Cutting unit on a dry shaving apparatus The invention relates to a cutting unit on a dry shaving apparatus with a cutting plate to be attached to the skin with openings for the passage of hair and a cutting member to be cooperated with the cutting plate. Usually, the cutting plate is placed on one side of the skin, so that the hairs to be cut penetrate through the openings and are cut off on the other side of the cutting plate by the cutting element cooperating with the cutting plate. The thickness of the cutting plate and the size of the openings are decisive for the length of the hair that remains on the skin after cutting.
The thickness of the cutting plate and the size of the openings are preferably chosen so that the skin penetrates so far into the openings of the cutting plate that the skin part that has penetrated the furthest is just in the cutting plane of the cutting plate. This most penetrated part of the skin is generally in the middle of the openings. At this point, the hair could be cut off close to the skin surface. However, it is precisely these hairs that are not supported by a boundary wall of the openings of the cutting plate, while the hairs supported in this way do not lie on the part of the skin that has penetrated the furthest into the openings.
The result is that both the unsupported hair due to bending and the supported hair are only cut off at a certain distance from the skin surface.
The invention aims to alleviate the aforesaid evil. According to this, the cross-sections of each opening parallel to the cutting plate surface have a constant size and form an angle other than 90 with the cutting plate surface in the direction in which the openings extend through the cutting plate.
In this way, the hairs that penetrate the furthest into the openings can be supported from the boundary wall of the openings so that they can be cut off close to the skin surface. In addition, the openings on the skin-contacting side of the cutting plate are partially delimited by acute-angled edge parts, so that a kind of rasp effect is created. As a result, the hair lying flat on the skin is lifted and guided into the openings. The openings can easily correspond to the usual openings perpendicular to the cutting plate surface, e.g.
B. be attached by milling slots or drilling round openings in the cutting plate. To make the openings it is only necessary to change the position of the tools in relation to the cutting plate.
It is also possible to enlarge the openings in the cutting plate compared to before, since the inclined boundary walls can also support the hair on the skin part that has penetrated the furthest into the openings. With this in mind, the thickness of the cutting plate can be increased. This results in a better cutting effect over a longer period of time, since a thin cutting plate tends to bend out, which means that irregular wear of the cutting plate and cutting organ must occur on their contact surfaces.
The best shaving results are obtained when the angle mentioned has a value of at least 45, preferably 60. In this way a sufficient number of openings can be made in a surface unit.
So that despite the acute-angled edge parts of the openings on the side of the cutting plate touching the skin, the cutting plate can be easily moved over the skin, the edge of this edge can be rounded parts.
To achieve an advantageous shaving effect by means of a dry shaving apparatus with a cutting unit according to the inven tion, the direction of movement of the cutting element can match the projection of the direction in which the openings extend from the movable cutting element away from the cutting element, so that the cutting edges of the cutting organ cooperate with sharp cutting edges on acute-angled edge parts of the openings. In this way, the hairs which penetrate the furthest into the openings of the cutting plate are cut off by the movable organ in cooperation with the parts of the cutting plate which are closest to these hairs.
The cutting unit according to the invention, in which the thickness of the cutting plate, as noted above, can be selected to be greater than the usual thickness without bathing, and the openings can be proportionally enlarged with this in mind, the inherent disadvantage of the known dry razors can also Consideration of the difference in the elasticity of the skin in different people and in different parts of the skin.
As a result of these differences, the size of the openings and the thickness of the cutting plate are chosen in such a way that the most flexible skin can penetrate the openings just enough to just get into the cutting path of the movable cutting element. Less elastic skin parts penetrate less far into the openings in this type of dry razor, so that the hair on these skin parts can only be cut at a certain distance from the skin surface. This choice was necessary because otherwise the elastic skin parts themselves would be cut off with the hair.
In a dry shaver with egg nem cutting unit according to the invention, with a cutting plate behind which a moving cutting element with cutting edges is arranged, the cutting organ can @verden driven in a back and forth movement with a component of movement perpendicular to the cutting plate surface, the cutting edges be moved into the openings of the cutting plate. In this way, the skin can by no means be damaged, since the penetrated skin is pushed away from the openings as a result of the movement of the cutting element, while the hair is nevertheless cut off.
The cutting edges act together with that edge part of the openings that is acute-angled.
In the accompanying drawings, some embodiments of the subject matter of the invention are shown, namely Fig. 1 shows a section through the cutting plate with a cooperating cutting member of a known cutting unit: Fig. 2 is a section through a cutting plate according to the invention with a their cooperating cutting organ; 3 shows a section through a cutting plate according to the invention with a cutting element which interacts with it and of which a movement component is perpendicular to the surface of the tendon plate.
The part shown in Fig. 1 of a known cutting plate 1 has openings 2 which, for. B. can have a round or elongated shape in all possible variations. On the lower side of the cutting plate 1 are cutting edges of a cutting deorgans 3, which is displaceable in the direction of the arrows 4. The thickness of the cutting plate 1 and the size of the openings 2 are selected such that a hairy skin part 6 penetrates the openings 2 so far that the skin area 7 that has penetrated the furthest lies in the plane of the cutting member 3 lying on the cutting plate 1 containing the cutting edges.
A hair 5, which is just on the point 7 of the skin, as shown in the part of FIG. 1 on the right in the drawing, can thus be cut from the cutting edge 3 very close to the skin surface, but this hair is not from the boundary walls of the opening 2 supported so that it can bend under the action of the cutting edge, whereby the shaving effect is impaired.
As is shown in the left-hand part of the figure, the hair in question 5 is supported on the wall of the opening 2; from this figure, however, it can be seen that the hair 5 is not on the point 7, so that a part 8 of this hair will remain.
By making the openings 2 smaller and, with this in mind, reducing the thickness of the cutting plate 1, the aforementioned disadvantage could be eliminated. However, certain requirements are placed on the strength of the cutting plate because of the required mechanical rigidity.
FIG. 2 shows a cutting plate 12 according to the invention in a section analogous to FIG. 1; the openings 13, of which the section shown in the figure through the axis (with cylindrical openings) and transversely to the longitudinal direction (with elongated openings), have a cross section parallel to the cutting plate surface F, the size of the thickness (thickness) of the Cutting plate is constant.
The figure shows two cutting lines 14 and 15 of such sections with the plane of the drawing. The lengths of these lines 14 and 15 are the same. In addition, the openings extend in the direction 16 through the cutting plate 12. The direction 16 includes an angle a with that of the cutting plate surface F which is smaller than 90. The figure shows, like FIG. 1, a part of the skin 17; It can be clearly seen from the figure that hair 18 on the most penetrated point 19 of the skin is supported by a limiting wall 20, so that an effective cutting action between the cutting plate and the cutting edges 21 can take place.
The cutting edges be because of continuously in the direction of arrows 22, which coincides with the projection of the direction 16 on the cutting plate F area. The edges of the spitzwink time edge parts 23, which limit the openings 13 on the outside of the cutting plate 12, are rounded.
FIG. 3 shows a cutting plate 12 which is completely identical to the cutting plate 12 according to FIG. 2, the drawing scale of which is, however, larger the openings 25 in the cutting plate 32 are larger than usual, the skin 26 penetrates further into the opening.
As a result of the movement of the cutting member 23, there is no risk of the culmination points 27 of the skin 26 being cut off; you will be. pushed back into the openings 25, while the hairs 28 are cut off as a result of the interaction between the cutting element 23 and a delimiting wall 29 which forms an acute angle with the plane of the cutting plate.
