Machine for the extraction and purification of the part of the ballast of a railway which constitutes < B> the crown The object of the present invention is a machine for the extraction and purification of the part of the ballast of a railway which constitutes the crown.
The term “crown” of the layer of ballast placed between the plate and the track is understood to mean the shoulders that this layer forms on the outside of the sleepers, on either side of the ends of the latter.
Just as is done by means of screening machines for the part of said layer located under the track, it is necessary to periodically remove the ballast constituting the ring, to purify it. by screening and distributing the materials obtained according to present needs. The machine according to the invention is intended to perform these operations.
It is characterized by a vehicle comprising two plows intended to be placed on either side of the track, two elevators each following one of the plows, each plow - elevator assembly thus constituted being fixed to the vehicle by means of means enabling it to be raised and lowered, so that in one of these positions the plow and the elevator enter the crown of the bal last and that in the other of these positions they move away from it, a screen receiving the ballast extracted by the elevators and then leading it to adjustable distributors,
allows both to remove the unusable part and to transport the usable part at will to at least one of the following points: on the crown, outside the rails, inside the lines of rails and in a suitable place to recover it. The appended drawing shows an embodiment of the object of the invention, given by way of example. Fig. 1 is an elevation, seen from the side. Fig. 2 is an elevation, front view. Figs. 3 and 4 explain, by an elevation and a plan view, how the dispenser works.
The machine shown in figs, 1 and 2 consists of a vehicle 1, comprising two pairs of wheels 2 and 3, running on the railroad 4, supported by the sleepers 5, themselves placed on the ballast layer 6.
In the following, only the extraction elements located in front of FIG. 1, it being understood that those located behind and visible to the left in fig. 2, are symmetrical to them. These elements are constituted by a street tank 7, intended to penetrate into the ring of the ballast 6, in order to bring the parts laterally too far apart to a chain of lifting gates 8, following it.
The ploughshare of the plow has a vertical hinge 9, allowing it to be folded for example inside the jig (international or other) when it is not working and the plow-lifting assembly can be raised or lowered at will, that is to say brought into a working or resting position.
Fi nally-. 1 and in the right half of fig. 2, the assembly is raised and the coulter folded against the vehicle. The left half instead shows the coulter 7 'with the hinge 9' and the elevator bucket chain 8 'in the lowered working position.
The means for switching from one of these positions to the other do not need to be described in detail, they are the responsibility of the manufacturer. They will preferably include levers 10 (fig. 1 and left half of fig. 2) having the effect of bringing back the chariot rue and the lower part of the chain of goets in the profile of the vehicle in the raised position and the moving away towards the crown when diving into the ballast. These levers are therefore articulated, on the one hand at a fixed point integral with the chassis of the vehicle, on the other hand at the base of the elevator.
Upwards, the two risers converge, as shown in fig. 2, the bucket chains being driven independently of other parts of the machine from an electric motor 11.
Towards their point of convergence, the buckets of the chains discharge the extracted materials onto a screen 12 according to a trajectory indicated by arrows. This screen is vibrated by an individual electric motor 13.
The purpose of this screen is to retain materials coarse enough to be usable, and to allow materials that are too fine to pass.
The latter fall into a hopper 14, which leads them on a transverse conveyor belt 15, by means of which these fine materials can be rejected at 16 (fig. 2), out of the profile of the ballast layer.
In fig. 2, fine materials are thus thrown to the right. By providing the conveyor belt 15 supported by a sliding frame transversely to the longitudinal axis of the vehicle, this makes it possible to reject fine materials at will from either side of the track.
This conveyor belt 15 will also be driven by an individual electric motor.
The coarse materials, retained by the screen 12 and reusable, naturally follow the inclined surface of this screen, which leads them towards the rear of the vehicle, to a distributor visible in FIG. 1, but the constituent parts of which will be described with particular reference to FIGS. 3 and 4.
This is what they consist of. First of all, a nozzle 17 extending the screen and notched in the form of a V in its center; to the two branches of this V correspond two valves such as 18. In fig. 3, the side wall of the screen and nozzle has been removed.
In fig. 4, the visible valve 18 occupies a middle position, guiding part of the materials towards the end of the corresponding portion of the spout and the other part into the V-shaped notch.
By turning the two flaps 18 towards the center, so that, along the edges of the V, they meet, forming a dihedral with an edge directed towards the screen, the materials can no longer fall into the notch, but must follow the screen nozzle. By separating the valves 18 on the contrary fully towards the outside, we will be able to drop all the coarse materials into the V-shaped notch. Intermediate positions of the valves make it possible to divide said materials between these two channels in any desired proportions. , and this independently for each side.
What falls into the notch and is thus brought back to the longitudinal axis of the vehicle, can then follow two new paths at will. One is to let these materials fall on a conveyor belt 19, preferably lifting, extending rearward in the axis of the vehicle (see trajectory 20). This makes it possible to recover these materials by loading them, for example, on a second vehicle, following the first.
The other way is to bring the materials into chutes 21, which unload them against the inside face of the rails, in zone A (see path 22). To do this, it suffices to tilt the pet slam 23 accordingly, the position of which determines whether the materials will fall on the tape 19 or in the chutes 21.
What does not fall into the V-shaped notch, but follows the nozzle 17 of the screen 12, falls into other chutes 24, moving away from one another and returning the materials in B to the crown of the ballast layer.
These latter chutes comprise adjustable intermediate flaps 25 which, depending on their position, allow all or part of the C-shaped materials to fall immediately outside the rows of rails, but not the sleepers.
In fig. 4, the top chute in relation to the drawing, leads all the materials in B (see arrow 26), while the other chute, with its valve 25 emerging from its wall, deposits a part of it in B and a part in C (see drawn arrows).
The machine described thus makes it possible to unload the unusable fine materials at will from one or the other side of the ballast layer by projecting them outside the profile of the latter; To deposit the large materials that can be used at will on the crown, outside or inside the rows of rails, and this for each side independently, in predetermined proportions, or to recover them by loading them on another vehicle for example.
The tape 19 could also be extended under the hopper 14, in order to allow the loading on a vehicle of fine and unusable materials. It will also be driven by an individual motor.
By providing the mesh of the removable screen, it is also possible, by removing it, to drop all of the excavated material alongside the track, by means of the conveyor belt 15.
Finally, it is also possible to pass all the materials on the conveyor tape 19 and thus load them onto a wagon, if there is a sheet capable of re-covering the screen of the screen.
The vehicle carries a Diesel motor-generator unit 27 (see fig. 1), supplying the supply current for the various motors mentioned and driving, via a gearbox 28, either the winch 29 allowing to the cable 30 of the moored free end, to pull the vehicle during work, ie the axle of the wheels 2, when the machine is called upon to move high with its foot.
Finally, it is obvious that having adopted any predetermined ga barit, care will be taken to ensure that the plows and the bucket chains do not encroach on the latter in the inactive raised position on the right of FIG. 2.
For its part, the vehicle will preferably be equipped with buffers and hooks (not shown), allowing it to be incorporated into any train composition.
