Torsiowlocomotion apparatus
The present invention relates to a torsio-locomotion apparatus comprising two fixing devices for the feet of a patient, said devices being mounted on a movable plate around a horizontal mean position, a transmission device imparting to the plate a movement of. oscillation around its axis, and a transmission device imparting to the plate an oscillating movement in a surface which is at least approximately a vertical plane, the whole so that the plate is animated by a movement which is the result of both oscillating movements.
This device is characterized by the fact that the plate being carried by a cardan shaft mounted on a support, said shaft is threaded and that said plate has a threaded hole in its center and is screwed onto said shaft so as to allow to vary the distance between the chainring and the gimbal.
The appended drawing represents, by way of example, an embodiment of the object of the present invention.
Fig. 1 is an overview in perspective.
Fig. 2 is a partial view of the mechanism of FIG. 1.
The frame of the apparatus comprises tubular uprights I surrounding a platform 2 inside which is placed the control mechanism of a shaft 3 at the end of which is mounted a plate 4 provided with a fixing device 5 for each of the patient's feet. On the uprights 1 rests a hoop 6 arranged in a vertical plane and carrying pulleys 7 each rotating about a horizontal axis 8 integral with said hoop. Two cables 9, one end of which is fixed in the middle of a hanger 10 and the other end of which is fixed to a device 11 from which weights 12 can be suspended, pass over the pulleys 7, so that the weights 12 suspended along the uprights 1 exert a vertical traction from bottom to top on the hanger 10.
At the ends of the hanger 10 are fixed the straps 13 of a corset 14 adaptable to the bust of a patient. A belt 15, which can be fixed around the waist of said patient, is connected to the uprights 1 by elastic straps 16.
Thanks to these organs 14 and 15, adaptable to the chest of the patient, the upper part of the latter's body can be held in a flexible manner in a fixed position, while his feet are held by a fixing device 5 to the mobile plate 4. around a horizontal mean position.
The fixing device 5 of each of the feet is mounted on the plate 4 by means of movable supports making it possible to adjust the spacing, orientation and insertion at will.
clinaison of said fixing devices 5 that
you can then immobilize in the position
chosen by clamping controls. The
dimensions of the fasteners are re
adjustable so that they can be tightened
24 wooden shoes of variable dimensions
depending on the patient's malformations
and the size of his feet, these hooves 24 being
attached to the patient's feet using the
nières 25.
Plate 4 has in its center a
threaded hole 55 in which the end engages
upper end of shaft 3 which is threaded
so as to allow to vary the dis
balance between plate 4 and gimbal 42 on
which is mounted said shaft 3. A set screw
rage, provided with a handle 56, is engaged in
a threaded hole 57 of the plate 4 emerging
at right angles to the threaded hole 55 of this
platform so as to immobilize it
in its various positions on the threaded shaft 3.
Tray 4 still bears, on its upper side
higher, above the threaded hole 55, a
sleeve 58 intended to hide the end of
the tree which exceeds the level of this face su
lower when the tray 4 is brought into
a position close to the gimbal.
A transmission device not represented
tee communicates on the one hand to a wheel 28 of which
the axis 39 serves as a support for the gimbal 42, an oscillating movement around this axis 39,
and on the other hand to a connecting rod 33 connected to the ar
bre 3 by a lever 37 'and a ring 36', a
oscillation movement in a surface which
is at least approximately a plane worm
tical, the result of these two movements
oscillation being communicated to plate 4.
This device therefore makes it possible to communicate
in the pelvis of a patient, oscillating movements combined simultaneously in a horizontal and vertical plane, the amplitude of the oscillations of the plate 4 in the vertical plane depending on the spacing of the latter from the gimbal 42 on the shaft 3.
