Description

   <Desc/Clms Page number 1>

 Process for cleaning watch stone bearings and rods for carrying out this process Even with the use of special cleaning baths and pointed wooden sticks, microscopically detectable dust particles stick to watch stone bearings again and again, which can increase the friction of the shafts stored in them to a harmful extent. It has been shown that when using pointed sticks made of hardened polyvinyl chloride material and other electrostatically chargeable plastic material, such dust particles can be removed from the bearings much more effectively.

  The present invention therefore relates to a method for cleaning watch jewel bearings using pointed rods and is characterized in that rods made of an electrostatically chargeable plastic material are used.

  A rod for carrying out the method according to the invention is characterized in that it consists of an electrostatically chargeable plastic material. When cleaning the stone bearing by means of such a stick, the same is electrostatically charged as a result of the friction on the stone bearing, whereby the dust particles in the bearing are attracted to the stick and can thus be removed.
