IV.

Infinitely variable electric sensor control Previously known electric sensor controls work in such a way that the sensor closes or opens several electrical contacts one after the other, depending on the size of the deflection of the probe spindle, whereby the drive elements of the machine are switched on and off or reversed via corresponding switching relays will. In order to obtain a high level of copying accuracy, the deflections of the probe spindle required for actuating the contacts must be kept very small, which means that very frequent stopping and restarting of the feed drives is not agile. With such sensor controls you can not achieve higher feed speeds.
Especially when the machine table does not brake quickly. If enough is done, the machine table moves beyond the distance prescribed by the sensor, so that the sensor comes to the next switch position, which causes the machine to begin to oscillate.
In contrast, the hydraulic sensor controls have the advantage that they work steplessly and therefore the heavy machine tables do not suddenly stop when scanning inclined contours. The disadvantage of the hydraulic sensor controls, however, is that an increase in the probing accuracy of the sensor always results in a reduction in the scanning speed, because with the small sensor deflections you can only control small quantities of oil, but these are not sufficient to achieve the heavy machine tables to move. For this reason, special aids must be provided, such as intermediate valves and the like, which result in a further delay in the switching times.
Attempts were made to build electrical, steplessly working sensor controls in which electrical induction gauges discharge grid-controlled tubes through which the feed motors are fed and the speed of the feed motors is changed depending on the deflection of the sensor. The structure of this control is very extensive. Since a greater power is sometimes required for the feed motors, large tube assemblies are required for this. The control range is also often insufficient.
The present invention relates to an infinitely variable working electrical sensor control, particularly suitable for copying machines. The controller has a sensor for automatic scanning of a template or a model, with a probe spindle of the sensor is deflectable and electrical transducer devices are operated by the various strong deflections that control elec trical drive members.
According to the invention is the control. Set up so that when the sensor is in the rest position, the encoder switches on the drive for the Fühlera.nbewe- gong at maximum speed and reduces this speed when the probe spindle begins to deflect, while at the same time the transverse movement perpendicular to the movement of the sensor with a predetermined first deflection , which is switched off when the sensor is in the rest position, is switched on, the speed of which increases from then on with the deflection of the sensor until the sensor deflection reaches an average value,
in which the sensor movement is switched off by the encoder device and the transverse movement runs at maximum speed, and that with an even greater sensor deflection, the drive element for: the sensor movement is switched on, the speed of which increases with the further increase in the movement of the scanning spindle , while at the same time the speed of the transverse movement decreases, until finally the transverse movement is switched off at the maximum deflection of the probe spindle and the downward movement of the sensor with it. running at maximum speed.
The sensor regulates the drive motors, the vertical and longitudinal support in a meaningful way according to the growth .der Aaslenken its probe spindle, which enables a stepless scanning of the models.
If you fasten a workpiece next to the model on the workbench and a milling tool next to the sensor on the vertical support, which can be driven by a special drive, the milling tool mills the contour of the model continuously into the workpiece.
This new stepless sensor control can be used for a wide variety of machine types.
In the accompanying drawings, various exemplary embodiments of this control are shown partly schematically. It show: Fig. 1 and 2 a continuously working scanning device, Fig. 3 the circuit arrangement of the potentiometer and the amplifier and the control motors, Fig. 1 a scanning device by which a copy milling machine is controlled, and Fig. 5, 5a, and FIG. 5b shows how the control works for the fully automatic contour milling.
As can be seen from Fig. 1., The scanning device has a movable table 1 in a horizon tal plane, on .den the model? is clamped, and a ver tikalsupport 3, which is adjustable on the stand 4-vertical. A probe 5 is. attached to the vertical support 3 .. It is gimbaled so that it can be moved in all directions. The cardanic suspension which engages in the groove 5a is shown by sliding in FIG. 21; Lit adjustable for adjustment purposes. However, the sensor is normally not displaceable in its longitudinal direction except together with the support 3. A sliding pin 6 which engages in a cone 7 is seated at the upper end of the sensor spindle. The cone sits on one arm of a two-armed lever 8 which is rotatably mounted on the pin 9.
At the end of the other arm of the lever 8, the rack 10 is articulated through which the pinion 11 for the adjustment of the Po tentiometer 12 and 13 is driven. By the spring 11, the lever 8 is pressed against the sliding pin 6 of the sensor 5, where the sliding contacts of the potentiometer in the rest position of the lever 8 are directed vertically downwards. Depending on the size of the deflection of the probe spindle, the lever 8 is deflected upwards against the spring pressure of the spring 14, so that the potentiometer loop contacts are adjusted as a result. The drive motor 15 or 16 is controlled by the potentiometer 12 or 13.
As can be seen from FIG. 2, the two potentiometers 12 and 13, seen here from behind, have three distinctive positions of their sliding contact 17 and 18, respectively. The potentiometer 12 controls the drive motor 15 for the vertical movement of the sensor, which Potentiometer 13 controls the drive motor 16 for the longitudinal horizontal movement cc 'of the milling table 1. When the sensor is in the rest position, the two sliding contacts 17 and 18 are in the positions I and IV as shown in FIG.
The drive motor 15 then runs with it. its maximum speed and moves the sensor vertically downwards in direction 1) on the model surface. The horizontal drive motor 16 is. on the other hand switched off (o). As soon as the sensor touches the model surface, it is deflected and the sliding contacts 1.7 and 18 are adjusted counterclockwise in FIG. 2. The closer the sliding contacts come to positions II or V, the more the speed of motor 1.5 decreases, while that of motor 16 increases. If the two sliding contacts are in the horizontal position II or
V, the motor 15 is at a standstill (o) while the motor 16 is running at maximum speed (model 2: direction c). If the sensor is deflected even more so that the sliding contacts 17 and 18 are further adjusted and move from position II to III or V to VI, the speed of the horizontal drive motor 16 decreases again and the motor 15 runs in reverse direction of rotation (direction a), where its speed increases more and more, the closer you see the sliding contacts to the positions III and VI.
In this, the 'Mo tor B runs at maximum speed (Abbewe movement of the sensor) and the motor 16 is at a standstill (o). In this way, the sensor automatically scans the model surface in lines. At the end of each scanning cycle, the motor 19 is switched on, whereby the model 2 is moved sideways by the desired amount (line spacing) with the aid of the cross support 20. The direction of rotation of the motor 16 is then switched over so that the sensor scans the model surface in the opposite direction (direction of the model: c ').
Fig. 3 shows. the circuit arrangement of the potentiometer and the amplifier and control motors. The two potentiometers 12 and 13 (their deflection takes place counterclockwise, as was already indicated in connection with FIG. 2) each form a bridge arrangement together with the resistors 23 and 21, respectively. The bridges are fed by the transformer 25. The diagonal voltage of the bridges 12, 23 and 13, 24 is taken from the two sliding contacts 17, 18 of the potentiometer and the taps 26 and 27 of the two resistors 23 and 24 and fed to the amplifiers 38 and 29. If the two sliding contacts of the potentiometers are in the horizontal position according to FIG. 3, the bridges are balanced.
The bridge voltage fed to the amplifiers 28 and 29 has reached its zero value. The further the sliding contacts are adjusted from the horizontal position, either up or down, the more the bridge voltage supplied to the amplifiers 28 and 29 increases. As soon as the sliding contacts are in the vertical position, the bridge voltage supplied to the amplifiers 28 and 29 reaches its maximum value. However, the direction of the bridge voltage applied to the amplifiers is different.
The potentiometer 12 controls the drive motor 15 to the vertical movement of the support 3 and thus the sensor 5. By the amplifier 39, the voltage of the bridge 12, 23 is amplified accordingly. The transformer 30 ensures that the increased bridge voltage is matched to the motor 15. During the normal keying process, the terminals 31/32, 33/34, 35/36 and 37/38 shown in the figure are bridged. The field voltage for the motors 15, 16 is taken from the rectifier 39.
The armature of the motor 15 receives its current from the amplifier 29, that is to say the motor 15 is at a standstill when the sliding contact 17 of the potentiometer 12 in FIG. 3 is in horizontal position and the bridge is balanced.
If the sliding contact is removed from this position by rotating it clockwise or counter-clockwise, the current in the armature of the motor 15 increases with the voltage supplied to the amplifier 29, so that it rotates in one sense or the other, until it reaches the maximum speed in the vertical position up or down; achieved in the sense of the direction of movement a or b. The positions of the sliding contact 17 of FIG. 3 correspond in the direction and effect on the motor 15 to those which were described in connection with FIG.
So that the drive motor 16 for the hori zontal feed movement runs at the highest speed when its sliding contact 18 see is in the horizontal position and the removed bridge voltage has reached its zero value, an additional power source 25, 39 is provided in Fig. 3, through which the armature of the motor 16 is fed. Furthermore is. a rectifier 40 is provided which allows the amplified voltage of the bridge 13, 27 in the amplifier 28 to pass in only one direction. A capacitor 41 and a resistor 42 serve to smooth the direct current. The more the sliding contact 18 of the potentiometer 13 is brought out of the horizontal position, the more the bridge diagonal voltage increases, which is supplied to the United 28 stronger.
There. the voltage taken from the rectifier 40 is directed in the opposite direction. is. like the additional voltage on which the armature of the motor 16 is located, the speed of the drive motor 16 decreases more and more the further the sliding contact 18 is moved up or down from the horizontal position. As soon as the sliding contact is in a vertical bearing, both voltages cancel each other out, see above. that the armature of the motor 16 comes to a standstill.
Fig. 4 shows a scanning device by which a copy milling machine is controlled. The scanning device has a cross support on which the model 2a is clamped. The model is scanned by the sensor 5. According to the sensor deflections, the lever 8 is more or less deflected and the pinion 11 is rotated via the tooth segment 10. In Alen u housing 43 there are two potentiometers which are connected to the amplifier box 44. The two drive motors 15 and 16 are also connected to the amplifier box 44. The sensor 5 scans the model surface in lines, with the motor 19 switched on for the line spacing at the end of the stroke of each line. becomes.
With the drive motors 15 and 16, the two electrical encoders 45 and 46 are coupled. The vertical feed motor 47 is controlled by the encoder 45 and the horizontal feed motor 48 of the milling machine is controlled by the encoder 46. The motors 47 and 48 thus make all movements of the encoder with. The arrangement has the advantage that the drive motors 15 and 1.6 for the tactile movements. can be kept very small, as the low contact pressure of the probe has to be overcome and the feeler table can be held very easily.
The electrical transmitters 45 and 46 also require only a very low driving force. A small amplifier is therefore sufficient to feed the control motor 1.i and 16. The feed motors 47 and 48 of the milling machine can, however, be designed to be powerful according to the requirements of the milling machine. will.
FIGS. 5, 5a and 5b illustrate the operation of the control during fully automatic contour milling. To the. Milling outlines are in the milling plane for the scanning of the outlines four scanning directions he required as indicated for example in Fig. 5n by c, d, e and, f. These four scanning directions of the sensor are made possible as described above by using two potentiometers. Since, as shown above, a potentiometer in a certain direction affects the movement of the sensor, as will be understood below, the scanning directions or the motor for the movements in these scanning directions must be used to scan the complete outline of a contour can be switched at the corners of the outline.
Fig. 5 shows. two potentiometers 12 and 13 which are mechanically coupled to one another. As long as the sensor does not touch the stencil to be scanned, the sliding contacts of the two potentiometers are in the position indicated, i.e. vertically downwards. In order to scan the contour A-B of Fig. 5a and to start this scanning at .1, the sensor movement in direction d must take place against the template. The setting of the control is now chosen so that the potentiometer 12 controls the sensor movement in the direction e-d and the potentiometer 13 controls the transverse forward: 5 thrust f-c.
As soon as the sensor hits the template at the point <-1, it is deflected, the 'sliding contacts 17, 18 of the potentiometers 12 and 13 being due to the shape of the piece A-A1 of the contour on the horizontal position as a result of the shape of the piece A-A1 given in Fig. 5a to adjust. This means that the motor for the movement in direction e-d stands still and the motor for the movement in direction c develops its greatest speed. At point: 11 the contour begins to change, the feeler finds. less resistance and begins to straighten up from the distraction, that is. the motor runs in the direction of movement d at a speed that remains constant for the piece A1 to t12.
The sliding contact 17 is z. B. in the Richtuni, in which this ge straight piece of the contour runs. Since the potentiometers 12 and 13 are coupled, the sliding contact 18 also assumes the inclined position given, that is, the motor for moving the sensor in direction c runs correspondingly slower.
As in these two cases, the sliding contacts are also on the further path of the scanning, as shown in the small pairs of circles shown for the individual pieces of the contour. is ..
As from Fig. 5a. can be seen, are the two sliding contacts of the potentiometer 1 \? and 13 again in the horizontal direction and are directed obliquely upwards from point 213 to Q14. In this way, the sensor scans the template contour steplessly up to point B.
At point B of the template contour, however, the feeler becomes free. The sliding contacts of the potentiometers 12 and 13 therefore move back to the vertical position: downwards. directed position. So that the sensor can scan the contour B-C, the scanning direction must be changed. The switching drum shown in FIG. 5b is provided for switching over the scanning directions. This shift drum has four shift positions corresponding to the four coordinate directions of a plane. The switch drum can be adjusted clockwise and counterclockwise by magnets 49 and 50 and can set four different scanning directions I to IV.
Is the already described scanning direction, in which the sensor moves in direction d against the template, also the drive motor for the vertical movement of the sensor in direction ed, as already mentioned, through the potentiometer 12 and the drive motor for the horizontal movement of the sensor the potentiometer 13 is controlled in the direction fc, as scanning direction I, then the scanning of the contour BC of the template shown in Fig. 5a is to take vorzu after a scanning direction II.
In scanning direction II, the potentiometer controls: it 12 controls the horizontal movement in direction c-f and the potentiometer 13 controls the. Vertical movement in direction e-d, that is to say the functions of the two potentiometers 1.2, 13 are interchanged in tactile direction II with regard to tactile direction I, the movement in direction f and the advance in direction d.
At point C, the movement of the sensor must again experience a change of direction. The result is the scanning direction III, in which the movement in direction e, the advance in direction f and the potentiometer 12 controls the vertical movement in direction d-e and the potentiometer 13 controls the horizontal movement in direction c-f.
If the sliding contact of the potentiometer 12 is located in the vertical position drawn in FIG. 5. downwards, the feeler in direction III, in contrast to the case in direction I, has the tendency to drive in direction e up against the template contour. The direction of rotation direction of the drive motor for the movement d-e is thus reversed in the tactile direction III. The direction of rotation of the horizontal drive motor is also the opposite of that in scanning direction I.
As soon as the sliding contact of the potentiometer 13 comes into the horizontal position in the direction III, that is, when the sensor is deflected accordingly during the movement, the sensor moves in direction f to the left. At point D, finally, a scanning direction IV is required, in which the potentiometer 12 controls the horizontal motor again so that the sensor, as soon as it becomes free, tries to move in direction c to the right against the template contour to drive. The feed takes place. in direction e and the vertical drive motor for the movements in direction d-e is controlled by the potentiometer 13.
The further course of the scanning from D to _: 1 will be discussed below.
So that at the corners of the template in which a switchover of the scanning direction is required, the switchover automatically follows. Is. the potentiometer 12 provided with corre sponding changeover contacts, which are shown in FIG. As soon as the sliding contact reaches the vertical position, i.e. the sensor is free, the sliding contact reaches the switchover contact 51.
When the sensor experiences its strongest dislocation, so that the sliding contact of the potentiometer 12 reaches the position vertically upwards, it comes into contact with the changeover contact 52. The magnet 49 is switched on via the changeover contact 51 and the magnet 49: the Changeover roller adjusted clockwise. Via the switching contact 52, the magnet is. 50 switched on and adjusted by the magnet 50, the changeover roller counterclockwise.
At corner B of the template shown in FIG. 5, as already mentioned, the feeler becomes free. As a result, the magnet 49 receives voltage through the sliding contact of the potentiometer 1? - via the contact 51.
The changeover roller is adjusted clockwise so that the machine now sets touch position II. The feeler now tries to move forward towards the template from right to left in direction f. As soon as he touches the template, the sliding contacts of the two potentiometers are adjusted counterclockwise until they assume the horizontal position. The drive motor for the horizontal movement is switched off and the motor for the vertical movement runs. for the movement of the sensor in the feed direction d at full speed.
From point P1 onwards the sensor becomes slightly free so that the sliding contacts of the potentiometer 1? and 13 look at an angle downwards, that is. A certain movement ring takes place both in the direction of movement and in the feed direction, so that there is a resulting movement ring that corresponds to the course of the contour from B1 to B2. For the further course of the scanning up to point C, the corresponding positions of the sliding contacts 17, 18 are indicated on the side of the contour sections.
At corner C the sensor becomes free again. As can be seen from FIG. 5a, the sliding contacts of the potentiometers 12 and 13 therefore move vertically downwards. ; -e- directed position; the magnet 49 receives tension again, as a result of which the changeover roller is adjusted again clockwise. The machine now works with the tactile direction III. Here, as already stated, the vertical motor is again controlled by the potentiometer 12, and the feeler has. the endeavor, as a movement towards e against. to approach the template contour.
As soon as it is in contact with the template, the sliding contacts of the potentiometers are adjusted counterclockwise again until they reach the horizontal position; the motor for: the direction of movement e is switched off, the motor for the direction of movement f runs finitely at full speed. In a manner analogous to 1 'for the contours .1 to II and! To (', the contour (. 'To D is now scanned, the positions of the sliding contacts 17,
18 occur. The distance D to _1 of the template contour in Fig. 5a shows contour sections in which the sensor experiences its greatest deflection and the changeover roller must then be adjusted counterclockwise. At corner D the sensor becomes free and goes back to its starting position. The sliding contacts of the potentiometers 12 and 13 come into their position vertically downwards and the switching roller is, as already described, actuated in the counterclockwise direction and retained from the tactile direction III to the tactile direction IV 11111, in which the movement in direction c 1111f1 of Feed in direction e takes place.
He potentiometer 1 ?, 13 again controls the same motors as in the case of the tactile t1111r II, (read is the potentiometer 1 ?, controls the] motor for the horizontal movement in direction c and (read potentiometer 13 the vertical movement in direction de. The directions of the moving lenses, which depend on the positions of the sliding contacts 17, 18, but their dependency is reversed. If the sensor reaches the colleture D-D1, then the sliding contacts 17, 18 are grounded in the horizontal position so that the motor controlled by potentiometer 12 for the horizontal movement in direction c is stationary and the front potentiometer 13 controlled motor for vertical movement is running at maximum speed.
The horizontal position of the sliding contacts is indicated on the side of the contour section D-D1.
In point Dl the sensor is again. free, so that the sliding contacts are in their places vertically downwards and the sliding contact 17 switches the switching drum counterclockwise from the fast direction IV to the tactile direction I via the contact 51. The scanning of the contour section D1 to D2 corresponds to the scanning of the section _1 to _l1, 1111 (i the a11) section D1 to D2 specified position of the sliding contacts 17, 13 corresponds exactly to their position over the section A to A1. At point D? the feeler will now turn. freely, but further deflected until the sliding contacts reach a position vertically upwards.
In this position, the sliding contact 17 switches via the contact 52 and .den 50, the switching drum by one step clockwise, that is; from scanning direction I back to scanning direction IV. The scanning of the contour section D2 to D3 takes place in the same way as the scanning of the section D to D1, and the sliding contacts assume the position marked in this section:
In point D3 there is again (read "-] oak as in point D ?, this heals the sensor is deflected again until the sliding contacts assume the vertical near top position. Then sliding contact 17 controls via contact 52 and via the Magnet 50 moves the shift drum one step clockwise from scanning direction IV to scanning direction 111, for which the position of the sliding contacts in section D3 to D4 are all given in this section.
At point D4, the process from point D is repeated, that is, the unisehaltun from scanning direction III to scanning direction IV, with which D1 to A is scanned. The sensor becomes free again at point A, and the device described switches over to scanning direction I.
Repeated scanning can be prevented here by manual reversal or automatic switch-off in a known manner: The main positions of the potentiometers in the four tactile directions or when switching from one tactile direction to the next in clockwise or counterclockwise direction, whichever potentiometer is controlled The motor and the direction of movement for the feed can be seen in the following table
