Piezoelektrischer Druckgeber
Piezoelectric pressure transmitter
The invention relates to the sealing and insulation of the downstream end of a piezoelectric pressure transducer.
In a known piezoelectric pressure transducer, the sealing and insulation of the contact piece consists of an elastic ring which is pressed at the outer end of the instrument by a spring between one shoulder of the transmitter housing and one shoulder of the contact piece. This sealing ring is built in with internal and external radial play so that it can expand on all sides when the instrument is heated and can take on its original shape again when it cools.
Such a seal, however, does not endure violent vibrations, as it occurs for B. can occur when indexing internal combustion engines.
The aim of the invention is to design the sealing and insulation while maintaining the free expansion possibility of the sealing ring in such a way that it can withstand even stubborn and persistent vibrations.
According to the invention, this is made possible by the fact that the elastic insulating and sealing ring is arranged at one end of a housing chamber located on the current take-off side of the pressure transducer and concentric to the transducer axis and that a second, elastically flexible insulating and sealing ring is also located between a shoulder of the other end of the chamber and a spring-loaded ring which is axially slidable on the contact piece is pressed.
In this way, the contact piece is no longer elastically connected to the housing socket at a single point, but rather at two spaced-apart points, which significantly improves the stability. The occurrence of shaking vibrations of the contact piece, namely in the transverse direction, as well as the intensity of such vibrations is considerably restricted. The more compact and more stable arrangement then has the effect that the load always remains evenly distributed over the entire contact surfaces of the insulation material and thus no undue plastic deformations can occur.
In the drawing, two exemplary embodiments of the subject matter of the invention are shown in longitudinal section.
The pressure transmitter shown in FIG. 1 belongs to the class of sleeve indicators, the crystal column consisting of two quartz rods 1 and 2 being built into a steel sleeve 3 closed on the pressure side. The rods are pretensioned by the steel cylinder 4 pressed into the sleeve. The annular membrane 6 rolled into the housing 5 protects the annular gap 7 from the penetration of pressurized gases.
When the quartz column is stressed in the longitudinal direction, a positive charge arises on the outer surface of the quartz cylinder 1, 2, which is earthed by the steel sleeve 3 and the housing 5. The opposing charge generated at the parting planes of the half-cylinders, on the other hand, is absorbed by a thin copper sheet 8 and fed by means of the conductor 9 through the insulating quartz tube 10 to the metallic contact piece 11, in which the conductor 9 is clamped by a pin 21.
The mating contact piece 29 forwards the charge.
To seal the active parts of the piezoelectric pressure indicator and to isolate the contact piece 11, a mainly concentric housing chamber in which the sealing elements are installed is provided at the removal end of the instrument. The chamber is formed by the bushes 12, 13 pressed into the housing 5, which have frustoconical bearing surfaces 14, 15. The main seal consists of the ring 16 made of resilient and electrically highly insulating material, such as. B. Teflon, the secondary seal from the ring 17 made of the same material. Both insulating and sealing rings have the shape of a truncated cone jacket, the imaginary cone tips of which are turned away from each other.
The contact piece 11 is provided with a shoulder 18 which is conically shaped on one side and lies against the sealing ring 16. The support ring 19 is axially slidable on the shaft 20 of the contact piece 11, but is snugly guided and rests with its outer, likewise conical seat surface against the secondary sealing and insulating ring 17. The pretensioned coil spring 22 pushes the two shoulders 18, 19 apart in the axial direction and transmit the spring tension to the sealing rings 16, 17. The compressed sealing material can yield somewhat towards the ends. Temperature-related changes in length and volume of the insulating material are also compensated for. The secondary sealing and insulating ring 17 is extended towards the inside of the chamber in the form of a longer sleeve, the main sealing ring 16 in the form of a shorter sleeve 23 or 23 '.
These lie on the one hand against the chamber sleeves 12, 13, and on the other hand against the bush-like extension 24 of the support ring 19.
This type of sealing and insulation has significant advantages. What is particularly important is the compact assembly of the whole, in that the contact piece 11 is very rigidly, but nevertheless elastically, connected to the housing 5 at its two ends by the sealing rings 16, 17. The contact piece therefore endures violent vibrations without being able to shake and cause damage to the relatively soft sealing material or to the lead wire. The extension pieces 23, 23 'of the sealing rings 16, 17 are also well held and protected from breaking out due to the guidance by the extended support ring 19. Nevertheless, all pieces of the seal can withstand the thermal expansions such. B. occur when indexing an internal combustion engine, easily follow.
For inspection purposes, the entire seal can easily be removed and reinstalled by first removing the locking pin 25 and the contact pin 21 and then pressing the outer chamber sleeve 13 out of the socket of the housing 5 by grasping the shoulder 27.
Instead of leading the contact piece 11 itself to the outside, it could be shortened according to FIG. 2 and the support ring designed as a plate 28, which takes over the current transmission to the counter contact piece 29. This embodiment has the further advantage that the interior of the chamber is completely sealed off. In this case, the mating contact piece 29 is pressed resiliently against the plate 28 so that it cannot be lifted off the sealing ring 17 when the union nut 30 is tightened.
