Angled pipe quick coupling In pipe quick couplings, in which a toggle lever lock holds the male part of the coupling in the coupled position against a sealing member inside the female part of the coupling, various means have been proposed for limiting the angulation.
For this purpose, the invention comes up against (read the free end of the male part at the maximum value of the angle on the inside:, ne @; en the female part.
The subject of the invention is shown in the follow with reference to the drawing, for example. It show: Fi-. 1 shows a vertical longitudinal section through a coupling according to the invention with the pipes coupled together in alignment, FIG. a similar vertical section.
<, about with. one tube angled upwards at an angle, FIG. 3 shows a side view of a support belonging to the coupling, FIG. 4 shows a toggle lock in a S'elinitt along the line A-A in FIG. 5 and FIG. 5 shows this lock in plan view.
In Fig.1 is. on one end of one pipe 1 the male part 2 of the coupling an_, ebraelit and on the opposite end of the other pipe 3 the female part 4.
The male part here consists of a ring 5 that is arched in longitudinal section. Between the pipe end and the inside of this ring there remains an annular intermediate bracket 6, which connects to the inside of the pipe via a number of holes 70 1 is related.
The pipe end 1 is surrounded by a support 7. ITm. is a pin 8 of the in-use position overhead part of this support. Finally, the clamping lever 9 of a toggle lever closable pivoted.
This tensioning lever is provided with a pin 10 on which the coupling pawl 11 of the lever lock is pivotably mounted at one end. This pawl 11 is also formed at its outer end to a hook 12 with two opposing gripping surfaces 13 and 14.
The hook 12 can be suspended in a bracket 15 attached to the nut part 4. The mother part 4 can be provided with a bracket. But here it is provided with several dia metrically opposite brackets 15 of this type.
III a peripheral, inwardly open groove 16 at the free end of the nut part 4, a sealing ring 17 is inserted.
The ring 5, which forms the male part 2 and is applied to the tube 1, is designed at its free end with an axial extension in the form of a collar 18.
When the tubes are bent (FIG. 2), this collar 18 serves as a stop for the nut part and limits the bending to a certain maximum permissible value. The sealing ring 17 is then partially pressed against the collar 18, which generally also complete seal is retained at the greatest angle.
There is no risk of the male part 2 being forced out of the female part 4 when it is bent.
So that the tension between the male part and the mother part, which is sufficient for a complete seal, is maintained in the upper part, even when the angle is severe. Part of the support 7 an arcuate slot 1.9 provided in a plane perpendicular to the pin 8 (see FIG. 3), through which the pivot pin 8 of the clamping lever 9 passes. The two ends 20 and 21 of the slot 19 do not lie at the same distance from the free end of the tube 1.
If the tubes 1 and 3 are in alignment (Fig.l), or if they are kelt downwards, the pin 8 will slide into the upper end 20 of the slot 19, which is the opposite tube 3 is closest. When the lever lock is tightened, the vault ring 5 is then pressed against the sealing ring 17 with the necessary force.
When the tube 3 is angled upwards (Fug. 2), the pin 8 must be moved to the Uix tern end 21 of the slot 19, which end is somewhat further from the opposite tube 3 than the upper slot end 20. When the lever lock is tightened, the male part 2 is then pressed further into the courage part 4, which means that the vault ring 5 is pressed against the sealing ring 17 with the necessary force.
If, on the other hand, the lever 9 is pivoted upwards, the pawl 11 presses with the engagement surface 14 against the bracket 15 and thereby pushes the tubes 1 and 3 apart with their respective coupling parts. According to the modification of the toggle lock shown in FIGS. 4 and 5, the clamping lever 9 is in one with one. Holding member 26 provided support bearing 27 is mounted.
The clamping lever 9 is double-limbed here and with the. free, front ends of its legs on a transversely through the support bearing 27 going pin 8 pivotably ge superimposed.
The coupling pawl 11 is also double-legged, and the free, rear ends of its legs encompass the front end part of the clamping lever 9 and are mounted on a pivot 10, which is supported by the two legs of the clamping lever 9 at a point between the mounting point 8 of the clamping lever and its rear end. is. The coupling pawl 11 is. in the usual way with a coupling hook 12 and a nose 14 arranged opposite the sem, which latter serves to interact with the eye arranged on the corresponding coupling part. and the separation of the coupling parts after opening the closure, as already described, facilitates tert.
It is also seen a locking device, consisting of a pawl 28 and a locking lug 29. The pawl 28 is rotatably mounted on the lying between the legs of the clamping lever 9 part of the Drehzap fens 10, and the locking lug 29 is on the corresponding part of the support camp 27 provided.
The pawl 28 here has the form of a lever and is actuated by a spring 30 arranged on the pivot 10, one end of which is attached to the pawl 28 and the other end of the clamping lever 9's one of the angles. This spring 30 loads the pawl 28 in the direction of the locking position in which the pawl with the locking lug 29 is in a handle.
The locking hook 28 and the support bearing 27 are formed with corresponding, cooperating curved contact surfaces that the locking pawl slides under the action of the spring 30 over the bearing 2. when the lever 9 is guided into the locking position. Shortly before this position is reached, the tooth 31 of the pawl 28 passes the locking lug 29 to then snap under the lug 29 thanks to the spring.
Finally, the toggle lock is locked, and the clamping lever 9 can only be swiveled up when the pawl 28 is released from the locking lug 29 by hand. The precaution is chosen so that the release of the pawl cannot happen too easily or accidentally.
The holes 70 leading into the space 6 could possibly be dispensed with. Through the holes, however, the same pressure is obtained in the space 6 that prevails in the pipeline during operation. This contributes to some extent to increasing the tightness of the coupling.
The nut part 4 could possibly be seen with more than two locking brackets 15 ver.
The pawl 11 does not necessarily have to be designed with an engagement surface 14.
