Process for the production of plastic-bonded abrasive bodies I) The invention relates to a method for the production of abrasive bodies bonded by plastic.
It is known to use natural resin and animal or textile fibers for the production of resin-bonded grinding wheels to achieve a soft bond of the abrasive grains. It is also known.
Abrasives made of soft materials such as silicon carbide, corundum, natural or artificial pumice stone, glass powder, etc., as well as organic plastics, such as. B. Polvisobutylen, Polv stcrol, etc., by mixing the freezing grains with crushed plastic grains and, if a thermoplastic plastic is used, the mixture is pressed. It is also known to fill a mixture of grinding grains and a liquefied plastic into a mold for the production of grinding bodies.
The known methods have the sewing part that, as shown enlarged in FIG. La, the abrasive grains 1 are embedded in the plastic compound 2 at a greater distance from one another. As a result, abrasive grains are often removed prematurely from the grinding body, especially since plastic compounds are usually only released. have a low strength.
To overcome the disadvantages of the known methods, it is proposed according to the invention to first fill abrasive grains into a mold provided with nozzles and venting channels and corresponding to the abrasive body to be produced, and then to thicken them through visual vibrations and pressing, and then through the nozzles under pressure inject a plastic into the mold and then harden or solidify it.
The method of the invention makes it possible to achieve a high density of the abrasive grains, which allows high grinding performance.
However, the method of the invention also makes it possible, in particular, to fill molds completely evenly with abrasive grains which, for example, are provided with strong profiles and / or are used to produce disc-shaped grinding bodies of larger diameter.
In the case of particularly complex shapes, especially those with a pronounced profile, it is advisable to work with so-called lost shapes made of porcelain, glass, wood, rubber or the like, which are reinforced by being supported during the pressing surrounds a steel jacket.
The method according to the invention can be used both for the production of rotating abrasive bodies and hand tools, e.g. B. files and such grinding tools, such as honing tools, clips and the like are provided with grinding stones or grinding strips.
Some exemplary embodiments of the method according to the invention are explained below with reference to the drawing.
Show it :
1b to 1d three different representations of cross sections through an abrasive grain structure, on an enlarged scale,
2 shows the cross section through an injection mold with an inserted steel axle, with a core and filled in abrasive grains,
3 shows the cross section through a steel mold with an inserted, well-drilled flat steel core and filled grinding grains,
FIG. 4 shows the cross section through the form according to FIG. 3,
5 shows half the cross-section through a grinding tool with abrasive grain strips inserted into its jacket.
In all figures, the hard material abrasive grains are denoted by 1 and a plastic compound by 2.
Fig. Lb shows a dense abrasive grain skeleton in which the individual abrasive grains 1 are close to one another and support one another.
According to FIG. 1e, a certain porosity is achieved in that soluble or etchable granular substances 3 are added to the abrasive grains 1 before they are filled into the mold and are removed again from its edge zones after the grinding body has been completed. These grains evenly penetrate the grinding body, so that the desired porosity can be created again by means of a solvent or etching agent as it wears.
An open and rough grinding surface can also be achieved by brushing the sanding grains into the mold with brittle, granular substances, e.g. B. made of kera mischeni material, glass and the like, are mixed. When working or dressing the grinding wheel, these brittle substances will break out first, so that a certain porosity of the tool jacket is removed.
In order to create special spaces for receiving grinding chips, strips 4 of a corresponding profile according to Fig. 1 (l can be used. These strips are inserted in a non-locking manner before the abrasive grains are poured into the mold, so that they can then after the filling and thickening of the After removing the grinding wheel from the mold, the surface of the grinding wheel is worked over by dressing and opened up so that the strips can be removed again by loosening them so that spaces are created that are used to collect and discharge the grinding chips.
According to FIG. 2, a mold 5 intended for the production of a sliding body is provided with a base plate 8, a press ram 7 and two ventilation or drainage channels 11 'and 11 ″. A filling opening is formed by a channel 10 and a pull-shaped one Formed opening 12. A steel clasp 9 is inserted into the base plate 8, onto which a core 14 provided with a profile 13 is imprinted.
After the slip grain 1 has been poured into the mold, it is set to vibrate in a manner known per se by ultrasound, so that the slip grains are classified and twisted. Under the influence of the vibrations, abrasive grains also get into the center of the profile 13 of the jet axis 9. After they have been arranged, the entire structure of the filled abrasive grains is compacted by pressures that are exerted by means of the punch 7 and also during the injection of the Plastic compound can be obtained into the mold through the channel 10 on the right. The cavity between the sanding grains is filled with the plastic compound.
When the plastic is injected, the air escapes from the mold through the ventilation ducts 11 'and 11 ". It is advisable to dose the amount of plastic so that a small part of it escapes from these ducts 11' and I 1" during the injection. with steps out.
In order to achieve an open, porous structure of the grinding tool, immediately after the transfer molding or injection molding with the mold closed, a gas, for example, is pressed through the filling opening 10, 12, whereby a part of the not yet hardened or solidified plastic passes through the vent. and drainage channels 11 'and 11 "are flushed out again.
In order to remove plastic from the mold by the action of centrifugal forces, the mold is placed in a centrifuge. that plastic can escape again from the channels 11 'and 11 ". The central axis of the mold will run radially to the centrifugal joint axis, with the channels 11' and 11" pointing outwards.
The same effect as with the injection of gases or the action of centrifugal forces can be achieved by placing the mold under negative pressure so that the not yet hardened or not yet hardened.
Plastic is partially removed from the mold. Since the plastic itself sticks to the abrasive grains in thin layers during these processes, cementing of the abrasive grains with one another is guaranteed.
The form shown in FIGS. 3 and 4 client for the production of a file-like hand-grinding tool, which is intended to be used for dressing clamped hard metal turning tools. The mold consists of the two parts 5 ′ and 5 ″. The core 24 inserted into the mold (FIG. 3) has a rectangular cross-section and is provided with bores 15.
The core 24 is pointed on one side so that L'r can easily be inserted into a file handle.
After the core 24 has been inserted, the two-part mold, closed at the bottom by a plate 8, is filled with abrasive grains 1, which are pressed together by means of the punch 7 after the action of vibrations.
The plastic 2 is then injected through the openings 10 and 12, so that the steel core 24 is surrounded on all sides by an abrasive-grain plastic compound and also through the abrasive-grain or abrasive grains that have penetrated into the bores 15. Plastic mass is firmly anchored.
According to FIG. 5, abrasive grain strips 16 'and 16 "are to be inserted into the cylindrical jacket 34. For this purpose, two or more of the cylindrical jacket 34 have two or more strips extending along its length or also radially, covered by the strips 17' and 17" and at the bottom provided by a plate 8, corresponding to FIG. 3, sealed grooves of any cross-section. In order to give the floating grain strips a firm fit, heads 26 'and 26 "provided with heads are screwed into the grooves within the grooves. The strips are filled with floating grains 1 and plastic compound in the manner already described.
