Description
Roller bearing Roller bearings require very little lubricant; it is however necessary to renew this lubricant after a period of one to two years in general.
The object of this invention is to make it possible to ensure the lubrication of rolling bearings for a greater number of years.
The rolling bearing, object of the invention, comprises an internal lubrication device; it is characterized in that this device com carries a porous metal rotating body, saturated with oil, which is interposed between each rotary supporting element.
Two embodiments of the object of the invention are shown, by way of example, in the accompanying drawing. Fig. 1 is a cross section of a roller bearing.
Fig. 2 is a similar cross section of a ball bearing.
The roller bearing of fig. 1 com takes an internal lubrication device consisting of rollers 4 made of porous material and saturated with oil, the number of which is equal to that of the lift rollers 3. The rollers 4 have a smaller diameter of 0.02 to 0.03 mm than that of the rollers 3 between which they are interposed. The porous material from which the rollers 4 are made can be bronze. The rings 1 and 2 of the bearing are analogous to the usual rings.
Fig. 2 shows a ball bearing in which the ball cage 4 'is made of a porous material, saturated with oil, and thus constitutes the internal lubrication device. The rings 1 and 2 as well as the balls 3 are analogous to those of conventional ball bearings.
In a needle bearing, one could at will insert as many porous needles as there are carrier needles, as in the bearing of FIG. 1, or use a needle cage made of porous material with its oil turée. Likewise, the rollers 4 could be replaced by a cage.
A rolling bearing such as those described above will require virtually no maintenance, especially if it is closed.
