Description
Apparatus for treating liquids
The present invention relates to an apparatus for the treatment of liquids, characterized in that it has a container in which a rotatable disk acting as an atomizing organ, a wave transmitter and a tube for the liquid supply are arranged in such a way that an introduced liquid speed is atomized by the rotatable Seheibe, exposed in the form of a mist to the action of the wave transmitter and finally collected at the bottom of the container.
The enclosed drawing shows an example of an embodiment of the subject of the invention in a vertical section:
The apparatus has a cylindrical container 1 with a conical bottom la.
This floor has a pipe socket? provided, through which the liquid that penetrates into the container through the pipe 3 flows out again. The upper cover wall 1b of the loading container 1 has an opening 4 into which an irradiation device 5 for ultraviolet irradiations is installed. The bottom la has in its center a vertical tube 6 in which a shaft 9 driven by a belt 7 and driven by a Niotor 8 is rotatably mounted. The shaft 9 in question carries an atomizing disk 10. A liquid introduced into the container through the tube 3 reaches the center of the atomizing disk 10 and is broken up into a horizontal mist by centrifugal force when the latter rotates.
Any gases released in the process can be extracted as required. The mist can be subjected to ultraviolet radiation using the apparatus. Since the irradiation takes place with the finest distribution of the liquid, it is particularly intense. The condensed liquid reaches the bottom 1a and can be removed from the container through the pipe socket 2. Instead of the ultraviolet radiator 5, an infrared radiator or an ultrasonic transmitter could be installed; the ultrasound apparatus could also be arranged on the side wall of the container, namely approximately at the same height as the atomizing disc 10.
To avoid oxidation processes when processing the liquid, the container space can, for. B. filled with a gas such as argon or helium or nitrogen or carbonic acid and placed under slight overpressure. If necessary, however, a certain negative pressure could also be generated in the container.
Some application examples of the subject of the invention follow:
It is known that with certain fruit juices, such as. B. citrus juices, tomato juices, etc., ventilation in the interest of the ge tasty quality of the same is necessary. The present invention now enables this process with simultaneous homogenization with ultrasound. It is also known that young beer from the fermentation cellar still tastes inedible, since the young bouquet substances produced during fermentation are only expelled during storage. The carbonic acid generated during fermentation is the carrier of the young bouquet substances.
The device according to the invention can be used to remove carbonic acid and thus the unwanted young bouquet substances from the young beer by means of very fine atomization with simultaneous wave treatment.
By saturating the product with pure carbonic acid before bottling, the ripening process, which normally takes about three months, can be reduced to a few hours.
It is also known that, for. For example, the vitamin D content of milk can be increased by ultraviolet radiation, and that this treatment also kills bacteria. The device according to the invention can be used to atomize and fill milk, so that a homogenized, germ-free milk is obtained. With a device according to the invention, milk can first be subjected to ultraviolet radiation and then ultraviolet exposure.
During the ultrasound treatment, the larger microorganisms are sewn, while the ultraviolet rays attack the smaller microorganisms. The device according to the invention can also be used to make water biologically pure, and to refine wines, liqueurs and perfumes, that is to say age artificially, be it by using ultrasound waves or ultraviolet rays or both.
