Process for the production of a polycondensate It is known, Aerylsäurenitril, hydrogen chloride and aldehydes, such as. B. form aldehyde, acetaldehyde or benzaldehyde, to react in the presence of water in an electrically heated tube. This creates compounds of the formula
EMI0001.0004
in which R denotes hydrogen or a hydrocarbon radical, corresponding to the aldehyde used in each case. If you now z.
If, for example, liquid ammonia is allowed to act on methylene-bis-f'-chloropropionic acid amide in the autoclave at room temperature for about 20 hours, the following unilaterally aminated compound is formed: (CH2) 2 > Co. NFI. CH2. NH. CO. (CH2) 2. NH2 So far you have compounds of the formula
EMI0001.0015
in which R is hydrogen or a hydrocarbon radical (e.g.
B. methyl, phenyl, aralkyl) 'means converted into light-colored polycondensation products by treatment in the vacuum at high temperatures.
It has now been found that the polycondensation can be carried out in a simple manner in a certain solvent. It was surprising to find that the above amino halides, which were previously considered in organic solvents. considered insoluble, in glycols of the general formula HO. Dissolve (CH2) ". OH (where n means 8 to 12). Decamethylene glycol has again proven to be a particularly suitable solvent. Polycondensation is possible both in vacuo and under normal conditions.
However, in order to avoid densation as possible during the polycondensation, the working method using a vacuum should be preferred. The amino halides of the above formula can be dissolved to a homogeneous solution by heating with the solvent mentioned. For the polycondensation, the temperature is expediently allowed to rise to about 1600 when a vacuum is applied and to slightly above 200 under normal conditions, in which case the polycondensation can then be carried out in a few hours.
The still contained in the polycondensation solvent can be extracted by extraction with z. B. methanol can be removed. The poly condensates are suitable for the production of plastic masses. Example S 26g of decamethylene glycol are first melted and, to this melt, 5 g of the methylene-bis., B-chloropropionic acid amide of the formula C1. (CH2) 2.
CO. NH. CH2. NII. CO. (CH2) 2. N'7: 2 added. The solution is heated to 160 for 2 hours under a vacuum of 10 mm. A polycondensation product results, which is washed out with methanol. It shows. a melting point of 286.
Example. 30 g of decamethylene glycol are first melted and, to this melt, 3 g of the ethylidene-bis-β-chloropropionamide of the formula aminated on one side are added
EMI0002.0026
(M.p. 185-186) added. The solution is heated to 140 for 3 hours with a vacuum of 10 mm. After extraction with methanol, a polycondensate results which has a melting point of 270.
Example 3 The same approach as in example 2 is used. The heating, however, is not carried out in a vacuum, but under atmospheric pressure at a temperature of 200 for 3 hours. The result is the same polycondensate as in Example 2.
