Metal eyelet, in particular for waistbands The invention relates to a metal eyelet, in particular for waistbands, consisting of a base plate and a bridge, which are to be attached to the fabric by machine and to be combined with one another.
The known metal eyelets of this type, which naturally work together with corresponding hooks, have the disadvantage that they tilt when the hook-and-eye connection is exposed to strong tension, with the fabric being overstressed and torn.
This sewing part is avoided in the metal eyelet according to the invention in that the length of the base plate in the direction perpendicular to the bridge is at least four times as large as the width of the bend.
In the accompanying drawing, an exemplary embodiment from the subject of the invention is shown. It is: FIG. 1 a plan view of the base plate, FIG. 2 a section along the line II-II from FIG. 1 ', FIG. 3 / B> a section along the line III-III of FIG. 1, FIG. 4 a side view of the bridge,
FIG. 5 shows a front view of the bridge and FIG. 6 shows a top view of the finished eyelet after it has been attached to the fabric, which is not shown is.
The metal eyelet shown consists of a base plate 1 and a bridge 2. The base plate 1 has two mutually overlapping incisions 3 on its edge, in its extension see two bulges 4 located. In the base plate one can further distinguish between a slightly curved fastening part 5 and a flat extension 6 located on one side of the same, with the mentioned incisions 3 </ B > and bulges 4 are located on the fastening part 5 .
The extension 6 has a deep cutout 7 , which is directed perpendicular to the connecting line of the incisions 3 or the bulges 4 and is an extension < B> 6 forms two symmetrical tabs 8 .
The bridge 2 has two pointed ends bent at right angles from the bridge body. To attach the eyelet to the fabric, the base plate is placed in a known manner on a die and the fabric over the base plate. The bridge 2 is then pressed against the die by means of a punch, the tips 9 piercing the fabric, tipping through the incisions 3 and then through the die are folded over in the sense of the arrows shown in FIG. 4, that they come to rest in the bulges 4. The eyelet is then ready and attached to the fabric.
This type of loop formation is known per se. In the known eyelets, however, the base plate is hardly as large as the fastening part 5 of the present base plate 1, in whose width a is less than twice the bridge width b.
In the case of the present base plate 1 , only the length c of the extension c is somewhat greater than three times the bridge width b. The length d of whole plate 1 in the direction perpendicular to the bridge '21 is therefore greater than four times the bridge width b.
With heavy use, which eyelets of the present type are subjected, z. B. if they are attached to the waistband of trousers for heavy workers, see the known eyelets tilt and tear the fabric. Due to the size of the existing base plate. this disadvantage is completely eliminated, as tearing tests have clearly shown. As you can see, the fastening part 15) could be widened on both sides in order to achieve this E effect.
The one-sided widening through the extension 6 is preferable, however, because otherwise the bridge 2 cannot be so close to the fabric edge and it is usually desirable to have the effective eyelet part, that is, the bridge, as close as possible to be attached to the edge of the fabric.
The deep cut-out 7 of the base plate I had the following purposes: It is customary to reinforce the trousers fabric with a strong lining in the waistband, which also extends from the tips of the connection between the base plate and the bridge B> 9 is pierced and thus connected to the eyelet.
If the lining is subsequently sewn to the trouser fabric, the seam 10 indicated in FIG. 6 can be seen in the cutout 7 up to the vicinity of bridge 2, which results in a considerable improvement in the connection between fabric and lining C . The depth e of the cutout 7 is preferably at least two bridge widths b.
