(ler allgemeinen Formel
EMI0001.0009
R. einen in 2-Stellung an die Azogruppe A und in 7-Stellung an die Azo- gruppe B gebundenen Naphthalinrest, der in l-Stellun;

Process for the preparation of substantive azo dyes The present invention relates to substantive azo dyes which, such as e.g. B. the disazo dye of the formula
EMI0001.0006
(ler general formula
EMI0001.0009
correspond, where R is the remainder of a diazo horn component,
R. a naphthalene radical bonded in the 2-position to the azo group A and in the 7-position to the azo group B, which is in the 1-position;
, an auxochromic group, an oxy group in the 8-position and also one to two sulfonic acid groups, one of the radicals R3 and R, 4 contains a benzene radical bonded to the azo group B and the other of these. Radicals mean a radical containing azo groups.
The dyestuffs of the formula (2) are obtained by adding couplable mono azo dyestuffs of the formula (1) RJ-NNR.2, where R.1 is the radical of a diazo component and R. is a 2-position to the azo,> rgruppe-bound Na.pht.halinrest, which in the 1-position is an auxoehrome group, preferably an amino group,
contains an oxy group in the 8-position and also one or two sulfonic acid groups, with diazo compounds of aminoazo dyes of the formula (4) R3-NH-OC-R4, in which one of the radicals R; and R4 is one which can be azotized by the Amino group substituted benzene radical and the other these radicals mean a radical containing azo groups.
The monoazo dyes of the formula (3) can for their part be prepared by adding an 8-oxynaphthalene-mono- or -disulphonic acid which has a further auxochromic group in the 1-position, ie. H. contains another oxy group or preferably an amino group, kup pelt in the 2-position with a diazo compound.
As azo components, for example 1,8-dioxynaphthalene-3,6-disulfonic acid, but especially 1-amino-8-oxynaphthalene sulfonic acids such as 1-amino-8-oxynaphthalene-4-sulfonic acid, 1-amino -8-oxynaphthalene-4,6-disulfonic acid and preferably 1-amino-S-oxynaphthalene-3,6-disulfonic acid.
If the azo components contain an oxy group in the 1-position, the coupling takes place in an alkaline medium. 1-Amino-S-oxynaphthalene-mono- and -disulfonic acids are coupled in an acidic agent.
As diazo components for the preparation of the -2 # lonoazo dyes of the formula (3) are used, for example, aminobenzenes or substituted aminobenzenes, and particularly interesting results are achieved with such aminobenzenes, which substituents, eg.
B. contain alkyl groups such as ethyl or methyl, alkoxy groups such as ethoxy or methoxy or halogen atoms such as chlorine. In some cases, aminobenzenes with second-class substituents such as 3- or 4-nitro-1-aminobenzene are also interesting. Furthermore, diazo components with hetero rings can also be used such.
B. 3- (4'-Aminophenyl) -benzthia7ole, especially those which are substituted by sulfonic acid groups. Examples are 2- (4'-aminophenyl) -6-methyl-benzothiazole-3'- or -x-sxllfonsäure he mentioned. Amino benzenecarboxamides are also suitable, e.g. B. -arylamides such as 4- (4'-aminobenzoylamino) -1-oxybenzene-2-earboxylic acid as diazo components.
Two different types of diazo compounds to be used as starting materials in the present process and obtained from aminoazo dyes of the formula (4) come into consideration, namely diazo compounds of aminoazo dyes of the formula (5) HN-R-NH-OC-R4, and those of aminoazo dyes of the formula (6) HNR..i-CO-HN-R3. Here in the formula (5) R. denotes a benzene radical and R_,
a radical containing azo groups. In the formula (6), on the other hand, R 1 represents a benzene radical and R3 represents a radical containing azo groups.
The diazo compounds of the aminoazo-color. Substances of the formula (5) can partly be obtained directly by coupling tetrazotized 4-amino-3'- or -4'-aminobenzoylaminobenzenes with azo components such as oxybenzene-o-carboxylic acids or pyrazolones:
The azo dyes of the formula (6) are expediently prepared by introducing aminobenzoyl radicals into aminoazo dyes which do not yet contain any such, i.e. H. by acylating them with nitrobenzoyl halides and then reducing the nitro group. For example, 3- or 4-nitrobenzyl chloride is used for this purpose. As a rule, 3-141ethy1-4-nitrobenzyl chloride has proven to be particularly valuable.
The amino azo dyes to be acylated in this way can be of any composition. In general, however, it is advantageous to use yellow dyes of this type.
Listed below are some types of such yellow aminoazo dyes which look good for this; Purpose are a.) Aminoazo dyes of the composition (7) II @ N-R @ N - N-R5,
where R5 denotes a benzene radical bonded to the amino and azo groups in the p-position and R.5 likewise represents a benzene radical, preferably one which is an oxy group in the p-position to the azo group and an oxy group in the o-position to this Carboxylic acid group contains ent.
Examples are 4-amino-4'-oxy-1,1'-azobenzene-3-carboxylic acids, 2-chloro-4-amino-4'-oxy-1,1'-azobenzene-3'-carboxylic acid, and more 4-amino-3,2'-dimethyl-1,1'-azobenzene-3'-sulfonic acid is also mentioned.
b) Aminoazo dyes of the composition (8) HN-R7-K-Rs-N = N-Ra, in which R7 and Rs are each a benzene radical, N is a direct bond or a bridge member and Ra is the radical of an azo component, the amino group and the Azo group in p-position to X are.
Dyes of the formula (8) can be prepared, for example, by coupling diazotized 4-nitro-4'-aminothilbene-2,2'-clisulfonic acid with oxybenzene, alkylating the oxy group and reducing the nitro group.
Another group of such dyes is obtained by coupling 4-aminodiphenyl compounds which contain a substituent which can be converted into an amino group in the 4'-position,
with oxybenzene-o-carboxylic acids or pyrazolones and conversion of the substituents mentioned into the amino group. Here, as diazo components, for. B. 4-Amino-4'-acetyl-aminodiphenyl or 4-amino-4'-acetylamino-diphenyl-2-sulfonsäLire can be used.
c) Aminoazo dyes of the composition (9) H2N-Rlo-N = N-Rll, wherein H2N-Rlo is the residue of an Aminoa.ryl-pyrazolons, e.g. B. of 1- (3'- or 4'-aminophenyl) -3-methyl-5-pyrazolons or of pyrazolones of the formula
EMI0003.0044
and R.11 mean the remainder of an initial component.
The starting components are - # liniliobenzenesulfonic acids such as 1-aminobenzene-3- or -4-sulfonic acid, or 1-aminobenzene-3,5-clisulfonic acid, aminona.phthalinsulfonic acids such as 1-aminonaphthalene-4-sulfonic acid or 2-: Alninona.phthalin -4,8-disulfonic acid to mention it. In addition, initial components with hetero rings come into consideration, such.
B. the above-mentioned 2- (4'-aminophenyl) -benzthiazoles.
(1) Aminoazo dyes of the composition (10) II.N-Rlo-N = N-Rll, in which H2N-Rlo is the radical of a middle component, preferably one of the benzene class such as aminobenzene, 1-amino-2- or - 3-methylbenzene or 1-amino-2-methoxybenzene, and Rll denote the remainder of an initial component.
The compounds mentioned under e.) Can be used here as the starting components.
The preparation of the products mentioned under a) to d.) And their aeylation with nitrobenzoyl halide and the subsequent reduction of the nitroazo dyes to the corresponding aminoazo dyes can be carried out by customary methods known per se.
The coupling of the diazo compounds of the aminoazo dyes of the formula (4) with the monoazo dyes of the formula (3) is carried out in an alkaline, for example an alkaline carbonate, agent. As a rule, it takes place easily and with good yield, without the addition of coupling-promoting agents such as pyridine or alcohol being necessary.
The dyes of the formula (2) obtainable in this way are suitable for dyeing and printing a wide variety of materials, e.g. B. of animal origin such as wool, silk and leather. Above all, however, they are characterized by very good drawability towards cellulose-containing materials such as cotton, linen, rayon or rayon made from regenerated cellulose. In general, valuable green shades of good etchability and good lightfastness are obtained, as they can otherwise only be produced with the same or similar fastness properties with substantially more complex or less easily accessible direct dyes.
In the following examples, unless otherwise noted, the parts are parts by weight, the percentages are percentages by weight and the temperatures are given in degrees Celsius. Example 1 37.6 parts of 4 '- (4 "-amino) -benzoylamino-4-oxy-1,1'-azobenzene-5-carboxylic acid are used as the sodium salt in 600 parts.
Dissolved water, mixed with the aqueous solution of 6.9 parts of sodium nitrite and allowed to run into dilute hydrochloric acid at 25-30 with vigorous stirring. After about. Two hours of stirring at 25 to 30, the diazotization is complete.
Serves as azo component. the monoazo dye obtained by weakly mineral acid coupling from diazotized dehydrothiotolLidinmonosulfonsäure and 1-amino-S-oxynaphthalene-3,6-disilphonic acid. 65 parts of this monoazo dye are dissolved in 300 parts of water with the addition of 40 parts of sodium carbonate.
This solution is cooled to 0 by adding bis and then the diazo compound is allowed to run in slowly with vigorous stirring. After stirring for several hours, the dye formed is separated out by adding sodium chloride and filtered off. When dried, it forms a dark powder which dissolves in water with a green color, and dyes the cellulose fiber in strong, green shades of good all-round fastness and good etchability.
Instead of the azo component used here, use 60.2 parts of the? Tonoazo dyes obtained by acidic coupling from diazotized 4- (4'-aminobenzoylamino) -1-oxy benzene-2-carboxylic acid and 1 amino-S -oxynaphthalene-3,6-di: silfonic acid, a similar dye is obtained.
Example. 39 parts of the aminoazo dye of the formula
EMI0004.0048
are dissolved in 600 parts of water with the addition of 10 parts of 30 loiger sodium hydroxide solution and mixed with a concentrated aqueous solution of 7 parts of sodium nitrite. At 20 to 25, 40 parts of concentrated hydrochloric acid are added all at once with thorough stirring. After stirring for one to two hours, it is. the diazotization ended.
The azo component is the 14lonoazo dye obtained from mineral acid coupling and made from diazoated 1-amino-4-nitrobenzene and 1-amino-S-oxynaphthalene-3,6-disulphonic acid. 47 parts of this monoazo dye are dissolved in 300 parts of water and coupled with the diazo compound in the presence of excess sodium carbonate.
The dye formed forms a dark powder when dried, which dissolves in water with a green color. It dyes the cellulose fiber in green shades of good all-round fastness and good etchability.
A trisazo dye with similar properties is obtained if the i # lonoazo dye obtained by acid coupling of diazotized 1-amino-4-nitrobenzene with 1-amino-S-oxyna.phthalin-4,6-disulfonic acid is used as the azo component.
Example 3 62.2 parts of the aminoazo dye of the formula
EMI0005.0002
are dissolved with the addition of 11 parts of anhydrous sodium carbonate in 500 parts of water and a concentrated aqueous solution of 7 parts of sodium nitrite. By adding Bis you cool to 0 to 5 and tumble,
then add 40 parts of concentrated hydrochloric acid to the mixture. The azo component is the ionoazo dye obtained by mineral acid coupling and made from dianotated 1-amino-4-nitrobenzene and 1-amino-8-oxynaphthalene-3,6-disulfonic acid. 47 parts of this monoazo dye are dissolved in 300 parts of water with the addition of 40 parts of sodium carbonate, and the mixture is cooled with ice,
and the diazo compound is allowed to run into this solution with vigorous stirring. The dye is worked up in a ühlieher manner. He educates. a dark powder soluble in water with a green color and stains. the cellulose fiber in green tones with good all-round fastness.
