Stopcock with rotatable, pierced, spherical shut-off body In an effort to build up shut-off valves with. rotatable, pierced, ku -, # elförniigem shut-off body and to make the cocks suitable for very high pressures ge, it has already been proposed to use the shut-off body between metal, parts of a spherical surface forming seat surfaces arranged on the housing, which are supported by additional Sealing rings are sealed.
The invention is intended to continue this development in the sense of a further simplification. The invention consists in (let each bearing surface a sealing ring is assigned, which is pulled onto a cylindri's seat, which has a larger diameter than the inner diameter of the originally tensioned sealing ring.
In this way, a tight fit of the sealing rings is achieved so that they can be squeezed away and destroyed less easily by the pressure exerted on them by the shut-off body and by the shear forces generated when the shut-off body is rotated. If the sealing rings are arranged in such a way that they rest against a flat sliding surface of the seat on their side facing away from the shut-off body and are not supported on the outside, they are simultaneously given the option of swelling to give in to internal tensions and to expand outwards.
All of this contributes significantly to reducing your stress and thus extending it. their lifespan. Preferably, the sealing rings should have a rectangular cross-section and their nenkante facing the shut-off body should be beveled (beveled) as a contact with the shut-off body. The cross-section of the sealing rings should be chosen expediently so large that they protrude from the spherical contact surfaces between which the shut-off body is clamped before it is clamped. They are then pressed together when the valve is assembled, which ensures a tight fit on the spherical surface of the shut-off body.
The seats for the sealing rings can either be arranged on the housing and the shut-off body can be movably mounted between them perpendicular to the flow direction, or the seats of the sealing rings can -in perpendicularly. be arranged movably mounted support rings to the flow direction, while the shut-off body is centered perpendicular to the flow direction. The resistance of the sealing rings to undesired deformation can be further increased in that the sealing rings are provided with a clamping bandage on their cylindrical outer surface, which z.
B. can be formed in the form of a metal transverse slit th clamping ring. 5 to 10% have proven to be an advantageous measure for the difference between the diameter of the seat and the inner diameter of the sealing ring. As a material for the sealing rings, all those come into consideration that have sufficient strength and elasticity, z. B. rubber, synthetic rubber and other elastic plastics. It has been shown that it is beneficial to use a material with a Shore hardness of 80 to 90 for the sealing rings.
In the drawing Ausführungsbei games of the subject invention are shown, namely: Fig. 1 shows a shut-off valve in longitudinal section in the fully assembled state, Fig. 2 part of Fig. 1 with the shut-off body not yet fully inserted, Fig. 3 shows a modified embodiment in longitudinal section FIG. 4 shows a further embodiment in longitudinal section, FIG. 5 shows an axial section through a sealing ring provided with a bandage,
FIG. 6 shows a side view of this and FIG. 7 shows the plan view of FIG. 6.
The shut-off valve according to FIGS. 1 and 2 has a metallic housing 1 with a longitudinal bore 2 and a connecting thread 3 in a known manner. The bore 2 is followed by a bore 4 with a larger diameter, which is intended to receive a spherical shut-off body 5 drilled through. The shut-off body 5 has a smaller diameter than the bore 4 and is therefore movable in the bore perpendicular to the bore axis and flow direction of the faucet. On the opposite side of the housing to the bore 2, a longitudinal bore 6 for receiving a connection sleeve 7 with the bore 2 corresponds to the longitudinal bore 8 is attached.
The connection sleeve 7 can be screwed into a thread 9 of the housing 1 by inserting a seal 70 and fixed in its position by means of a screw 10. It has an internal connection thread 30. On the Ge housing 1, a lateral extension 11 is angeord net, which leads a switching spindle 13 in a bore 12, which at its inner end with. a bar 14 in a groove 15 of the shut-off body 5 engages.
The switching spindle 13 is sealed in a known manner by a seal 16 in the bore 12 and is held against axial displacement by a flattened transverse pin 17 which rests on the inside of a union nut 19 screwed onto an external thread 18 of the projection 11. The transverse pin 17 also serves as a side stop for the rotational movements of the switching spindle 12. In the housing 1, a cylindrical seat 20 surrounding the bore 2 is formed, on which a vertical seat extends outwards. to the bore axis lying ringför-shaped support surface 21 connects. The transition from the seat surface 20 to the bore 2 is formed by a contact surface 22 which is part of a spherical surface.
In a corresponding manner, the connecting sleeve 7 shows a cylindrical seat 23, an adjoining annular support surface 24 and a bearing surface 25 which is part of a spherical surface. A sealing ring 26 and 27 is drawn onto each of the two seat surfaces 20 and 23, the in the untensioned state has a smaller inner diameter than the seat surface and is therefore stretched and pretensioned by pulling it up. The sealing rings 26 and 27 have a square cross-section, one corner of which is cut off (Fug. 2 and 5), which comes to rest against the spherical surface of the locking body 5 from.
As Fig. 2 shows, the cross sections of the sealing rings 26 and 27 are dimensioned so large that the raised rings, as long as they are not under the pressure of a tensioned shut-off body, over the seat surfaces 20 and 23 and the spherical contact surfaces 22 and 25 survive. With their cylindrical outer surfaces 28 and 29, the sealing rings do not rest on the housing, but are free. When assembling the barrier body from the connecting sleeve 7 is so far.
screwed in until the shut-off body 5 rests against the spherical contact surfaces 22 and 25, the sealing rings 26 and 27 being pressed together. Since the shut-off body 5 can be displaced perpendicular to the axis of the bore, is it through the Anla-efläehe 2? and 25 centered.
The embodiment according to FIG. 3 differs from that according to FIGS. 1 and 2 essentially in that the housing consists of two equal halves 31 and 32, which meet in the central plane of the shut-off body 5 which is perpendicular to the flow direction. You are with the interposition of a device 33 you are connected by screws 34 a related party.
The housing part 31 has like the Ge housing 1. In the embodiment of FIGS. 1 and 2, the bore 2 with connecting thread 3 and the seat surfaces 20 and 21 and the spherical contact surface 22 (not shown in FIG. 3). The seat surface 20 carries the sealing ring 26. The seat surfaces 23 and 24 and the spherical contact surface 25 are arranged on the housing part 32, which contains the longitudinal bore 8 with a connecting thread 30. The housing bore 4 enclosing the shut-off body is distributed over both housing halves. The side approach is divided longitudinally and forms ge by two halves 35 and 36.
In it, a bush 37 is arranged, which is sealed abge to the outside by a seal 38 and the Selialtspinde'l 13 with the seal 16 is located in the bore 39. The socket 37 is held by means of a flange 40 by the -Cberw-Lirfnut 19, which at the same time clamps the two neck halves 35 and 36 together. The switching spindle 13 carries a hand lever 41.
In the embodiment of FIG. 4, the housing 42 is formed from similar to that of FIG. 1, which is why corresponding parts are designated with corresponding reference numerals. But the seating surfaces for the sealing rings 26 and 27 are not arranged on the housing itself or on the connection sleeve 7; Rather, in the housing bore 43 that closes the shut-off body 5, which here has the same diameter as the shut-off body and therefore centers it, a metal support ring 44 or 45 lies on each side of the shut-off body.
They have a smaller outer diameter than the bore 43 and can therefore move in this perpendicular to the direction of flow and thus become centered on the ball. The support rings 44 and 45 are sealed by seals 46 and 47 against the bore 43 and have the seat surfaces 20 and 21 or 23 and 24 and the spherical contact surfaces 22 and 25 (as in Figure 1, therefore not designated) . The sealing rings.26 and 27 are drawn onto the seat surfaces 20 and 23, respectively. Otherwise, this design corresponds to that of FIG. 1.
5, 6 and 7, a sealing ring 48 is shown, which carries a metal clamping ring 49 on its cylindri's outer surface, which is interrupted by an inclined slot 50. This clamping ring increases the bias of the sealing ring 48 and ensures that the tension of the sealing ring remains even when the sealing ring shows signs of age.
