Device for closing a container with a neck and in particular a tube
The present invention relates to a device for closing a container with a neck, in particular applicable to tubes made of a malleable, flexible or elastic material, filled with a product or substance of any kind, generally more or less pasty, to be consumed in portions.
The device for closing a container with a neck according to the invention is characterized in that it comprises, in combination, a mouthpiece, a cap, mounted by screwing on the neck, and two cooperating stops provided. , respectively, on the neck of the container and on the cap, to prevent the latter from separating from the container.
In a particular embodiment, the mouth piece ends at its outlet end with a frustoconical portion with a solid bottom, the product discharge orifices being drilled in the wall of said frustoconical part.
The cap is pierced in its bottom with a central opening for the outlet of the product and comprises a frustoconical bearing intended to come to bear on the frustoconical portion of the mouthpiece in order to close the orifices drilled in this portion.
In another embodiment, the mouthpiece is attached to the container.
According to another embodiment, the mouthpiece is formed directly on the neck of the container.
According to another embodiment, the mouthpiece is constituted by one or more parts with a retaining member, movable in the neck of the container, this or these parts being capable of moving in the housing existing between the end of the captive cap and this collar, when the cap is unscrewed, while ensuring that this collar is sealed tight when the cap is screwed on. This closure piece may include a head of generally any shape, such as spherical, conical, ellipsoid or other, and is preferably provided with a tail forced into the neck and limiting the stroke of this closure piece. while allowing the passage between the neck and itself of the material contained in the container, when unscrewing the cap.
The closure part is advantageously provided with a centering guide intended to prevent it from spilling out at the opening into the housing existing between the top of the cap and the neck of the container.
In one embodiment having a stamped cap, its stopper is preferably produced by an additional stamping of its lower part to obtain several parts turned inwards and separated from each other by saw cuts in sight. to form a spring during assembly, when passing over the stopper of the neck, and retained in use, against this stopper of the neck. Preferably, in this case, a circular groove is provided on the outer surface of the neck of the container for accommodating a seal made of plastic or the like bearing on the inner surface of the cap.

Fig. 10 represents a final embodiment.
Fig. 11 is a view from below of the movable mouthpiece of the device illustrated in FIG. 10.
The tube 1 shown in FIG. 1, which is made of any suitable material, comprises, in the usual way, a neck 2 provided with a thread 3.
The closure device of this tube comprises a mouthpiece in the form of a cylindrical body of two different diameters, the part 4 of smaller diameter being force-fitted into the bore of the neck 2, while the part 5 of larger diameter protrudes from said neck. At its free end, part 5 ends with a frustoconical portion 6.
For the outlet of the product contained in the tube 1, the mouth piece is pierced with an axial channel 7 extended by four oblique channels 8 opening into the wall of the frustoconical portion 6.
The closure device further comprises a cap 9 pierced in its bottom with a central opening 10 for the discharge of the product contained in the tube 1. This cap has below the opening 10 a frustoconical bearing surface 1 1 intended for bear on the frustoconical portion 6 to close the outlet orifices of the mouthpiece and extended by a cylindrical part 12 whose diameter corresponds to that of part 5 of the mouthpiece.
Immediately below the cylindrical part 12, the cap has a threaded part for its mounting by screwing on the neck 2. The cap is completed by a stopper 13, formed by an annular internal rib, cooperating with a stopper d 'stop 14, formed by an external rib on the neck 2 of the tube 1. The role of these two stops 13 and 14, which cooperate, is to limit the height of which the cap 9 can be unscrewed relative to the neck 2 In addition, a tight seal is produced between the cap and the rib 14, as can be seen from FIG. 1.
In order for the cap to be fitted to be possible, this cap will be made of an elastic material allowing assembly by forced interlocking.
Thanks to the presence of the cylindrical part 5 above the thread 3, the latter cannot ja but be reached by the product exiting the tube 1. It follows that the screwing and unscrewing of the cap 9 are never hindered. In addition, thanks to the presence of the conical bearing surfaces 6 and 11, any material leaving the tube 1, but not yet discharged through the opening 10, will be forced out of the tube when screwing the cap 9 back on.
In this embodiment, the mouthpiece is attached to the tube 1, but it goes without saying that nothing prevents it from coming together with said tube, as in the embodiment of FIG. 2 in which the parts corresponding to those previously described are designated by the same reference numerals.
In the embodiment illustrated in FIG.
3, the same reference figures have been kept for organs and parts of organs similar to those illustrated in Figs. 1 and 2.
This embodiment does not differ. those of fig. 1 and 2 that in that the mouthpiece is movable relative to the neck. This part comprises a spherical head 20 provided with a cruciform tail 21 passing with play in the neck 2 of the receptacle 1. This part made of a flexible material, preferably of a synthetic resin, such as polyvinyl chloride, is provided on its tail 21 of a terminal expansion 22 intended to pass by force into the neck 2 and to ensure the retention limiting the travel of the spherical head 20.
In the position illustrated in fig. 3, closed position, the seal is ensured both by resting the spherical head 20 on chamfers 23 and 24 respectively arranged around the opening 10 of the cap and on the neck, as well as by the support 25 of the inner surface of the cap on the surface of the neck and at 26 of the thread of the cap on the stopper 14 of the neck. By opening the cap, the ball head 20 becomes free to move.
Total opening is obtained when the stop 13 abuts on the stop 14, the seal being maintained at 25. The opening is limited by the stroke B for the spherical head 20 and by the stroke A for the cap, the latter stroke which may be equal to twice the stroke B.
The embodiment illustrated in FIGS. 5 and 6 does not differ from that illustrated in FIG. 3 as regards the stopper integral with the cap. The latter, 9a, made of a rigid material, such as a metal, for example, is provided towards its inlet with a circular groove 26 in which is mounted a ring 27 of circular section conforming to a square shape, as can be seen in fig. 6, so that on unscrewing the cap 9a the side 28 of the ring 27 abuts under the stop 14 belonging to the neck of the container 1. In a variant, the cap 9a can be made of semi-rigid material and used for containers of plastic, metal, glass or the like.
The closure device illustrated in fig. 5 and 6 comprises the same mouthpiece as the device described above.
In the embodiment of FIGS. 7 and 8, the cap 9b is stamped and is provided with an opening 10b and a thread 29 which engages with the thread 3 of the neck. At its lower part, this cap comprises a cylindrical part 30, the end of which is folded inwards by stamping, this inner fold comprising a series of saw cuts 31 defining elastic teeth 32. When the cap is fitted on the container, the teeth 32 are erased by their elasticity in front of the stop. 14 of the neck, then return to their original position and then form a stopper retainer below the stop 14. On the other hand, to ensure sealing, a seal 33 is disposed in a circular groove made on the neck, preferably near its summit. This seal is advantageously made of plastic.
In the variant of FIG. 9, more particularly usable for bottles or other containers with a limited flow rate or with a flow rate by shaking, the cap 9c is held in a chosen position with respect to the neck 2c of the container, with the aid of a snap-fit consisting of a section to hexagon arranged on the outer part of the neck 2c and on which is applied a fold 34 formed on the ring 27c serving as a stopper for the cap. In the case of the elastic stopper cap of the kind illustrated in FIG. 7, the teeth 32 can cooperate with a special boss made on the neck under its stop 14.
The embodiment illustrated in FIGS. 10 and 11 is more particularly applicable to tubes containing a pasty material capable of drying quickly. The cap 9d is provided with a retaining ring 27d. The neck has the thread and the stopper already described. The mouthpiece comprises a head 35 of plastic material of conical shape in its part penetrating into the neck 2, this part ending in a frustoconical part 36 intended to come to rest against the closure on the frustoconical edge of the opening. 10 of the cap 9d.
This prevents the accumulation of pasty material on the surface of the cap. On the other hand, this head is provided with four guides 37 intended to guide it in the housing 38 defined between the cap 9d and the neck 2. It finally comprises a tail formed by a metal element 39 of small thickness ending in two parts. curved 40 and 41, intended to fulfill the role of stopper at the opening by pressing under the neck 2 inside the container.
It should be noted that the closure devices described ensure the absolute inviolability of the container. In fact, once the container is empty, it is impossible to fill it again without breaking or cutting the cap or without breaking the neck of the container.
