Method for operating vehicle engines with exhaust gas supercharger and device for carrying out this method. The invention relates to a method for operating vehicle engines with a lbgasauflaciegebläse, the amount of fuel when the supercharger is switched on depending on the (4wheel of activation).
The degree to which the supercharger is switched on is generally dependent on the position of the power regulating element operated by the driver, the so-called accelerator pedal, in such a way that up to a certain position of the regulating element without:
air charge is driven and when this position is exceeded, the supercharger fan is switched on depending on whether the vehicle is exceeded and the amount of fuel is increased in accordance with the charge.
The charging fan, in particular an exhaust gas turbo fan, however, needs a certain time from the moment it is switched on to reach the operating speed ztt, while the fuel quantity is immediately set according to the charging mode. The consequence of this is that as long as the fan does not yet deliver the required amount of air, especially in the case of diesel engines, a. heavily smoking Aus Imff is present.
This smoking is a nuisance in road traffic. The incomplete combustion also has a disadvantageous effect on the ': engine, since, apart from the increased fuel consumption, the (' enrichment of the mixture in the cylinders produces carbon which is used for sanding contributes to the cylinder liners.
The purpose of the method according to the invention is to eliminate these disadvantages and consists in increasing the amount of fuel to the value corresponding to the degree of activation when the fan is suddenly switched on with a time delay. This time delay is expediently chosen so that the amount of fuel is approximately corresponding to the amount of air that becomes larger when the supercharger becomes more effective.
The invention also relates to a device for carrying out the above-mentioned method, wherein an organ for regulating the amount of fuel and the switching device for the fan can be actuated by a common power regulating element.
In accordance with the invention, the organ for regulating the amount of fuel is connected to the power regulating member by a spring mechanism, and a delay device is also provided, which initially holds back the said organ when the fan is suddenly switched on and then under the effect of the tension it sees Spring mechanism allows the amount of fuel to be increased with a time delay to the value corresponding to the degree of activation.
In the drawing, two exemplary embodiments of the device according to the invention are shown schematically, FIG. 1 showing the scheme of a device with only one-sided delay device and FIGS. 2 and 3 a partial diagram of a device with double-sided delay device in the two Show end positions. The method according to the invention is also explained, for example, on the basis of the exemplary embodiments.
In the device according to Fig.l is to the power regulator a (accelerator pedal) through the rod b via a spring mechanism c, the organ d to regulate the amount of fuel, for. B. a piston of a fuel pump e rotating rack, is closed. The spring mechanism c comprises a spring plate cl connected to the rod b, which is displaceable in a housing c connected to the organ d.
A pretensioned spring c @, surrounded by the housing c;, presses the spring plate cl against the bottom of the housing. The exhaust gas turbine .f switched into the outlet line g is coupled in a manner not shown with the fan part h switched into the inlet line i .
In front of the exhaust gas turbine, a l1e ehanismus k is provided which enables any part of the exhaust gases to be routed through a line 1, bypassing the exhaust gas turbine, to an exhaust muffler (possibly also directly into the open air) in order to change the degree of activation of the supercharger change.
The switching lever n for the mechanism is connected by a linkage o to a helical lever p, which is adjusted in the opposite direction by a nut q on the rod b against the action of a spring (not shown) and thereby the charging fan in turns on to an increasing degree when the power regulating member a is moved from a certain position A1 towards the position A.
A cooperating with the housing c. # Is the lever r. Connected via a linkage s with a piston u sliding in a cylinder t . The two sides of the piston u are arranged through a throttle line v, which deviates from the drawing in the piston. can be connected to each other. If the piston in cylinder t is moved from right to left (in the drawing), the medium (e.g. oil) displaced on the left side of the piston must flow through line v so that the piston only moves slowly. can be moved.
The two sides of the piston are also connected by a line w with less throttling and a check valve x, so that when the piston u moves from left to right, the medium can pass from the right to the left side of the piston almost unthrottled. A setting device y is provided in the linkage s, which enables the lever r to be adjusted. The throttle line i @ can be adjustable to regulate the throttling effect or provided with an exchangeable throttle opening.
The mode of operation of the locking mechanism shown is as follows: Let Aa be the idle position, 41 be the full load position of the accelerator pedal a when the charge fan is not switched on. In this position, on the one hand, the nut q rests on the lever p and, on the other hand, the housing c @ on the lever r.
If the accelerator pedal is suddenly moved from position Al against position A., the lever is. p pivoted counterclockwise by the nut q and thus the fan f the movement of the accelerator pedal a. accordingly switched on by moving the lever n against the position n '. The lever r holds against it. the case back first, there. the liquid. slowly through the cylinder t. the throttle line v can be displaced. The spring o. Is therefore stretched.
So while suddenly moving the accelerator from A1 to A @ the Einsehaltung of the supercharger he follows without delay, the organ d to regulate the amount of fuel can increase this due to the delay device only with a time delay to the value corresponding to the degree of activation.
The delay depends on the throttling in the throttle line v. For two purposes, the throttling is set in such a way that the displacement of the piston u from right to left into its end position requires as much time as the fan needs to reach the corresponding operating speed when it is suddenly fully switched on, so that the fuel quantity is approximately accordingly, when the fan becomes more effective, the air volume becomes greater.
The method according to the invention can preferably be used in vehicle diesel engines with exhaust gas turbo fans, but also in carburetor engines or gasoline injection engines. The fan could also be designed as a piston or capsule fan and have a special inlet line surrounding the fan, through which the machine can suck in the air when the fan is switched off.
The drive of the blower can take place directly through the exhaust gas turbine or, for example, through a transmission gear.
In Fig. \? and FIG. 3 schematically shows an embodiment in which the delay device is effective in both directions of movement. The housing c3 is seated for this purpose with a detent c, and a t "guide surface c; on which the free end of the lever r1 rests when the supercharger; is held in jus (Fig. 2).
In the housing c, two springs c.2 and c6 are arranged, which see support from opposite sides against the spring plate cl on the rod b. The springs cl> and c6 can be under tension, and means can be provided so that no spring can extend beyond the center of the container. The lever r1 is in the cylinder t1 through the linkage s1 with the piston u1 Connection.
Both sides of the piston are connected to one another by a throttle bore v1 in piston u1. A comparatively weak tension spring z1 tries to move the lever r1 clockwise.
The mode of action is. The following: In the position shown in FIG. 2, the lever r is pressed by the spring z1 against the sliding surface c5 on the housing c3. The piston z41. stands in its right end position. If the rod b is moved so far to the right that the housing c ;, butts against the free end of the lever r1, the latter enters the detent c ″.
If the rod b is suddenly moved into the right end position, the lever r1 holds the housing e3 back as a result of the throttle resistance in the throttle bore v1, so that the adjustment of the rod b initially causes the spring c2 to be tensioned. Under the pressure of this spring the lever rl. Zti slowly adjusted against the resistance of the piston until the piston has reached its left end position, as is shown in Fig. 3 represents.
If the rod b is suddenly moved to the left again, the spring c6 is initially tensioned as a result of the resistance at the lever r1, so that the lever r1 is exposed to a spring force acting to the left, which slowly moves the piston u t to the right. When the supercharger is switched off completely, the piston returns to its right end position, with the lever r1 coming out of the detent c "= again.
