folgende genannt: Acetessigsäureanilid, Acetessig- säure-chloranilide, -dichloranilide, -toluidide, -chlor- toluidide, -xylidide, -anisidide, -phenetidide, Acet- essigsäure-dimethoxy-cyananilid, -2,5-dimethoxy-4- chloranilid,
In sog.

Process for the production of azo pigments The present invention relates to a process for the production of greenish to reddish-tinged yellow pigments of the azo series, which are characterized by their good lightfastness and the property of practically not migrating in paints or thermoplastics. The invention also relates to the use of these new azo pigments for pigmenting natural and artificial high molecular weight substances in bulk.
It has been found that azo pigments that are fast to light and migration are obtained very well if compounds of the formula are used
EMI0001.0008
where X represents a linear bridge member comprising two carbon atoms, in which the carbon atoms are saturated by oxygen, hydroxyl groups and / or hydrogen, tetrazotized and combined with those azo components which contain a coupling ketomethylene group and no acidic, water-solubilizing groups.
The linear bridge member X of the tetrazonium component consists of two identical or different members from the series of carbonyl, hydroxymethylene and methylene groups.
The ver usable for the preparation of the diazo components can be prepared from known starting materials by known methods who the amines. For example, 4,4'-dichloro-3,3'-dinitrobenzil is obtained from the already known 4,4'-dichlorobenzene by nitration. Under suitable reduction conditions, this gives 4,4'-dichloro-3,3'-diaminobenzil. From this compound or directly from the 4,4'-dichloro-3,3'-dinitrobenzil, the 4,4'-dichloro-3,
Represent 3'-diaminobenzoin and hydrobenzoin. Mixtures of such amines can also be used which correspond to the general formula 1, for example technical mixtures of various reduction stages, such as those used under certain conditions in the hydrogenation of 4,4'-dichloro-3,3'-dinitrobenzil attack. For the preparation of 4,4'-dichloro-3,3'-diaminobenzils and those compounds which are derived therefrom by reduction or hydrogenation of the diketo group, other methods known per se can also be used.
The tetrazotization of these diamines takes place, for example and most easily, in a mineral acid agent with sodium nitrite in the cold.
As azo components which can be used according to the invention and have a coupling ketomethylene group, there are both those which contain the group in an open chain and those in which it forms part of a heterocyclic ring. The azo components must not contain any acidic, water-solubilizing groups, such as the sulfonic acid and the carboxyl group. From the class of acyl acetic acid derivatives containing the ketomethylene group in the open chain, z. B.
The following named: acetoacetic anilide, acetoacetic acid chloranilide, dichloroanilide, toluidide, chlorotoluidide, xylidide, anisidide, phenetidide, acetoacetic acid dimethoxy-cyananilide, -2,5-dimethoxy-4-chloranilide,
Benzoylacetanilide and diacetoacetic acid-o-tolidide. Compounds which contain the ketomethylene group in a heterocyclic ring are z. B. the 5-pyrazolone derivatives such as 1-phenyl-3-methyl-5-pyrazolone, 1-phenyl-3-carbäthoxy-5-pyr-azolone, the three 1- (chlorophenyl) -3-methyl-5-pyr- azolones, the tolylmethyl-5-pyrazolones, also z. B.
Dioxyquinolines.
The coupling of the diazonium compounds with the azo components takes place according to methods known per se.
Surface-active compounds, such as wetting agents, dispersants and / or protective substances, can optionally be added during or after the preparation of the pigments. For this purpose, for example, solutions of alkali soaps of higher fatty acids, rosin soaps or emulsions of fats, paraffins, waxes or fatty oils, as well as plasticizers such as are common in the paint and plastics industry, and with the help of soap or other emulsions are suitable - gates can be manufactured.
By adding such auxiliaries, it is possible to obtain pigments with a soft texture. If necessary, the pigment can also be prepared in the presence of other organic or inorganic substrates. After isolation, the dyes can be converted into the desired use form, if necessary with the addition of organic binders and / or diluents , for example in the form of powders, doughs, semi-solid or solid concentrates (master batches). When preparing dough in orga African agents, the so-called flushing process is advantageously used.
The azo compounds prepared according to the invention are particularly suitable for pigmenting high molecular weight, natural lacquers and artificial substances such as rubber, paints and lacquers, organic polymerization, polycondensation and polyaddition products. They are also suitable for pigmenting spinning masses for synthetic fibers, especially for viscose, and for pigment printing textiles.
The greenish to reddish yellow pigmentations and prints obtained are distinguished by their remarkable lightfastness, partly by the purity of their hues, by transparency and by their good fastness to oil and varnish. The pigments produced according to the invention have thermoplastics, for example polyvinyl chloride; little or no tendency to hike. In so-called stoving enamels, they are particularly resistant to heat and varnish.
In the following examples, unless otherwise noted, the parts are parts by weight and the temperatures are given in degrees Celsius. Parts by weight relate to parts by volume as the kilogram is to the liter.
Example 1 15.45 parts of 4,4'-dichloro-3,3'-diaminobenzil are heated for a short time in 75 parts by volume of 10N hydrochloric acid, the mixture is cooled and 250 parts of ice water are added . Thereupon 1N sodium nitrite solution is tetrazotized at 5 to 10 with 100 parts by volume.
In addition, 18.4 parts of acetoacetanilide are dissolved in 900 parts of water of 65 and 12 parts by volume of 10N hydrochloric acid. Another 110 parts of crystalline are added. Sodium acetate, dissolved in 330 parts of water, and 1.5 parts of triethanolamine oleate, emulsified in 60 parts of water, are added. 0.4 part of decolorizing charcoal is then added to the tetrazo solution and this is allowed to run through a filter over a period of 1 hour while stirring to form the 8 to 10 cold acetoacetanilide suspension.
After stirring for 2 hours at 20, it is filtered off, washed and dried at 60.
The pigment obtained in this way can be used, for example, to produce very pure, greenish-tinged yellow polyvinyl chloride films of high transparency and very good lightfastness, which are practically migration-fast.
If, in this example, 18.4 parts of acetoacetanilide are replaced by 19.7 parts of acetoacetic-p-toluidide and 1500 parts of water of 80 plus hydrochloric acid are used to dissolve, a somewhat redder, stronger yellow with similar fastness properties.
The 4,4'-dichloro-3,3'-diaminobenzil used in this example is represented as follows: 279 parts of powdered 4,4'-dichlorobenzil are slowly introduced into 500 parts by volume of fuming nitric acid with stirring, the temperature being 60 should not exceed. The mixture is then stirred for a further 6 hours at 63 to 67, allowed to cool and the reaction mixture is introduced into 2700 parts of ice water. The yellow precipitate is suctioned off on a suction filter, washed with ice water and alcohol and dried.
