Torsio-locomotion apparatus
The present invention relates to a torsio-locomotion apparatus.
This device is characterized by a fixing device for each of the feet of a patient, mounted on a movable plate around a horizontal mean position, said plate being secured at right angles to the upper end of a shaft whose the lower end is mounted in an articulated manner on a support, and by a transmission device communicating to said shaft an oscillating movement via an axis, one of the ends of which is secured at right angles to said shaft and The other end driven in an articulated manner in a vertical plane, perpendicular to said axis in the middle position, by a member of said transmission device, which causes it to describe an 8 lying in said vertical plane.
The accompanying drawing represents, by way of example, an embodiment of the object of the present invention.
Fig. 1 is an overview in perspective.
Fig. 2 is a view of the mechanism of FIG. 1.
Fig. 3 is a perspective view of a detail of FIG. 1.
The frame of the apparatus comprises tubular uprights 1 surrounding a platform 2 along one of the sides of which is located, in a housing 2a, the control mechanism of a shaft 3 at the upper end of which. is mounted a plate 4 provided with a fixing device 5 for each of the feet of a patient. On the uprights 1 rests a hoop 6 arranged in a vertical plane and carrying pulleys 7 each rotating about a horizontal axis 8 integral with said hoop.
Two cables 9, one end of which is fixed in the middle of a hanger 10 and the other end of which is fixed. to a device 11 from which weights 12 can be suspended, pass over pulleys 7, so that the weights 12 suspended along the uprights 1 exert a vertical traction from bottom to top on the hanger 10. At the ends of the hanger 10 are fixed the straps 13 of a corset 14 adaptable to the bust of a patient. A belt 15, which can be fixed around the waist of said patient, is connected to the uprights 1 by elastic straps 16.
Thanks to these organs 14 and 15 adaptable to the chest of the patient, the upper part of the latter's body can be held in a flexible manner in a fixed position, while his feet are maihtenus by a fixing device 5 to the movable plate 4 around from an average horizontal position.
The fixing device 5 of each of the feet is mounted on the plate 4 by the intermediary of movable supports comprising a horizontal axis 17 transverse to the foot, a vertical axis 18 mounted in a central perforation 19 of a slider 20 which can be fitted. move parallel to the short sides of the plate 4 in a slide 21 constituting the upper part of a slide 22.
Each of the slides 22 can move at right angles to the slide 20 in a slide formed by L-shaped irons, 23, arranged parallel to the long sides of the plate 4, so that the spacing can be adjusted as desired, the orientation and inclination of said fixing devices 5, which can then be immobilized in the chosen position, by means of clamping controls 231, 232, 233 and 234. The actual dimensions of the fixing devices 5 are adjustable so that they can be tightened on wooden clogs 24 of variable dimensions according to any malformations of the patient and the size of his feet, these clogs 24 being fixed to the patient's feet by means of straps 25.
This plate 4 is mounted rigidly per pendularly to the upper end of the shaft 3, the lower end of which is mounted in an articulated manner on a support 27, of adjustable height by means of a gear controlled by a crank 28; the articulation of the lower end of the shaft 3 to the upper end of the support 27 is constituted by a ball joint 29.
An axis 30, one of the ends 31 of which is integral at a right angle to said shaft 3, and the other end 32 of which is driven in an articulated manner in a vertical plane, perpendicular to said axis 30 in the middle position, by a connecting rod 33 of the transmission device which makes it describe an eight lying in said vertical plane, communicates to said shaft 3 an oscillating movement.
The connecting rod 33 hingedly connects the rod 34 of a first balance B1 oscillating about an axis 35 passing through its upper end to the upper end 36 of the rod of a second balance B2 oscillating t about an axis 37 crossing its middle part, the axes 35 and 37 of the two balances B1 and B2 being parallel. The transmission device further comprises a connecting rod 38 connecting in an articulated manner one of the ends 39 of a crank arm 40, provided with a counterweight 41 at its other end and mounted on an axis 42 parallel to the axes of the balances. ,
to an articulation 43 of the middle part of the rod of the first balance B1, an electric motor (not shown) ensuring, by means of a set of gears 44, the rotation of the crank arm 40 around its axis 42.
An interlocking member 43 makes it possible to start the engine, a lever 51 placed on a spacer 52 of the uprights 1 of the device, however still actuating a switch mounted on the power supply circuit of the engine, so that the latter only works when the patient presses said control lever 51.
This device is intended to replace the movement of one or both sacroiliac joints in order to restore the patient's spine to its original shape. In addition to the three usual dimensions, the spine, as a mobile structure, has a fourth dimension, that is to say the time in the evolution of the movement of one section in relation to the other. If you want, its torsional capacity represents a fifth dimension. This device makes it possible to take into account these five dimensions both with regard to the straightening of the spine. It makes it possible to replace the sacroiliac movement in a modified or normal form by exaggerating at will the movement which relates to the corresponding dimension.
It is a semi-passive and semi-active torsio-locomotion device allowing a sacroiliac joint to work actively while the opposite joint is replaced by the machine.
