77 are connected to the dispensing chamber 75 when the valve 71 is open and vented together with the latter via the throttle opening 79.
The piston 25 is thus acted upon on one side by the maximum pressure in the main air line, but on the other side only by the relatively weak spring 85, with the result that the needle 23 is pulled out of the sensitivity opening 21 and the stylus 31 is pressed against the surface of the truncated cone 33 and thus the sleeve 37 holds. The full cross-section of the sensitivity opening 21 is available; the control valve therefore has its normal response sensitivity.
If the locomotive driver causes a brake by lowering the pressure in the main air line 1, the throttling effect of the sensitivity opening 21 results in only one-sided pressure reduction in space 11 compared to the control chamber 13 of the control valve and thus in an upward movement of the piston 7 against the effect the spring 9. Already at the beginning of this upward movement, the valve 41 is lifted from the end of the sleeve 37 because the latter cannot join in the piston movement due to the initially continuing blockage by the pin 31.
The compressed air from the room 11 and thus also from the main air line 1 can thus flow through the sleeve channel 87 into the cylinder 81 and further into the antechamber 76 and into the extraction chamber 75, and this extraction of the main air line causes a further intensification of the pressure reduction with the consequence of a correspondingly rapid opening of the inlet valve 51 with the closure of the outlet of the brake cylinder 61.
The pressure that builds up in the latter leads to the action of the piston 19 and thus to the separation of the control chamber 13 from the main air line by the valve 17 and to the action of the piston 69 with the closure of the valve 71 in between filled and slowly emptying through the throttle opening 79 drainage chamber 75 separated from the antechamber 76, and in the latter the equalization pressure achieved in the meantime in main air line 1 and space 11 is thus maintained.
With this balancing of pressures, the piston 25 is only acted upon on one side by the spring 85, moves to the left in the drawing and removes the end of the stylus 31 from the surface of the truncated cone 33 of the sleeve 37, so that the latter is now more the Valve 41 can follow until it hits the inner wall of the cylinder 81. In addition, the needle 23 is inserted into the sensitivity opening 21, which, however, has no functional significance when the valve 17 is closed.
Depending on the selected pressure reduction in the main air line 1, sooner or later, in a known manner, the return piston 49 is acted upon by the building up brake cylinder pressure that a new equilibrium is established and the inlet valve 51 is closed again without opening the outlet becomes. Only a further pressure reduction then results in a brake boost until it finally comes to an emergency stop. In these braking stages and also in the first release stages following full braking and caused by an increase in the main line pressure, nothing changes in the position of the valves 17 and 71; they remain closed due to the prevailing overpressures in the brake cylinder 61.
In the previous release course, the valve 41 has not yet reached the end of the sleeve 37 again, so that the latter is held by the spring 39 on the wall of the cylinder 27 acting as a stop even during these first partial solutions.
With further continuation of the release of the brake, whereby especially release processes without filling effect, as they occur, for example, in the rear car of a long train, are of interest, due to the relatively large size, due to the initial blocking of the sleeve 37, there is no disadvantageous time Delay in the acceleration effect enabled stroke of this sleeve, the valve 41 already before reaching the end position of the piston 7 back on the end of the sleeve 37 and thus closes the interior as well as the space 81 and the antechamber 76 from the space 11.
If the pressure in the main air line has risen again to approximately 4.85 atm, the residual pressure in the brake cylinder 61 can no longer overcome the force of the springs loading the pistons 19 and 69, and the valves 17 and 71 are opened by these springs.
Thus, when the valve 71 is opened, the space 81 and the front chamber 76 are connected to the vented dispensing chamber 75, which means that the accelerator is ready for operation again, since in the event of an intermediate braking from this not yet fully released state, the only thing to do is to lift the Valve 41 from the sleeve 37 would be required in order to let compressed air from the main air line 1 or the space 11 of the control valve 5 shoot into the bleed chamber 75.
With the pressure drop in chamber 81 caused by the opening of valve 71, piston 25 is subjected to unilateral overpressure from chamber 11, which in itself causes piston movement against spring 85 with the consequence of needle 23 being withdrawn from sensitivity opening 21 would mean.
This release of the full cross-section of the sensitivity opening 21 when the valve 17 is reopened, but with regard to the risk of static he created before reaching the end position of the Kol ben 7, 49, and does not occur because of the Stylus 31 is prevented by its contact with the truncated cone 33 from a corresponding axial movement.
The arrangement and shape of the truncated cone 33 shown in the drawing ensure that the pin 31, despite its abutment, cannot exert any braking effect on the following downward movements of the sleeve 37 carried along by the piston 7 via the valve 41; its braking effect is only effective when the sleeve moves in the opposite direction. In addition, the slope of the conical surface is selected so that the needle 23 has only left the sensitivity opening 21 and released its full cross section when the lower end position of the piston 7 and thus also the sleeve 37 has been reached.
In this end position, the parts then again assume the position shown in the drawing.
The described coupling of the monitoring device for the cross section of the sensitivity opening with the accelerator ensures that in the release area before the full solution, in which the line connection between the main air line and the control chamber of constant pressure is released again via the sensitivity opening, the cross-section reduction of this sensitivity opening tion is secured by parts of the already operational Be accelerator until the movable piston system of the three-pressure control valve has at least approximately reached its end position.
