Music piece The object of the invention is a music piece comprising a comb, a spiked roller cooperating with this comb, a reduction gear train and an electric motor, the rotor of which is wedged on the shaft carrying the first element. of said reduction gear train.
The musical piece according to the invention is characterized in that said reduction gear train comprises two sets of intermediate gears, the first element of this gear train being a worm, in that a support in non-magnetic metal to which the stator of said motor is attached carries, on the one hand, one of the ends of the shaft of the rotor of this motor and, on the other hand, the respective adjacent ends of the axis of said roller and the axis of the second set of intermediate gears, in that a bridge is fixed to this support and carries the other end of the rotor shaft and the end adjacent to the rotor of the axis of the first set of intermediate gears,
and in that a side bridge is fixed to said support and carries the other ends of the respective axes of said sets of intermediate gears.
The appended drawing represents, by way of example, an embodiment of the musical piece forming the subject of the invention.
Fig. 1 is a plan view of said embodiment seen from above, FIG. 2 is a side elevational view thereof.
Fig. 3 is a perspective view of a detail of the music piece.
Apart from its motor, the musical piece represented is in all points analogous to a usual musical piece, driven by a spring motor and comprising a regulator, this regulator comprising a shaft rotating at high speed and carrying a pallet of air brake. This embodiment therefore comprises a base 1 on which a comb 2 is fixed by means of screws 3 and with the interposition of a wedge 4. A spiked roller 5 cooperating with the comb 2 is also supported by the base 1. A one of its ends, its axis 6 is rotatably mounted in a bearing 7 fixed to the base in a longitudinally adjustable manner by means of screws 8.
A spring 9 is arranged between the roller -5 and the bearing 7, around the axis 6, and tends to move the roller 5 to the right, as seen in FIG. 1. At its other end, the roller is supported by a support 10 made of a non-magnetic metal, for example brass, shown in perspective in FIG. 3. This support 10 is screwed onto a wedge 11 by means of screws 12, the wedge 11 itself being screwed to the base 1 by means of screws 13. The axis 6 is therefore mounted for rotation in the bearing 7 and in the support 10.
This axle carries a gear wheel 14 which is force-fitted on itself as is a drive disc 15. The disc 15 carries, in the vicinity of its periphery, a pin 16 which cooperates with an end cheek of the shaft. roller 5, to entrain this roller which is rotatably mounted on its axis 6. The pin 16 is parallel to the axis 6 and carries a cam 17 having a front cam surface and radial arms.
This cam co operates in a known manner with a projection presented by the cheek adjacent to the roller 5, so as to adjust the axial distance separating this cheek from the disc 15 and thus to allow a change of air by axial translation of the roller. This air change is automatically effected by a lug 18 which is screwed against one of the side faces of the base 1 and which extends upwards so as to be able to cooperate with the arms of the cam 17, to rotate this cam. a third of a turn at each end of the roller turn.
The stator 19 of an electric motor is also fixed to the support 10 by means of the screws 12. The support 10 serves as a lower bearing for the shaft of the rotor 20 of the electric motor, the axis of which is shown in phantom in 20 'to fig. 3. This support 10 also has a bearing 6 'for the axis 6 of the roller and a bearing for one of the ends of the axis 21' of a second set 21 of intermediate gears of a reduction gear train.
An upper bridge 22 is fixed to the support 10 by means of a screw 23 and it is exactly centered with respect to the lower bearing of the axis of the rotor 20 by means of two pins 24. This bridge has a folded lug 25 in which is provided a bearing which supports the end adjacent to the rotor 20 of a first set 26 of intermediate gears of the reduction train, the axis 26 'of which is shown in phantom in FIG. 3.
This axis extends through a hole 27 made in a folded up part 28 of the support 10 and its other end is supported by a bearing formed in a side bridge 29 which is fixed to the support 10 by a screw 30 and exactly maintained. in position with respect to this support by means of two pins 31. This side bridge also has a second bearing which supports the end remote from the motor from the axis 21 'of the second set of intermediate gears 21.
The stator of the electric motor shown comprises a stack 32 of soft iron sheets cut so as to form a horseshoe-shaped frame comprising two pole pieces 33 and 34 limiting a cylindrical space intended to receive the rotor 20. Each of the poles of the frame thus has the shape of a spherical half-surface and a part 33 ', respectively 34', of each of these poles is separated from the rest of this pole by a notch made in the frame and is surrounded by starter rings 35, made of copper, which have the effect of producing a backward out-of-phase magnetic field in the direction of rotation of the rotor relative to the magnetic field produced between the non-ringed parts of the poles.
An excitation winding 36 is arranged around the yoke of the stator frame which interconnects the pole pieces 33 and 34 thereof.
The rotor shaft is cut and ground so as to present a worm 40 which constitutes the first element of the reduction gear train and which cooperates with a toothed wheel 41, specially cut for this purpose and carried by the axis of the first set of intermediate gears. The end remote from the rotor of this axis is cut so as to constitute a pinion which cooperates with a gear of the second set of intermediate gears. The axis of this second assembly also carries a pinion which cooperates with the gear wheel 14 fixed to the shaft 6.
Thanks to the presence of the copper rings generating a magnetic field out of phase with the field generated by the non-ringed parts of the stator pole pieces, the motor starts by itself as soon as an alternating current flows through its winding. 'excitation. At the time of start-up, and under the effect of the initial magnetic field produced by the stator, the steel ring of the rotor magnetizes to a certain point and provides a fairly strong starting torque under the effect of the field turning generated by the stator. The engine then quickly reaches a speed somewhat lower than the synchronous speed.
For example, with an alternating voltage at 50 periods, it reaches a speed of approximately 2900 revolutions per minute instead of 3000 revolutions which would be the speed of synchronism. There is therefore a certain slip, that is to say a regular and progressive shift of the magnetization of the rotor.
Instead of an AC motor, the music piece specified above could also include a DC motor or an all-current motor. The assembly could then be similar to that described with reference to the appended drawing, the rotor being however wound and provided with a collector cooperating with brushes. The stator of such a motor would not be equipped with starting rings surrounding parts of each of its poles. Such a motor would preferably be connected as a shunt motor, its excitation winding being connected in parallel with the winding of its rotor, so that it exhibits a speed characteristic as a function of the torque supplied relatively flat and that the speed operation of the music piece that stabilizes itself in the vicinity of the desired speed.
It should be noted that the embodiment described above is extremely simple to manufacture. The only parts that we have to modify compared to a part with usual mu sic of the same caliber are, without mentioning the elimination of the spring motor, the support 10 with the bridges 22 and 29. The gears are like intermediates 21 and 26 and the gear 14 are identical to those which serve, in a usual musical piece of the same caliber, to drive a regulator constituted by a shaft having an endless screw similar to that of the rotor shaft 20 of the electric motor and carrying, instead of this rotor, a pallet of an air brake.
This circumstance facilitates the economical manufacture of the musical piece described by allowing the use of a large number of standardized pieces produced in large series for the usual spring motor musical pieces.
An advantage of the described music piece lies precisely in the ease and precision of mounting the support 10 on the stator sheets 19, the whole forming a unit that can be fixed on the turntable of a standard type music piece. .
