Convector for heating systems. The invention relates to a convector for heating systems, which is formed from a tube occupied by lamellae, which can have any cross-section. With convectors of this type it was found that shorter convectors emit less heat per unit area than longer ones. This phenomenon was explained by marginal disturbances without it being clear what kind of marginal disturbance these were.
It has now been determined that the flow of warm air rising from the bottom to the top. Not. runs parallel to the slats, but above the slats on both sides. of the convector is deflected towards the middle. This crowding creates a stagnation above the convector, which reduces the air speed between the lamellas and thus also the output.
This also explains the well-known phenomenon that shorter convectors emit less heat per unit area than longer ones; because if one understands the longer convector as a series of short convectors, then it can be seen that the deflection of the warm air flow by the surrounding cold air occurs only on two end faces with the longer convector, while this deflection with a certain number of convectors, the together result in the area of the longer convector, is carried out on twice as large a number of end faces.
On the basis of this knowledge, a convector according to the invention is designed in such a way that at least the end slats are provided with extensions protruding beyond the other slats. Appropriately, these extensions of the end slats are releasably connected to these slats, for. B. releasably attached to the end plates. The extensions can also be made of similar parts that are arranged one above the other, releasably attached to one another and collectively on the end lamellas, and which can be provided in any number. The execution can also be made in such a way that the upper ends of the lamellas are gradually offset downwards from the ends of the convector towards its center.
In order to prevent disruptions in the flow of hot air at the endangered points from the front and rear, the vertical edges of the end lamellas together with the extensions can be provided with surfaces running in the longitudinal direction of the convector.
In the drawing, the subject matter of the invention is shown, for example, namely FIGS. 1 to 4 show, in perspective, different embodiments of the subject matter of the invention.
In all of the examples shown, it is a question of a convector, which is formed from a tube fitted with fins. In the embodiment according to FIG. only the end lamellas 2, 3 of the convector 1 are extended upwards.
The embodiment according to Figure 2 shows. a convector 1, in which the upper ends of the lamellas are gradually offset downward from the ends of the convector towards its center. The end lamellas 2, 3 are the highest, while the middle lamella 7 is the lowest.
3 shows an embodiment in which the end lamellae 4, 5, which have the same height as the other lamellae, parts 4 ', 5', are detachably attached, which extend the end lamellae 4, 5 upwards.
FIG. 4 shows a similar embodiment as FIG. 3.
In the embodiment according to FIG. 4, parts 4 ", 5" are also applied to the end lamellas 4, 5, which are provided with surfaces 6 extending in the longitudinal direction of the convector. The parts 4 'and 5' according to FIG. 3 or the parts 4 ", 5" according to FIG. 4 can also be provided in any number one above the other, as indicated by dash-dotted lines.
