Device on explosion engines for automatic regulation of the fuel supply. The present invention relates to a device on explosion engines for automatic regulation of the fuel supply and aims to achieve a uniform fuel-air mixture under all operating conditions.
According to the invention, the fuel intake pipe has at least one fuel inlet opening, as well as means to regulate the free cross section continuously over the entire range of rotation of the engine as a function of pressure.
The means for regulating the inlet cross-section expediently have a gel body that is influenced by a piston on which the pressure to be taken into account acts. The pressure to be taken into account can be that of the fuel-air mixture in front of or behind a throttle organ or the atmospheric air pressure.
An embodiment of the invention is the subject matter of the accompanying drawing in Figure 1 in section and schematically Darge provides; Fig. 2 is a detailed variant.
In the drawing, 1 denotes the Ge housing of a carburetor, not shown, for an explosion engine, 2 is the gas throttle valve, 2 'is the choke and 3 is an air funnel, in wel chen the fuel intake pipe 4 opens, and 5 is the fuel reservoir. The entry of the fuel into the intake pipe 4 takes place via nozzles 6, 7 and B. By means of the nozzle 6, a minimal amount of fuel is constantly fed to the engine, which amount can be changed by replacing this nozzle.
The free cross-section of the inlet opening of the nozzle 7 is influenced by a nozzle needle 9 which tapers conically downwards and which is fastened to a piston 10. The latter is under the influence of a spring 11 and the pressure of the air-fuel mixture in the air funnel 3 in front of the gas throttle valve 2. A channel 12 connects the space above the piston 10 with the interior of the air funnel 3.
The free cross-section of the inlet opening of the nozzle 8 is influenced by a nozzle needle 13 which is conically thickened downwards and which is attached to the piston 14. The piston 14 is influenced by a spring 15 and the mixture pressure after the throttle valve 2 by a channel 16 ver connecting the space above the piston 14 with the space after the gas throttle valve 2. The spaces below the pistons 10 and 14 are in communication with the atmosphere in a manner not shown.
The operation of the device is as follows: Due to the negative pressure after the gas throttle valve 2 is still closed, the piston 14 is pulled upwards and the nozzle, needle 13 closes the inlet opening of nozzle B. Now, with increasing opening, the throttle valve 2 takes the Pressure behind her and thus in the channel 16, the piston 14 is moved under the action of the spring 15 down and opens the fuel inlet to a corresponding extent.
If the engine comes up to higher revs len, so there is an increasing negative pressure in front of the throttle valve in the air funnel 3, which applies via the channel 12 in the space above the piston 10, the lift to the nozzle needle 9 causes and thereby the BEZW for higher revs. Maximum power of the engine allows additional fuel to flow through the nozzle 7 into the intake pipe 4.
This results in a stepless regulation over the entire range of rotation of the motor.
If you have a motor with the property of sucking in too rich a mixture at higher speeds, you could reverse the conicity of the needle 9 in its lower part.
In the variant shown in Fig. 2, a single piston 17 is present, wel cher is influenced on its upper side by the pressure in the channel 16 and on its lower side by the pressure in the channel 12 and, moreover, the springs 18 and 19 we ken . The nozzle needle 20, which regulates the fuel flow through the nozzle 21 in the manner described with reference to FIG. 1, is connected to the piston 17.
In addition to the pressure in front of and behind the throttle valve 2, the regulation could also be influenced by the atmospheric air pressure, which is important in the case of explosion engines for aircraft.
The pistons can also be arranged one above the other instead of next to one another; Depending on the local conditions, the piston can also be stationary and the cylinder closing the piston can be movable and connected to the nozzle needle. Furthermore, the pistons can also be replaced by membranes.
Instead of regulating the supply of a liquid fuel, the entry of a gaseous fuel into the fuel intake pipe could also be regulated in the same way.
The regulation device described can also be built as an additional unit for existing carburettors.
