Magnetic friction device The invention relates to a magnetic friction device with an annular organ forming a magnet body with a U-shaped cross-section, two annular pole pieces that are concentric to one another and arranged around the axis of the magnet body, an excitation coil housed in the magnet body and an armature.
According to the invention, the magnetic friction device is characterized in that the pole pieces are formed from two ring-shaped elements made of magnetic material, one end of which has the pole faces lying in a common radial plane. have, while their other ends and the magnet body are pushed into one another and form a part of a magnetic circuit that extends from one pole to the other and is guided around the coil, furthermore that between the ring-shaped elements.
a friction body consisting of a material capable of friction resistance is arranged, the outer side of which forming the friction surface is flush with the pole faces, and that behind the friction body there is an insert body made of a non-magnetic material to connect the two annular elements that the two annular, the pole faces pointing elements, the friction body and the insert body; form an exchangeable unit detachably connected to the magnet body, the one ring-shaped element having fastening means for fixing this unit on the magnet body.
In the drawing, two execution examples of the subject invention are Darge provides. It shows: Fig.l a longitudinal section through. the friction device according to the first embodiment, FIG. 2 shows a part of the magnet body in elevation, with parts creeping away, and FIG. 3 shows a longitudinal section through the second embodiment of the device.
The illustrated embodiments of the magnetic friction devices are designed as electromagnetic friction brakes. The embodiment of Figure 1 and 2 has. a magnetic body 10 and a Ele ment 24 with two annular, in a Ra dial plane lying pole faces 11 and 12, which are bridged by an annular armature 13 over. The armature 13 is rotatable relative to the magnet body or element 24 and can in the axial direction with a friction surface 14 'of the element 24 come into action connection.
The magnet body 10 has a U-shaped cross-section, between the flanges of which a coil 15 is arranged and is held in position by a cast hardened filling 16. An annular, made of non-magnetic material, e.g. A disk-shaped friction body 17, for example made from a brake lining material, is mounted between the two pole pieces 28 and 29 in such a way that its outer surface and the two pole surfaces lie in the same plane for the purpose of forming the friction surface 14.
The armature 13 is designed as a flat ring made of magnetic cal material, which bridges the two pole faces 11 and 12 of the pole pieces 28 and 29. It is axially slidable ver on a number of pins 18 to which the latter are used in the same Abstän lying on a circle in a carrier 19. The carrier 19 is keyed onto a rotatable shaft 20. If the friction device is intended for use as a braking device, the magnet body is mounted stationary on an organ 21 by 1.0.
This can be carried out using a plate 22 which is screwed tightly onto a carrier 21 and, for example, welded to the rear side of the magnet body.
The excitation of the coil 15 generates a magnetic flux which runs in an essentially closed circle 23, shown in dashed lines in FIG. 1, through the magnet body 10, the pole pieces 28, 29 and the armature 13 and around the coil : Flows. The magnetic flux causes the armature 13 to be attracted, which is in functional connection with the friction surface 14 of the magnet.
Due to the frictional connection of the elements of the device, a torque of the order of magnitude is exerted, which is determined by the magnitude of the excitation current passed through the coil 15.
During use of the Reibungsvor direction wear of the friction surface 14 takes place. In the known friction devices of this type, for the purpose of repair, after the wear had assumed a certain extent, the entire magnet system was removed and replaced by a new complete unit including the coil 15, although certain parts were not affected by the wear. In order to be able to reduce the number of parts of the device to be replaced as a result of the wear and tear of the friction surface, the two mutually concentric pole pieces are separated from the magnet body 10, pushed over it and releasably connected to the body 10.
Here, the pole faces 11 and 12 having parts 28 and 29 are firmly blinded to each other and form a structural unit 24 with the friction body to be worn by 1.7, which is verbun releasably with the part 25 which includes the coil and is not subject to wear. In part 25, the coil 15 is within one of two rings 26 and 27 formed from two magnetic mate rial. Arranged element, which together have a U-shaped cross-section, the coil iti a hardened filling compound 16 is embedded. If necessary or desired, the parts 26 and 27 can be separated from one another.
At the point of contact between the two parts 26 and 27 there is an intermediate layer 27a made of non-magnetic mate rial for rendering the remanent magnetism ineffective after the magnetizing current through the coil 15 has been interrupted.
The part 24 of the device subject to wear by friction is formed from two concentric rings 28 and 29 which are arranged around the axis of the body 10 and which are fixedly connected to one another but are magnetically separated from one another and which contain the inner and outer poles piece form and end in the pole face 11 and 12, respectively.
Segments 30 (Fug. 2) made of a known material that is resistant to wear and tear by friction form the friction body 17: the segments are inserted between the pole piece rings 28 and 29 and rest on shoulders 31 of the rings, their outer surfaces being flush with the pole surfaces are. To connect the two pole piece rings 28 and 29 with each other is a preference, made of copper or one. other non-magnetic material existing ring 32 -provided, which is connected to the radial planes 33 of the rings by brazing.
In order to be able to fasten the part 24 of the device that is subject to wear on the part 25 having the magnetic body 10, the rings 28 and 29 are formed in such a way that they slide over the outer surfaces of the flanges of the magnet body 10, which is U-shaped in cross section to let. Here, see the flange 33 of each pole piece on the end face 34 of the relevant magnetic body flange. The surfaces of the flanges and the. Pole pieces are precisely machined to reduce the occurrence of air gaps within the closed magnetic circuit to a minimum.
In the embodiment according to FIG. 7, the inner pole piece 28 is longer than the outer pole piece 29 and overlaps the largest part of the inner ring 26, which enables the detachable part 24 to be attached to the part 25 by means of a number of screws 35. The visual screws 35 are arranged radially, protrude through bores in the inner pole piece 28 and are screwed into threaded bores in the inner ring 26, the visual screw heads 36 projecting beyond the inner surface of the pole piece 28 where they are accessible for the purpose of loosening the screws.
With the arrangement of the parts according to FIG. 1, the magnetic flux generated by the coil 15 takes its path via the inner ring 26, the inner pole piece 28, the armature 13, the outer pole piece 29 and the outer ring 27, as shown by the dashed line 23. During the duration of the use of the device as a brake, the pole surfaces 11 and 12 and the outer surface of the friction body 17 are subject to wear until the friction surface 14 is no longer wearable.
If this time has occurred, the screws 35 are loosened and removed. Whereupon the part 24 in the axial direction of the magnet body part 25 is moved and lifted who can be replaced by a new part 24 to be pushed onto the part 25. The magnetic rings 26 and 27 as well as the coil 15, which are not exposed to wear, can be used again and again, so that the costs for repairing the device are considerably lower than if the magnetic body 10, as was previously the case was the case, it would have to be set.
3 shows the second embodiment of the magnetic friction device, which differs from that according to FIG. 1 in that the two pole pieces 28 and 29 designed as rings protrude into the space between the ring parts 26 and 27 of the magnet body 10 . These ring parts he stretch on both sides of the coil 15 over the filling 16 away to the left and have shoulders 38 to which the inner ends of the pole piece rings apply.
The latter are made so long in the axial direction that their inner ends come to lie between the magnet ring parts 26, 27, while the outer ends with the pole surfaces 11 and 12 and the outer surface of the friction body 17, which form the friction surface 14, are in front of the outer ends of said ring parts are. Between the pole piece rings and behind the plate 17 is the ring 32 made of non-magnetic material, for example copper, which extends to the rear ends of the pole piece rings.
The copper ring 32 magnetically separates the two pole pieces from one another, but is firmly connected to them to form a structural unit 24.
To suppress a remanent Ma magnetism after switching off the excitation current through the coil 15, an air gap 37 is provided within the self-contained path of the magnetic flux. For this purpose, the outer pole piece ring 29 is machined and fits snugly against the inner surface of the outer magnetic ring part 27, while between the inner pole piece ring 28.
and the inner ring part 26 is provided with radial play in order to form a narrow air gap 37 by way of the flow 23. This enables the ring parts 26 and 27 to be designed such that, together with a web, they form a piece with a U-shaped cross section.
Around the part 24 subject to wear on the solid. To keep part 25 in position, screws 35 are inserted from the outside into bores in the outer ring part 27 and screwed into the outer pole piece 29, the screw heads in the ring part 27 are lowered ver. In order to be able to achieve a firm connection between the parts 24 and 25 with regard to the air gap 37, it has proven expedient to choose the screws 35 so long that they extend into the copper ring 32 and that they are near shoulder 38.
The energized coil 15 generates a closed magnetic flux via the outer pole piece 29, the ring parts 27 and 26, the air gap 37, the inner pole piece 28 and over the armature 13. To replace the parts subject to from use, only the screws 35 are required to remove and then remove the part 24 with the pole pieces 28 and 29 and the connecting ring 32 and the plate 17 from the part 25, whereupon a new part 24 can be inserted.
The device can be designed as an electromagnetic braking device or as an electromagnetic clutch.
