Description
Wear-resistant and corrosion-resistant object and method for its production The present invention relates to a wear-resistant and corrosion-resistant object, in particular a steel body, with a wear-resistant and corrosion-resistant coating, and a method for its production.
Wear-resistant objects made of steel bodies on which hard alloys are welded are already known. The alloys known under the name Stellite, which can consist of chromium, nickel, tungsten, molybdenum, iron and cobalt, are generally used as hard alloys.
However, the application of such alloys for armor or the like is excluded or at least unfavorable, especially for those purposes in which, in addition to increased wear and tear, there is increased chemical exposure to acids, alkalis or the like, since the corrosion resistance of these hard alloys is low.
In the case of the wear-resistant objects on which the invention is based, this after part of the inadequate corrosion resistance is eliminated in that the coatings consist of alloys consisting of 5 to 30%, preferably 200/1), metal of the iron group, e.g. B.
Put together cobalt and / or nickel, the remainder being chromium carbide. In two ways, these wear-resistant and corrosion-resistant objects are manufactured in such a way that the chromium carbide auxiliary metal alloys are applied to steel bodies as coatings using a protective gas welding process, in particular an inert gas welding process. The Arcatom, Argonarc or Heliarc welding processes are preferably suitable for applying the coatings.
The alloys used for welding are expediently produced in the form of welding rods by powder metallurgy so that, for example, finely crushed chromium carbide powder and fine-grain nickel powder are intimately mixed and the mixture is extruded into rods of the desired dimensions with the addition of a plasticizer. The compacts obtained in this way are sintered in protective gas or in a vacuum after the plasticizer has evaporated by using elevated temperatures.
In many cases it is advisable to apply an intermediate layer, for example made of a metal from the iron group, to the base body before welding the chromium carbide auxiliary metal alloys in order to enable better adhesion of the hard alloy and to avoid any stresses, which can occur with the different thermal expansion of the different materials. The intermediate layer is preferably applied by means of a metal spraying process.
Another advantage of the articles manufactured according to the invention is that. (In addition to increased corrosion resistance, let them also have increased heat resistance.
