Der geringe Zug des Tonbandes wird durch eine Reibungsbremse an der Spule 25 bewirkt. Ist die Reibungsbremse fest an geordnet, so nimmt der Zug mit abnehmen dem. Radius des aufgewickelten Tonbandes zu. Im Ausführungsbeispiel wird diese Zu nahme des Zuges durch einen über einer klei nen Skala spielenden Zeiger 37 am Hebel der Rolle 32 beobachtet und durch eine einstell bare Reibungsbremse ausgeglichen. Die Rei- bungsbremse kann aber auch so eingerichtet werden, dass sie den Zug des Tonbandes selbsttätig regelt;
Device for applying magnetic sound tapes to film strips Compared to the optical sound method for sound image films, the magnetic sound method has a number of advantages known from the literature and is therefore being used more and more. Two procedures are known for producing the sound track on the film strip. In one process, the sound track is poured onto the film strip in a liquid state. The difficulty here is to apply the soundtrack with a uniform grain density in a uniform thickness of only 10 microns, and one observes sound fluctuations in such films, which are caused by irregularities in the soundtrack.
It has also been shown that the soundtrack is not mechanically durable enough and flakes off after prolonged use of the film. Finally, the infusion process requires a relatively expensive facility that is only worthwhile for the series production of feature films. So far it has only been used for spatial sound films with four sound tracks. In order to avoid the disadvantages of this method, it was obvious to apply a commercially available magnetic tape in the cut width to the filmstrip, which ensures good sound quality and holds on the filmstrip indefinitely if it is firmly connected to it .
However, the execution of this known method causes other considerable difficulties, and it has not yet been possible to properly apply a tape to the filmstrip with the help of a device which allows the individual operations to be carried out automatically with simple operation. This is necessary in order to be able to coat not only picture-ready films, but also unexposed, highly sensitive panchromatic films in complete darkness and to enable semi-skilled people, for example those working in television studios, to operate the device for self-use. Such a device is created by the invention.
When the tape, which is up to about 50 microns thick, is applied to the surface of the filmstrip, the filmstrip at the edge where the tape is located becomes too thick and can no longer be reeled and reeled in tightly insert normal cassettes. Furthermore, a tape applied to the emulsion layer of an unexposed film strip easily peeled off together with the emulsion layer during the development, fixing and soaking of the film. The tape must therefore be placed in a recessed area of the film strip, removing the emulsion layer.
In addition to the requirement to remove this path in an adjustable depth for different thicknesses of the tape and the film strip with an accuracy of a few microns and with an absolutely smooth surface, there is in particular the task of automatically taking over the path to lead the thickened adhesive points of a composite th film strip so as not to damage or tear the film at these vulnerable points with the tool.
These tasks are fulfilled by a device which consists in the fact that the stylus, which excludes the recessed path, is arranged on a spring-pressed head which is pivotable against a support roller over which the film strip runs and on which a feeler roller is arranged in relation to the stylus is mounted in such a way that it lifts the stylus over thickened adhesive points of the film strip.
The device is shown schematically in one embodiment in the drawing, namely Fig. 1 shows a device for chamfering the steps at the glued points, Fig. 2 shows a device for removing the recessed web, Fig. 3 shows a device for inserting the tape and Fig. 4 shows a tape beschich ended narrow film.
The device according to Fig. 1 consists of a housing 1, on the front side of which a roller train for the film strip and a tool head are mounted free-standing, while the drive is housed in the housing rend. The film strip 2 runs from the film reel 3 over two pulleys 4, over a support roller 5 and over two more order pulleys 4 on the film reel 6. Opposite the support roller 5, a helical cutter 8 is mounted on a head 7, which drives the film strip in the opposite direction becomes.
The milling head 7 is pivotable about an axis 9 and is pressed against an Ex center 11 by a spring 10 supported against a pin. With the help of this eccentric, the cutter 8 is set with so little play over the film strip that it only captures the thickened adhesive points at the point of the web to be removed later and their steps in a flat transition from one strip to the other except for the play of the cutter the corresponding remainder is cut away. This device can also be used to test the strength of the glued joints.
When running over the support roller 5, these are subject to a certain tension, which can be adjusted by a friction brake, for example on the film reel 3, so that an insufficiently firm adhesive point tears under the additional shock load it experiences when passing the cutter .
From the film strip prepared in this way, a recessed path is now taken by the device according to FIG. 2 while removing the image layer. At the front of a drive housing 12 to the film reels 3 and 6, a pulley and a tool head are mounted free-standing. The film strip is promoted by a drive roller 13 with the same Ge speed over the platen 14 and held by a brake roller 15 under train. He rests with static friction on the rubber coated rollers 13 and 15 and is pressed against these rollers to increase the static friction and to keep the slip small by pulleys 16, which are pivoted and resiliently mounted on arms.
The roles 17 complete the role train. The film reel 6 has a sliding friction drive. The bearing roll 14 is supported on needles with no play, since it primarily depends on the accuracy and evenness of the path to be cut, but this can also be achieved by means of a grinded plain bearing. A head 18 is pivotably mounted against the bearing roller 14 on a nose-shaped projection of the hous ses and is pressed by a spring 19 against an eccentric 20. At the head 18 is. a stylus 21 is attached and a small feeler roller 222 is mounted in the viewing direction in front of the stylus so that its right vertex roughly coincides with the cutting edge of the stylus.
You can now use the feeler roller as a sliding stop on the film strip by letting the cutting edge of the stylus stand over the feeler roller to exactly the depth of the web to be cut from the film strip. In this simplified Ausfüh tion, the eccentric 20 would be unnecessary.
However, in order to avoid any damage to the film strip by the sliding feeler roller, the stylus blade is allowed to protrude a little more than the depth of cut over the feeler roller so that the feeler roller no longer slides on the film strip, and the stylus head 18 is left on Hit the eccentric 20, through which the cutting depth can be read by means of a micro kneading screw, taking into account the film thickness and we can be set much more precisely than is possible by adjusting the stylus relative to the feeler roller.
Here, however, the feeler roller has the important task of automatically lifting the graver over the thickened adhesive points of a film strip composed of several pieces. Without this measure, the stylus would get stuck on the adhesive running against it on the step side and tear or tear the film strip. By means of a cam on the eccentric 20, the stylus can be lifted off the support roller 14 when the film strip is inserted into the device. A micrometer screw that moves the stylus head in its pivot axis allows the stylus to be adjusted in the direction of the width of the film strip.
The devices according to FIGS. 1 and 2 can also be combined in a single device, in which the film strip on two separate or a single support roller first passes the cutter and then the graver.
The tape is now glued into the recessed track with the aid of the device according to FIG. On a drive housing 23, a bearing block 24 for the tape reel 25 is on the top, on the underside a bearing block (not shown) for the film reels 3 and 6 and on the right side a lengthening support 26 is attached. On the front side of the housing and the carrier, the pulleys for the film strip 2 and the tape 27 are mounted free-standing. The film strip 2 runs from the spool 3 over two pulleys 28, a pulley 29 and Füh approximately, several rollers 30 and a pulley 31 on the spool 6 and is driven by the two same rollers 29 and 31.
The tape 27 runs from the spool 25 over a pivoted roller 32, two pulleys 33 and a guide member 34 on the drive roller 29 on the film strip and is, after its beginning is glued to the film strip, from the running film strip from the spool pulled the pulley.
The tape is provided on one side with adhesive by a device 35 and through the transverse to the running direction adjustable guide member 34 exactly in the recessed path of the film strip and inserted at a slightly smaller angle than 180 to the continuing film strip with light pressure in the web. It is then pressed against the film strip by a weight roller 36 which is mounted pivotably on an arm over a roller 30 and dries on in the course of the further path of the film strip. As a result of the doubled drive by the rollers 29 and 31, the film strip passes through the path delimited by these rollers without tension and without elastic expansion.
The last of the rolls 30 is designed as a Ge weight roll and keeps the film strips taut along this path. On the other hand, the tape runs onto the film strip with a slight pull without elastic deformation in the longitudinal and transverse directions. By means of these measures, a firm and tension-free connection between the film strip and the tape is achieved and thus the tape does not become detached and the film strip cannot warp.
The slight pull of the tape is brought about by a friction brake on the reel 25. If the friction brake is firmly arranged, the train takes with the decrease. Radius of the wound tape. In the exemplary embodiment, this to take the train is observed by a pointer 37 playing over a small scale NEN on the lever of the roller 32 and compensated for by an adjustable friction brake. The friction brake can, however, also be set up in such a way that it automatically regulates the tension of the tape;
For example, in such a way that it is adjusted in the radial direction according to the decreasing radius of the tape reel by a sliding, pivotable and resiliently mounted feeler roller on the wound tape.
The pasting device 35 is equipped with a roller wetting device 38 which is driven in the same direction as the tape and applies the adhesive taken from the container evenly to the tape in a precise dosage.
The correct insertion of the tape in the recessed path of the film strip can be observed through a small microscope 39 or a magnifying glass and corrected if necessary by adjusting the guide member 34. Corri.
In a similar manner to the train of the audio tape, the train of the piece of film strip drawn by the drive roller 29 from the film reel 3 can also be regulated evenly.
Just like the two devices according to FIGS. 1 and 2, all three devices can be structurally combined in a single device without difficulty, the three operations being carried out one after the other on the film strip running through in a roller train.
