Description

Method for lining containers with corrosion-resistant, metallic building materials. It is a problem for the chemical and food industries to have permanent linings for containers, e. B. tanks, bunkers, pipes or the like, made of metallic or non-metallic building materials with corrosion-resistant, metallic building materials to it.

A lining using thin sheets of corrosion-resistant metals with undistorted weld seams was previously not possible with such containers, because when fusion welding the longitudinal and transverse seams, the ends of the thin sheets deviated so far from the welding plane under the influence of heat that it was not possible to achieve practically usable seams.

In order to avoid preferential connection seams when welding, the procedure according to the invention is that thin sheets of alloyed corrosion-resistant steel are placed on the walls of the container, the thin sheets are attached to the container wall on both sides of the butt joint near the butt edges by spot welding and then on the butt edges are welded.

The thin sheets fixed on the container wall in this way cannot give way when the seams are welded under the influence of heat.

In the case of metallic containers, the thin sheets can be attached directly to the container wall. Non-metallic containers must be provided with metallic supports attached in or on the container wall. These metallic documents can expediently be perforated or grooved.

You can also use the: Welding joints between the thin sheets and the container wall respectively. add intermediate layers to the documents.

The intermediate layer has the same composition as the corrosion-resistant thin sheet, so that segregation cannot penetrate into the film itself.
