Electrical high-performance fuse The invention relates to a high-performance fuse with the arc being extinguished by a flow of pressurized extinguishing agent which is generated by the arc produced when the fuse wire burns through.
In this fuse, according to the invention, two parallel connected interruption points are arranged, one of which is closed and the drneker-generating arc arises there, while the other interruption point is constantly open and the arc generated by the first interruption point to overflow between the Contacts of the open extinguishing point is forced to then be deleted there by the outflowing pressure extinguishing agent.
The first and ge closed interruption point is formed by a fusible wire, while the second open interruption point is formed by a fixed pin contact, which is in front of a Stromfüh-generating outflow opening at a certain distance. The fixed contact protrudes into the quenching chamber and thus bridges a certain length of the arc generated at the other interruption point, so that it is forced to continue burning between the open quenching point.
To increase the cut-off line, two open extinguishing points can be arranged in the arcing chamber and the fixed pin contacts can be connected to one another in such a way that the pressure-generating arc generated at the first interruption point is bridged and continues to burn at the two open extinguishing points. To increase the effectiveness, the fastest migration or delivery of the arc from the first to the second interruption point is of the greatest importance, since the loss of time of a few thousandths of a second has a very negative effect on the extinguishing process.
The quickest migration of the arc root points is enforced by the raised contacts arranged in the arcing chamber, to which the arc root points immediately jump over, shifting the original arc axis in the arcing chamber. The arc root points initially burn in an insulating piece and are therefore not firmly seated and are also forced to jump onto the raised contacts.
By shifting the arc axis, the arc in the quenching chamber is brought into the area of a bridging contact arranged in the quenching chamber, so that it jumps over to this and is thereby shortened by a certain length. The arc burning between the arc root contacts is driven to the second interruption point by the pressure extinguishing agent flowing out and extinguished there. It is advantageous to arrange two or more open extinguishing points with the corresponding bridging contacts for the second interruption point.
To reduce the current to be interrupted, a resistor can be switched on in the circuit in front of the fixed extinguishing contact in the open interruption point. For better control of the outflowing extinguishing agent, it is advantageous to close the outflow opening with a valve which only allows the pressure extinguishing agent to escape from the extinguishing chamber when there is a certain increase in pressure.
In the drawing, five execution examples of the invention are shown.
In Fig. 1, an extinguishing chamber is closed by two caps 2 and 3, which are used to supply and discharge the current. In the caps 2 and 3 through holes 4 and 6 are provided, through which a fusible wire 9 is inserted into the arcing chamber 1. The fuse wire 3 is firmly closed by the screws 5 and 7 on the caps; this connection represents the first and closed point of interruption.
In the cap 2 there is also an outflow opening 8, in front of which there is a fixed contact 12 arranged in the arcing chamber 1 at a certain distance. The fixed contact 12 is attached to an electrically lei border base 10, which is on one side in the immediate vicinity of the fusible wire 9 and is formed on the other side as a connecting bolt 11, on wel chem the connection 13 is attached to the Cap 3 is electrically connected. The part of the base 10 facing the fusible wire 9 is designed as an arc root point contact.
The open quenching point 8 and 1-9i with the connection to the cap 3 represents the second and open interruption point. The first and (electrically) closed interruption point and the second and (electrically) open interruption point are parallel to one another through the caps 2 and 3 switched. The device works as follows: When the fuse wire is melted by a current, an arc is formed between the caps 2 and 3, which generates a large increase in pressure in the arcing chamber 1. By entering the extinguishing chamber 1.
protruding pin contact 12 with its base 10 designed as a Liehtbogenfusspunktkontakt and the electrical connection to the cap 3, the arc burning between the caps 2 and 3 is bridged over its entire length up to the distance of the pin contact 12 from the outflow opening 8. As a result of this metallic bridging, the arc burning between the caps and 3 can no longer burn there and is forced to jump over to the open interruption point formed by the pin contact 12 and the outflow opening 8 and continue to burn there.
The pressure extinguishing agent produced by the large arc in the extinguishing chamber 1 flows out through the outflow opening 8. The small arc now burning there at the fixed contact 12 and the outflow opening 8 is easily extinguished by the outflowing pressure extinguishing agent.
You can make the arc extinguishing even easier if you turn on a resistor in the elec trical connection from the pin contact 12 after the cap.
For better storage and control of the extinguishing agent flowing out of the extinguishing chamber, it is advantageous to have the outflow opening with. complete a valve, wel Ches responds at a certain overpressure in the extinguishing chamber 1.
The extinguishing agent can be liquid, gas in any form, hard gas, etc. in the extinguishing chamber.
In Fig. 2, two open transfer points are arranged.
The quenching chamber 15 is closed off by the caps 16 and 17- serving as the supply and discharge of the current. Through bores 18 and 19 for the introduction of the fuse wire 31 into the arcing chamber 15 are arranged in the caps 16 and 17. The fuse wire 31 is firmly connected to the caps by the screws 22, 23. 1> icse arrangement represents the first and closed interruption point.
On the caps 16 and 17, the outflow openings 20 and 2.1 are also provided, which together with the fixed contacts 24 and 30 represent two open interruption points. The fixed contacts 24 and 30, which are arranged in the arcing chamber 15, are placed on the base 25 and 29, which also serve as arc base contacts.
The fixed contacts 24 and 30 are electrically connected via the connections 26 and 28 and the resistor and, compared to the two outflow openings 0 and 21, form the second and open interruption point with two open extinguishing points.
The closed interruption point 16, \ _ '2, 31, 23 and 17 lies parallel to the interruption point 16, \ _' 0, 24, 26, 27, 28 and 21, which is open at two points. The device works as follows: When the Fusible wire 31 creates an arc between the caps 16 and 17, which generates a large increase in pressure in the release chamber.
Due to the metallic connection of the fixed contacts 24 and 30, the burning arc is bridged for no length, except for the distances between the pin contacts 30 and 24 with the outflow openings 21 and 20, so that the arc is only placed between the extinguishing, through the fixed contacts and outflow openings 30; 21 and 24, 20 are formed, can continue to burn.
By the outflowing pressure extinguishing agent generated by the large arc through the outflow openings 20, 21, the arc burning at the fixed contacts is easily extinguished. The resistance connected between the pin contacts 24, 30 makes it easier. the extinction of the two small arcs. But you can do without the resistor without affecting the way it works.
In Fig.3 is. the quenching chamber 31 closed by two caps 32, 33 to which the power supply lines 34, 35 are connected. The fuse wire 36 is connected to the connection contacts by the screws 37, 38 and is guided through the insulating pieces 39, 40 into the quenching chamber 3. In the chamber 3'1 a long bridging contact 41 is provided, which is fastened by the screw 42. The contact 41 is located in the vicinity of the fuse wire, but outside its axis.
The contact 41 runs on one side as a contact 33, serving to seat the arc root point, which stands in front of the opening 44, which is designed as a hollow contact. On the opposite side of the contact 41 is more or less removed from the cap 33 to be sorted. In addition to the isolated introductions 39, 40, raised contacts 45, 46 are seen, which are arranged on the one hand near the outflow opening 44 and on the other hand are at a certain distance from the contact 41, 43.
The device works as follows: When the fuse wire 36 melts, a burning arc arises between the power supply lines 34, 35 or the caps 32, 33, which creates an increase in pressure in the quenching chamber 31. Through the insulating pieces 39, 40 the arc is immediately forced ge to look for a base in the quenching chamber 31 and finds this in the caps 32, 3! 3 opposite increased contacts 45, 46, on which it jumps. When the arc jumps to the contacts 45, 46, the arc burns in a different axis and thus reaches the area of the bridging contact 41.
The contact 41, which is arranged in a certain length in the quenching chamber 31, bridges the arc and shortens its length. The arc only burns between contacts 4'5, 41 and 41, 46.
The immediate shifting of the arc axis at the beginning of the burning arc ensures that the long arc generating the great pressure increase burns for only a very short time and continues to burn with a short length on the contacts 45, 41 and 41, 46 without a break.
As a result of the pressure generation, the extinguishing agent located in the extinguishing chamber 31 flows out through the opening 44, and the arc burning between the contacts 45, 41 is applied to the contact. 43 driven. The shape of the contact 41, 43 favors the rapid wandering of the arc after the contact tip 43. The arc is now burning between the contacts 43, 44, where it is easily extinguished by the escaping pressure extinguishing agent. The outflow of the extinguishing agent is supported by the additional pressure increase of the arc burning between the contacts 41, 46.
- You can increase the effectiveness by providing an open extinguishing point on the other cap. 4 shows such an arrangement with two bridging contacts provided in the quenching chamber.
The quenching chamber 50 is closed by the caps 51, 5 "3. The contacts 53, 54 for bridging the arc are arranged in the quenching chamber 50. The fuse wire 55 is connected to the caps 51, 5" by the screws 56, 57 and is inserted into the arcing chamber through the insulating pieces 58, 59. The contacts 60, 61 are arranged at a higher level than the caps 51, 5'2 and serve as the base point for the arc. The contacts 60, 61 are at a certain distance located away from the axis of the fuse wire 55.
The con tacts 53, 54 are formed after the caps 51, 52 in the shape of the base of the light arc serving, which are in front of the openings 64, 65 formed as a hollow contact.
The contacts 6 0 , 61 are thus arranged between the two interruption points which are formed by the two insulated entries 5 &, 59 and the open contact points 64, 62 and 63, 6'5. The shape of the contacts 60, 61 adapts to the shape of the contacts 53, 54 and promotes (read rapid migration of the arc.
The arrangement works as follows: When the fuse wire 55 melts, an arc is created which corresponds to the length of the quenching chamber and which generates a large increase in pressure. As a result of the introduction of the fuse wire 55 through the insulating pieces 58, 59, the arc burns in these insulating pieces and thus has. no fixed base point in the extinguishing chamber at the beginning of the fire; the arc is compelled to look for one. The contacts 60, 61, which are raised opposite the caps 51, 52, offer the arc these base points and the arc immediately jumps. on these contacts 60, 61 over.
As a result of this jump, the original arc axis, formed by the two insulating pieces 58, 59, is displaced, and the arc axis is now determined by the contacts 60, 61. But this means that the arc has come into the area of the bridging contacts 53, 54, and most of the arc is bridged. The arc now only burns with the small partial lengths between the contacts 60, 53 - 53, 54 - 54, 61.
By the aasströmende pressure extinguishing agent, which was generated by the first, long-burning arc, the arc between the contacts 60, 55 and 54, 61 is driven onto the tip contacts 62, 63 and now burns in the outflow openings 64, 65. The arc burns. also between the contacts 53, 54 and generates an additional pressure increase.
Due to the outflowing pressure extinguishing agent, the arc in the outflow openings 64, 6 ': 5 is extinguished with the greatest possible certainty.
To facilitate the extinguishing process and reduce the current to be interrupted, a resistor or other current-limiting device can be switched between the bridging contacts 53, 54.
The insulating pieces 58, 59 are advantageously to be made from a material which develops gases which have a beneficial effect on the extinguishing process. In Fig. 5 a fuse is described ben in which in the second interruption point four open extinguishing points angeord- Iiet. are.
The quenching chamber 70 is closed by the caps 71, 72, and the fuse wire 73 is soldered to the same. The Sehmelzdralrtes 73 is introduced into the release chamber # 70 through the insulating pieces 74, 75, next to which there are the contacts 76, 77 that serve as base contacts for the arc.
The elongated contacts 78, 79 for bridging the arc can be found in the arcing chamber. The contacts 78, 79 are designed as base contacts 80, 82 and 83, 81 both toward the cap side and toward the extinguishing chamber side, facing the outflow openings 8-1, 87, 86 and 85, which are designed as hollow contacts.
The following open erasure points result: 80, 84 - 82, 87 - 83, 86 and 81, 85. The hollow contacts 86, 87 can be connected directly or via a resistor. The exit of the openings is advantageously separated by an insulating wall 88.
The device works as follows: When the fuse wire 73 melts, an arc is created which burns for the length of the quenching chamber 70 and generates an increase in pressure. The arc burning without a fixed base immediately finds a base in the raised contacts 76, 77 opposite the caps 71, 72. This shifts the arc axis and the arc comes into the area of the bridging contacts 78, 79, through which it is mostly bridged and now more in the partial lengths between the contacts 76, 78-78, 79-79, 77 burns.
Due to the escaping pressure extinguishing agent and the shape of the contacts 78, 79, the arc is driven as quickly as possible to the base contacts 80, 82, 83 and 81 and burns. now in openings 84, 87, 86 and 85. The escaping pressure extinguishing agent easily extinguishes the arc, which has broken up into four small arcs. For the described Ausführungsbei games gas in any form, liquid, etc. can be used as extinguishing agent.
Instead of the fuse wire, a movable switch pin can be used to pull the arc.
The outflow openings can be closed by a valve for controlling the outflowing extinguishing agent.
