Method for adjusting the relative angular speed of two shafts and commutator for implementing this method The present invention relates to a method of adjustment of the angular speed relative of two shafts, in particular of two coaxial shafts, charac terized by the fact that the terminals on the DC side or the terminals on the AC side of the armature are supplied with a switch with a plane air gap axial, of which the armature and the inductor are respectively fixed to one and the other of said shafts, with a current whose voltage and / or intensity is a function of the signal collected at the terminals of that of the sides of the armature of the com mutator which is not supplied,
this signal being directly dependent on the relative angular speed of said shafts, and that said power supply is slaved to said signal so that this relative angular speed remains constant.
The invention also relates to to a commutator for implementing this method, characterized in that its armature is constituted by an insulating disc carrying a flat winding to lamellar conductors and that its inductor consists of at least one permanent magnet.
The accompanying drawings represent, by by way of example, an embodiment of the switch object of the present invention and a variant.
Fig. 1 is an elevational view in longitudinal section, FIG. 2 is a section along line 11-II of FIG. 1, FIG. 3 is a sectional elevation of the variant, FIG. 4 shows the diagram of a control installation.
In the drawing (fig. 1 and 2) is shown a commutator comprising two independent shafts 1 and 2 on which are respectively mounted an inductor 3, to < / B> permanent magnetization and an armature 4 formed by a thin flat disc. The outer part of these shafts is intended to to be connected to two rotating shafts, not shown, for which the relative angular speed is to be adjusted. The shafts 1 and 2 rotate respectively in bearings 5 and 6, mounted in flanges 7 and 8 in stamped and welded magneti sheet.
The assembly is arranged so as to permanently ensure the coincidence of the axes of rotation of the shafts 1 and 2, along a common geometric axis XY. In addition, shafts 1 and 2 are held in the desired relative axial position by means of a ball stop 13.
Two hubs 9 and 10, in plastic material, are wedged respectively on the shaft 1 and on the shaft 2. The hub 9 carries a piece 11 in soft magnetic material which serves as a support for the inductor 3. This is here a torus made of hard magnetic material which comprises a multipolar axial magnetization (fig. 2). A toroid 12, made of soft ferrite integral with the flange 8, and the part 11 serve to the closing of the inductive flux. Between the two toroids is the armature 4 which is integral with the hub 10 and shown here in the form of a single disc.
This one carries a flat winding, 4a, in a ring, produced with the aid of bare lamellar conductors ; such windings are well known, in particular by Swiss patents NI, 366323 and 363075, and will not be described in detail. These conductors extend on the two faces of the disc 4 and come into contact successively, during the rotation of the disc 4, those of one of the faces with brushes 14, and those of the other face with brushes 15.
The brushes 15, which constitute the sockets on the alternating side of the generator, are arranged in housings made in the neutral zones of the toroid 3. They are electrically and elastically connected with brushes 17 rubbing on two concentric conductive rings 18 and 19, mounted on an insulating collar 20, integral with the flange 7. The spring between the brushes 15 and 17 is indicated by 16. The brushes 14 which constitute the sockets continuous side of the generator, are arranged in housings made in the torus 12 and are held against the disc 4 by springs 28. Conductors 21 and 23, d 'on the one hand, 22 and 24, on the other hand, make it possible to connect said sockets to outside the machine.
The switch described makes it possible to adjust the relative angular speed of the rotating shafts 1 and 2 ; it is to this effect supplied with direct current thanks to to an accumulator battery E (fig. 4), arranged in series with a transistor F, by the conductors 22 and 24 connected to the carbons 14 rubbing on the armature 4 .
The speed is regulated by using, as tacho signal, the alternating voltage collected on the rings 18 and 19 by the conductors 21 and 23. </ B > This voltage is in fact rectified and opposed to a direct reference voltage supplied by an independent power source, adjustable by a potentiometer G, the whole being applied < B> to the base of transistor F to adjust the conductivity of its emitter-collector space and thus bring the supply current of the switch to the value corresponding to to < / B> the selected speed.
It is of course also possible to provide other similar arrangements, not shown, making it possible to compare with each other not only two voltages, but also two currents.
. It is possible, in other variants, to supply the commutator with an alternating voltage whose amplitude and / or frequency would be adjusted according to the amplitude of the direct signal collected on the conductors 22 and 24.
In the variant of FIG. 3, the shafts 25 and 26 carrying the inductor 3 and the armature 4 respectively are coaxial. The shaft 26, carrying the armature 4, is hollow. It has two hollow sleeves 27 to inside the oil reserve which serve as bearings to the shaft 25. This is still carried by a net pad 29 mounted in the flange 7 </ B > and the hollow shaft 26 is carried by a bearing 30 mounted in the flange 8. The other reference signs designate identical components to those of the embodiment shown in fig. 1.
The inductor 3 and the armature 4 of the switches described being located in planes perpendicular to the axis of rotation XY and having a relatively small axial bulk, the carriers -false compared to stages 5 and 6 are negligible. In addition, even if the shafts involved are not perfectly coaxial, the defect in centering of the rotating parts and the resulting lack of uniformity of the air gap are practically inconsequential for this type of commutator whose 'armature and inductor are at axial plane air gap.
Finally, it should be noted that the switches with plane airgap whose reinforcement is formed by a thin insulating disc carrying a flat winding with lamellar conductors have practically no reaction armature and that their voltage / speed characteristic is almost rectilinear, a highly desirable feature when it comes to detecting the speed of rotation with a view to regulating this speed.
