Da die Tiefe jeder Vertiefung 7 bzw. 8 jedes Blechstückes 1 bzw. 2 gleich ist der Dicke d der in ihr lhegenden Zunge @6 bzw: 5 des andern Blechstückes 2 bzw. 1, liegen alle freien Oberflächen der einen Seite der zu sammengefügten Blechstücke, das heisst die Oberfläche 9 des Blechstückes 1, mit Aus nahme ihrer in den Vertiefungen 7 liegenden und ihrer zu den zusätzlichen Zungen 21 ge hörenden Teile, und die Oberfläche 10 des Blechstückes 2, mit Ausnahme ihrer in den Vertiefungen 8 und ihrer zu den zusätzlichen Zungen 22 gehörenden Teile, in der gleichen Ebene;
The invention relates to a method for mutually connecting two edge portions of at least one surface structure made of permanently deformable material, for example for connecting an edge portion of a sheet metal stump with an edge portion of another sheet metal piece, and the Use of this process for the production of a hollow body by mutually connecting the two adjacent edge parts of a, for example, a brick stump, cylinder,
Truncated pyramid or prism bent sheet metal piece or for the production of a pipe, for example.
The method according to the invention is characterized in that tongues which extend outward from this and are separated from one another by spaces are formed on each of these edge parts along a reference line, that the two edge parts are then joined together in such a way that their reference lines meet cover and in each case one of the said tongues of one edge part lies on a part of the surface of one side of the other edge part that extends inwardly from the said reference line in the area of one of the named spaces, and that finally the tongues of each edge part on the other Edge part are attached.
The drawing illustrates, for example, embodiments of the method according to the invention.
1 shows a view of the edge portions of two sheet metal pieces to be connected to one another before joining them together, according to a first embodiment of the method, FIGS. 2 and 3 each show a section along the line II-11 and along the line III-III of FIG. 1 and from Fig. 8. F'ig. 4 shows the same edge parts as FIG. 1 after joining the two sheet metal pieces,
Fig. 5 and '6 each show a section along the line V-V and along the line VI-VI in FIG. -1 and in FIG. 9, FIG. 7 a section along the line VII-VII from FIG. 4, FIG. 8 in a view of the edge portions of two pieces of sheet metal to be connected, formed according to a second embodiment of the method, before they are joined together,
9 shows the same edge parts as FIG. 8 after the two sheet metal pieces have been joined, FIG. 10 shows a: Section along the line XX of FIG. 9, FIG. 11 shows the edge parts of two with one another formed according to a third embodiment of the method pieces of sheet metal to be connected before joining,
FIG. 12 in section along the line XII-XII from FIG. 11, these edge parts during the fitting together, FIG. 1'3 a section along the line XIII-XIII of FIG. 12, FIG. 14 a section corresponding to FIG. 13 after the two sheet metal pieces have been joined together, and FIG. 15 a section corresponding to FIGS. 13 and 14 after fastening the tongues of each sheet metal piece on the other sheet metal piece.
Each of the two in Fig.1 to 3 Darge presented edge portions of two flat sheet metal pieces 1 and 2 of the same thickness d has along a reference line 3 or 4 alternately from this reference line outwardly extending tongues 5 and -6 and from this Inwardly extending reference straight indentations 7 or 8 of the surface 9 or 10 of the visible in Figure 1 side of the sheet metal piece 1 or 2 concerned fenden.
The outline of each tongue 5: or 6 has the shape of a semicircular arc 11, to which two mutually parallel sections 12, which are at right angles to the reference straight line 3 or 4 of the sheet metal piece 1 or 2 in question, adjoin; with r is the radius of the semicircular arc 11, with s the distance between its center and the relevant reference straight line 3 and 4 respectively.
The tongues 5 and 6 who formed the on the two sheet metal pieces 1 and 2 by punching, the sheet metal forming the tongues being left in the same thickness d and in the same alignment as the outside half of the recess 7: or. 8 of the sheet metal piece 1 or 2 in question, that is to say the surface 13 of each tongue remains in the same plane as the part of the surface 9 or 10 of this sheet metal piece located outside the depressions 7 or 8.
The shape and dimensions of each recess 7 or 8 correspond exactly to the outline of each tongue 5 or 6, i.e. it also follows a semicircular arc 14 of radius r, the center of which is at a distance s from the reference straight line 3 or 4 of the sheet metal piece in question and to which two parallel straight sections 15 which are at right angles to this reference line are connected. The depth t of each recess is equal to the thickness d of the two pieces of sheet metal.
This Ver depressions are in the edge portion of each Blechstückcs, preferably in the same Ar process, in which the tongues 5 or ti are punched out, generated by embossing, in the surface 17 or 18 of the surface 9 or 10 opposite sheet metal side opposite each depression 7 and 8, an elevation 1'9 or 20 is formed.
The mutual spacing of the depressions 7 or 8 of each sheet metal piece 1 or 2 is so large that the distance between the straight sections 26 of the outlines of two which are straight to the reference 3 or 4 of the sheet metal piece at right angles adjacent elevations 19 and 20 is equal to the mutual spacing of the straight sections 12 of a tongue 5 and 6, respectively.
An additional tongue 21 or 2'2 is formed between two tongues 5 or 6 of each bleeh piece 1 or 2, which tongue extends from the same section. the reference straight line 3 or 4 extends outwards, from each of which a recess 7 or 8 extends inwards, and has the same shape and dimensions as the first-mentioned tongues 5 and '6. In particular, the mutual distance between the straight section 25 of the outline forming a right angle with the reference line 3 or 4, and each additional tongue 21 or 22, is equal to the mutual distance between the straight sections 26 of two adjacent elevations 19 and 20 of each sheet metal piece.
These additional tongues 21 and 22 are separated from the adjacent tongues 5 and 6 by incisions 23 and 24, the width of which is equal to the sheet metal thickness d, and which extend up to the reference straight line 3 and 4, respectively. In contrast to the sheet metal of the tongues 5 and 6, that of the additional tongues 21 and 22 is not. in the same escape. like the sheet located outside the recess 7 or 8, but in the same alignment as the sheet metal forming the bottom of this recess.
After the edge parts of the two sheet metal pieces 1 and 2 have been made quiet in the described \ ', is on the bottom of each recess 7 or 8 and on the adjoining surface of each additional tongue 2'1 or 22 on one side 9 or 10 of each sheet metal piece as well as on the surface of each tongue '5 or 6 and on the surface area between the elevations 19 and 20 on the other side 17 of each sheet metal piece a metal-binding synthetic resin, for example araldite (registered trademark) of the CIBA.
The edge portions of the sheet metal pieces 1 and 2 are then joined together in such a way that the straight line 3 of the piece 1 and the straight line 4 of the piece \? covers, each tongue 5 of the piece 1 comes to lie in a recess 8 of the piece 2 and each tongue 6 of the piece 2 in a recess 7 of the piece 1, as well as each additional tongue 2.1 of the piece 1 between two elevations 20 of the piece 2 on the surface 18 thereof and each additional tongue of the piece 2 between two elevations 19 of the piece 1 on the surface 17 thereof, as shown in FIG. Show $ to 7.
Each tongue 5 or 6 of a piece of sheet metal then touches with its entire free outline 11, 12 the Be limit 1.1, 15 of the receiving recess 8 and 7, so .that the two sheet metal pieces against mutual displacement in the direction of their reference line 3, 1 and are held against further pushing against each other at right angles to these reference straight lines along their common plane.
An additional safeguard against mutual displacement of the two sheet metal pieces in the direction of the straight lines 3, 4 is provided by the fact that the additional tongues 21 and 2-2 of each piece 1 and 2 with the straight sections 2.5 of their outline fit exactly between the straight sections 2 of the outlines of two adjacent elevations 20 and 19 of the other sheet metal piece 2 and 1, respectively.
Against mutual displacement perpendicular to their common plane, the two sheet metal pieces are held in one direction by the tongues -5 and the additional tongues 22, in the opposite direction by the tongues 6 and the additional tongues 21.
Finally, each of the first-mentioned tongues 5 and 6 and each additional tongue 21 and 22 of each sheet metal piece 1 or 2 is fastened to the other sheet metal piece 2 and 1, respectively, that the now lying on top of one another, carried onto parts of the two sheet metal pieces Synthetic resin layers are subjected to the treatment prescribed for their mutual union, for their firm and permanent adhesion to the sheet metal pieces and for setting.
This treatment can, depending on the type of synthetic resin used, storage for a certain time, heating to a certain temperature and / or the application of a perpendicular to the plane of the two sheet metal pieces on the tongues 5, 6 and the additional tongues 21, 22, acting Embrace pressure. After this treatment, all said tongues of each sheet metal piece adhere firmly to the other sheet metal piece and prevent the two sheet metal pieces from being pulled together in the direction of their common plane and their hold caused by joining together against mutual displacement in any other direction can be lifted.
Since the depth of each recess 7 or 8 of each sheet metal piece 1 or 2 is equal to the thickness d of the tongue @ 6 or: 5 of the other sheet metal piece 2 or 1 lying in it, all free surfaces of one side of the sheet metal pieces that are joined together are located, that is, the surface 9 of the sheet metal piece 1, with the exception of their lying in the wells 7 and their belonging to the additional tongues 21 parts, and the surface 10 of the sheet metal piece 2, with the exception of their in the wells 8 and their to the additional tongues 22 related parts, in the same plane;
this would not be the case with a normal overlap joint of the two sheet metal piece edge parts. This type of connection is therefore ideally suited for the production of existing walls consisting of several pieces of sheet metal, along which a medium is to flow unhindered at high speed; the surfaces 9 and 10 can be used, for example, as the outer surfaces of an aircraft or Sehnell vehicle or as inner walls of a gas or liquid channel.
In the embodiment of the method illustrated by FIGS. 8 to 10, the edge portions of the sheet metal pieces 1 and 2 to be connected to one another are formed according to FIG. 8, the sections according to the lines 11-II and III-111 drawn in this figure are the same as the sections shown in Fig. 2 and 3 for Fig.1 of the first embodiment. The shape of the tongues 5 and 6,
the shape of the delimitation of the indentations 7 and 8 and the outline shape of the additional tongues 21 and 22 and thus also the shape of the incisions 23 and 24 are trapezoidal in this second embodiment.
The outline of each tongue 5 or 6 has two straight sections 27 which converge from the reference straight line 3 or 4 of the sheet metal piece in question, and an apex section 28 parallel to this reference straight line. The shape and dimensions of each recess 7 or 8 correspond exactly to the outline of each tongue 5 or 6 and accordingly has two straight sections 29 which converge from the reference straight line 3 and 4 at the same angle as the sections 27 of the tongues , and an @ vertex! section 30 parallel to the reference line.
The additional tongues 2: 1 and 22 again have the same shape and dimensions as the tongues <B> 5 </B> and @ 6; its outline has two converging straight sections 31 which, together with the corresponding sections 27 of the two adjacent tongues 5 and 6, delimit incisions 23 and 2'4. At their apex, measured on the reference line 3 or 4, these incisions have a width corresponding to the sheet thickness d and are therefore trapezoidal. The increases 19 resp.
20, which are ent in the surface 17 or 18 (Fig. 2 and 3) of the two sheet metal pieces by the embossing of the depressions 7 and 8, are also trapezoidal, and their outlines each have two straight sections 2 on.
When joining the two sheet metal pieces 1 and 2 according to FIGS. 9 and 10, the straight line 3 of the piece 1 is made to coincide with that of the piece 1 as in the first embodiment.
Each tongue 5 of the piece 1 then comes to lie in a recess 8 of the piece 2 (FIG. 6) and each tongue 6 of the piece 2 in a recess 7 of the piece 1 (FIG. 5). Each additional tongue 21 of the piece 1 lies between two elevations 20 of the piece 2 on its surface 18 (FIG. 5), and each additional tongue 22 of the piece 2 lies between two elevations 19 of the piece 1.
The converging portions 27 of the outline of each tongue 5 or 6 touch the corresponding portions 29 of the limita- tion of the recess 8 or 7 receiving this tongue, so that the tongue is held in the recess laterally in the manner of a wedge driven into the recess. In order to. the apex section 28 of the tongue outline is not on that 30 of the boundary of the recess before this holding effect is reached, the distance of the section 28 from the reference line 3 or 4 of the tongue pointing to sheet metal piece 1 or 2 must not be greater than the Distance of the section 30 from the reference straight line 4 or .3 of the sheet metal piece having the recess.
In contrast to the first exemplary embodiment, the sections 31 of the outline of the additional tongues 21 and 22 touch: each sheet metal piece 1 and 2 no elevations of the other sheet metal piece 2 or 1.
Attaching the tongues 5 or 6 of a sheet metal piece 1 or 2 on the other sheet metal piece \? or 1 happens. in this second exemplary embodiment by weld points <B> 33. </B>
The third embodiment, which is explained below with reference to FIGS. 11 to 14. differs from the second in the type of attachment of the tongues 5 and 6 of each sheet metal piece 1 and 2 on the other sheet metal piece 2 and 1, respectively.
As Fig. 11 shows, as in the two th embodiment at the edge portions of the two sheet metal pieces 1 and 2 are outward from their reference lines 3 and 4, he stretching trapezoidal tongues 5 and 6, ebiIdet; However, each of these tongues differs from the identically designated of the two system exemplary embodiment in that it has two rectangular tabs 34 of length a and width b in its outer part, which laterally over the extension of one of the straight outline sections 27 protrude.
Furthermore, in each sheet metal piece in the area of the inner 'part's of each of the two straight sections 29 of the boundary of each recess 7 and 8 or in the areas of the inner part of each of the two straight sections 32 of the outline of this recess opposite elevation 19 or 20, a slot-shaped opening 35 punched, the length of which is the same. the length a of each tab 34 and the width c by a certain fraction of the width b of each tab 34 is greater than the sheet thickness d.
The additional tongues 21 and 22 present in the first and second exemplary embodiment are missing here; instead, the edge of each bleeh piece follows between adjacent tongues 5 and 6 of the reference straight lines 3 and 4, respectively.
Before the edge portions of the two sheet metal pieces 1, 2 are joined together, each tab 3'4 is moved along a straight line 36, which forms the continuation of the adjoining section 27 of the tongue outline, by an angle smaller than 90, approximately 60 to 70, bent up against the side 17 and 18 of the sheet metal piece in question opposite the depressions 7 and 8 (FIG. 13); the two straight lines 36 of each tongue 5 and 6 converge from the reference straight line 3 and 4 at the same angle as the sections from 27 of the tongue outline.
The flaps 34 are expediently opened in the same operation as (read punching the tongues 5 or 6 and the openings 3'5 and stamping the depressions 7 or 8 of the sheet metal piece 1 or 2 concerned.
Since joining the two sheet metal pieces 1 and 2 takes place in this case in three steps: First, the two sheet metal pieces are pressed against each other at an obtuse angle in such a way that their reference lines 3, 4 coincide (Figs. 12 and 13) Example, the edge parts of the piece 1 located between the tongues 5 butted against the tongues 6 of the piece 2 and then pushed along these tongues 6 to the straight line 4 of the piece 2 Be.
The two pieces of sheet metal are then folded into the same plane about their congruent reference straight lines 3, 4 (FIG. 14). The tongues 5 of the piece 1 then come into the recesses 8 of the sheet metal piece 2 and the tongues 6 @ of the 'piece 2 to lie in the recesses 7 of the piece 1, with the upward flaps 34 of each tongue of a sheet metal piece 1 or 2 penetrate the openings 35 of the other sheet metal piece 2 and 1 and protrude on the opposite side of the recesses 8 and 7 ent of this other sheet metal piece over its surface 18 and 17, respectively.
Finally, the parts of the tabs 34 protruding beyond this surface are pressed against this surface 18 or 17 according to FIG. This pressing can be done by bringing the edge portions of both sheet metal pieces between two pressing jaws whose working surfaces 3-6, 37 are flat and are pressed against one another in such a way that they remain parallel.
Since the Lap pen 34 are not at right angles to the surface 18 or 17, but at about 60 to 70 to this, they are not compressed, but bent to these surfaces.
According to a variant of this third embodiment, each tongue 5 or 6 could have a tab of the type. The tab 34 and each sheet metal piece 1 or 2. in the area of the Scheitelabschnit th 30 of the boundary of each recess 7 or 8 have a slot-shaped opening of the type of opening 3-5.
The tabs of each sheet metal piece would like the tabs 34 of the third game Ausführungsbei bent up by 60 to 70, when joining the two sheet metal pieces to put through the openings of the other sheet metal piece and finally pressed against the surface of the opposite side of this other sheet metal piece.
Instead of two sheet metal pieces 1 and 2 ', two parallel, longitudinal edge portions of a single, for example, cylindrically bent sheet metal piece could be connected to each other in order to produce a cylindrical pipe. Where the above mentioned flat surfaces of the two sheet metal pieces that lie in the same plane, it must be understood for the connection of edge parts of a cylindrically bent sheet metal piece that it is cylindrical surfaces that are in the same ZT - lie relief area.
According to a further variant of each of the embodiments described, the depressions 7 or 8 could be missing in each edge section 1 or 2, but instead the tongues 5 or 6 in the area of the corresponding reference lines 3 or -1 to the side of the sheet, in which the recesses 7 and 8 mentioned are formed in the embodiments described, such. Be bent in an S-shape so that these tongues are offset by the sheet thickness d compared to the rest of this edge section, but are parallel to this.
The tongues 5 and 6 of each edge portion 1 and 2 would then come when they are joined to those parts of the other edge portion 2 and 1 that are now in alignment with the rest of the sheet metal, the depressions 8 in the types of execution described or 7 images. Any additional tongues 21 or
22 would then have to be cranked in the same way as the tongues 5 or <B> 6 "</B>, however, towards the opposite side of the sheet, so that when they are joined they assume the same position as in the embodiments described. Instead of sheet metal, the flat structures to be connected could also consist of thermoplastic synthetic resin, in which case all operations in which the material is deformed would have to be carried out above its softening temperature.
