In Fig. I sind solche Kennlinien beispielsweise dargestellt.
Fig. 3 stellt das gesamte Zumischgerät dar.
Device for fire extinguishing purposes for introducing foaming agents, wetting agents and the like into pipes carrying pressurized water.
The invention relates to a device for fire extinguishing purposes for introducing foam formers, wetting agents and the like into lines carrying pressurized water by means of a jet pump, which is used to regulate the pressure drop with a throttle arranged in an ambient line and influenced by the pressures upstream and downstream of the jet pump - organ is provided.
The amount of additional liquid sucked in by a conventional jet pump depends on the pressure gradient present at it or the ratio of the pressures upstream and downstream of the jet pump. This applies above all to the area of the jet pump characteristics which is favorable for practical use. Such characteristics are shown in FIG. The ordinate of the axis cross represents the amount of additional liquid sucked in as a percentage of the amount of pressurized water flowing through the jet pump in the g time unit. On the abscissa, in percentages, based on the pressure in front of the jet pump, is the pressure drop or the ratio of the Pressures applied behind and in front of the jet pump.
The jet pump begins to suck at a pressure drop of 20%. Up to a pressure gradient of 30 / a, the characteristic curves run in a straight line, whereby they practically coincide for all different pressures PI upstream of the jet pump. Within this range, the proportionate amount of additional liquid sucked in increases linearly with the proportionate pressure gradient, regardless of P1.
Then the characteristic curves bend to the horizontal, with a different branch of the curve applying for each pressure P1. In this area, the proportionate amount of additional liquid sucked in no longer depends on the pressure gradient, but only on the pressure P1 in front of the jet pump.
The aim is to have the jet pump operate in the range of the low pressure gradient as possible, since then the pressure still available behind it is as high as possible, and the pressure loss is therefore as low as possible. However, the steepness of the associated part of the characteristic curve means that even a slight change in the pressure gradient prevailing at the jet pump results in a strong shift in operating point A upwards or downwards, i.e. the proportion of the additional liquid sucked in differs the setpoint given, for example, with%.
The pressures in front of and behind the jet pump can fluctuate greatly under the conditions prevailing in fire-dissolving systems.
The pressure in front of the jet pump depends on the pressure generated by the pressurized water source and on the length of the pipeline from the same to the jet pump. The pressure behind the jet pump is also subject to strong fluctuations. This is particularly true when the mixture of pressurized water and additional liquid emerging from the jet pump is fed to an air foam jet pipe constructed in the manner of a jet air pump. Such an airfoil jet tube has one or more outlet nozzles with a certain overall cross section. As is known, only an amount of hydraulic fluid can pass through this which depends on the square root of the excess fluid pressure measured immediately before.
Conversely, a certain liquid pressure is established at the outlet nozzle or nozzles of the air foam jet pipe when a certain amount of pressure fluid flows through it.
It is now assumed that the water pressure immediately in front of the motive nozzle of a conventional jet pump has a certain value. Then only a certain amount of pressurized water can flow through the propulsion nozzle of the jet pump in the unit of time, since the pressurized water jet emerging from it into the suction chamber finds approximately the same pressure there. The amount of pressurized water thus fixed must, however, also flow through the exit cross section of the air-fringed jet pipe, so that, according to the above, the liquid pressure prevailing there is fixed.
A change in the flow resistance of the pipeline between the jet pump and the air foam jet pipe or the mutual elevation of the two parts can consequently only have the effect of changing the pressure present at the diffuser outlet of the jet pump. The consequence of this is a change in the ratio of these two pressures or the pressure gradient related to the pressure in front of the jet pump and thus also the proportion of the additional liquid sucked in because of the fixed pressure in front of the drive nozzle of the jet pump.
In order to avoid this inconvenience, jet pumps have already become known which have a bypass line provided with a control element. By changing the partial water flow flowing through this bypass line, the pressure gradient at the jet pump can be set to the correct value despite changes in the external operating conditions. The partial water flow flowing through the bypass line can be influenced by hand or by an automatically operating device.
In the devices that have already become known for introducing foaming agents etc. into pressurized water, the automatic setting of a certain proportioning ratio, i.e. a certain proportion of the additional liquid sucked in, with a changing flow rate in the bypass line, is used to regulate the pressure gradient at the The control element serving the jet pump is designed as a spring-loaded piston valve controlled by the pressure difference between the inlet and outlet of the jet pump.
In this known device, the two piston surfaces have the same size. With this device, however, it is only possible to maintain the correct pressure gradient automatically at a very specific pressure in front of the jet pump. If the pressure P1 changes its value, which cannot be avoided in practical application, the pressure gradient regulated by the device at the jet pump no longer maintains its correct value. Another shortcoming of this device is that it tends to produce visual oscillations which can lead to rapid destruction of the seat surfaces of the piston valve.
According to the invention, the frichti-c pressure gradient at the jet pump is produced in that the throttle element is exclusively under the influence of the pressures in front of and behind the jet pump, in such a way that the aim is to keep the ratio of these pressures constant at a selected value hold.
Alone with a device built according to this principle it is possible to adjust the pressure drop at the jet pump and thus the desired proportion of the liquid to be mixed, for example the hemorrhage, practically independently of the
Pressure PI to be adjusted automatically upstream of the jet pump.
The bypass line is preferably designed in such a way that the pressure drop along this line is negligibly small.
Exemplary embodiments of the invention are shown schematically in FIGS. 2 shows a throttle member controlled by a piston with two differently large effective areas.
3 shows the metering device with a jet pump and with a device for regulating the pressure gradient prevailing on it. In FIG. 4, a special type of sealing of the piston of the pressure gradient regulator according to FIG. 3 is explained in more detail. FIG. 5 shows a jet pump with a regulator in which the pressure gradient, which is set automatically, can be changed. Fig. 6 shows a jet pump with a regulator which has a main piston and an additional piston with corresponding surfaces. 7 likewise illustrates a pressure drop regulator with two effective surfaces, the additional surface, however, being formed by a membrane, the effective diameter of which can be changed.
8 illustrates a further pressure gradient regulator, in which the force acting on the additional surface and transmitted to the main surface can be changed by means of a lever mechanism.
A pressure gradient regulator with main and additional surfaces can also be seen from FIG. 9, in which the latter closes off a special space, the pressure of which is variable. 10 0 shows a jet pump with a pressure gradient regulator, in which the pressurized water flowing in the bypass line particularly influences the regulation to compensate for a control error. Figures 11 and 12 show similar devices, but each using different means. Finally, FIG. 13 shows a pressure gradient regulator in which the stroke of the movable part is limited.
All figures represent longitudinal sections except for FIG. 8a, which shows a view.
FIG. 2 is only intended to explain the mode of operation of a self-regulating Venturi nozzle. In the pipe piece 1 is fixedly arranged by ribs, a shaped body 9. This only has the purpose of forming a throttle point together with the displaceable piston 3. This is located on the rounded surface 4 of the piston 3. The pipe section 1 is held so far that the shaped body 2 does not yet cause any effective throttling in this pipe section.
The displaceable piston 3 is on the one hand exposed to the full line pressure with its small ring surface, which appears rounded, on the other hand it lies with an enlarged piston ring surface behind the throttle point 4 and is therefore only exposed to the low pressure. The piston ring area is inversely proportional to the pressure acting on it. Should the pressure drop become too large due to a sudden increase in water consumption, the greater pressure on the high pressure surface causes the piston 3 to shift so far to the right and thereby opens the annular gap at point 4 until the desired pressure drop is restored.
So there is no need to take any measures to maintain the desired pressure gradient even with different water flow rates.
Fig. 3 shows the entire admixing device.
In place of the molded body 2 in FIG. 2, the diffuser 5 of a jet pump, which lies axially in the housing tube 1, is used. The jet pump receives its operating water through the propellant nozzle 6. When water passes through the space 7, a suction effect occurs which sucks in the foaming agent from a storage vessel (not shown) via the control valve 8. In the diffuser 5 of the jet pump, a molded body 9 is encased, the purpose of which here is to enable a gradual transition of the process water.
The displaceable piston 3 is exposed to full water pressure on its left side. The reduced water pressure passes through the openings 10 to the larger piston area of the displaceable piston 3. Since leaks are to be expected when using a displaceable piston, the cavity 11 with the Connected atmosphere, so that any Siekerwasser can pass through the holes 12 into the open. The space 11 is therefore to be regarded as pressureless. The mode of operation of the displaceable piston corresponds to that of FIG. 2.
The arrangement is such that the operating water of the propellant nozzle 6 with the sucked in Sehaumbildner flows to the partial water flow at that point where it flows through the narrowest throttle point in the Venturi nozzle and thus has its greatest speed and its lowest pressure. The jet pump therefore only needs to work against a relatively low pressure.
If the leakage of Siekerwasser, which has to be taken in chewing when using flasks, is to be avoided, so-called bellows bodies of various sizes can be used instead. In Fig. 4 this type is shown.
With its smaller effective diameter, the bellows body 13 represents the smaller bulb surface, while the bellows body 14 with its larger effective diameter is exposed to the low pressure. The displaceable Venturi nozzle 3 can be made completely tight in this way, so that seepage water does not escape. Through the bores 10 and 15, the pressurized water can pass unhindered to the surface of the bellows.
In FIG. 5, 16 and 17 denote movable walls which are as smooth as possible and free of restoring forces, which are formed by pressure pistons and which could also be designed as membranes or bellows. The pressure in front of or behind the jet pump, which is transmitted by means of a special pressure line, acts on their surfaces. The piston forces corresponding to the product pressure times the piston area act on one of the levers 18 and 19, which are mounted in fixed points 20 and 21.
Between the two levers 18 and 19 is a stilt 22 which can be moved relative to the pivot points 20 and 21 by means of a viewing lever 23 and an adjusting spindle 24. A valve 25 of a throttle member 26 is connected in an articulated manner to an extension of the lever 2'3. The various positions of the valve 25 regulate the amount of pressurized water flowing through a bypass line 27, 38.
This partial flow is taken from a space 20 in front of the motive nozzle 6 of the jet pump and enters a counterpressure space 30 behind its diffuser 5, to which the further pressure line adjoins. The additional liquid is sucked in from a C-vessel 31 by means of a pipe 32 in which a check valve 33 is located.
The device according to Fig. 5 operates as follows:
Assuming that the effective areas of the two pressure pistons 16 and 17 are of the same size and the points of application of the piston forces are the same distance from points 20 and 21, the partial amount of water flowing through the bypass line 27, 28 is similar to that described above - change it until the pressure drop on the jet pump corresponds to the lever ratio b: a given by the position of the stilt 2 @.
If the stilt 22 is moved to the right or left by means of the visual rocker lever 23 and the spindle 24, the effective lever ratio b: a changes and thus the corresponding pressure gradient that is set. As long as one is working in the straight, steeply sloping part of the jet pump characteristic (Fig. 1), a certain amount of additional liquid sucked in belongs to every pressure gradient. It is therefore possible to indirectly determine the amount of additional liquid sucked in by setting a corresponding pressure gradient within the limits given by the characteristic curves.
In FIG. 6, the pressurized water flowing in the direction of the arrow enters the space 29 in front of the propulsion nozzle 6 of the jet pump. A subset of the same is fed to the interior of a housing 34 via line 27. It flows through its interior 35 and suffers a pressure drop between an annular throttle edge 36 of a throttle element formed by a poppet valve 37 and a flat surface 38 of the housing 34. The pressure in space 35, which apart from the slight pressure loss caused by the flow resistance in the Line 27 corresponds to the pressure in space 29, acts on the top,
and the reduced water pressure in space 39 after throttling on the underside of poppet valve 37, which thus forms a movable main wall.
The bypass water finally takes its way out of the space 39 through the pipeline 28, which connects to a lower housing part 40 in order to unite in the counterpressure space 30 with the mixture of additional liquid and pressurized water flowing out of the diffuser 5. The additional liquid is taken from a storage vessel in the usual way and fed to the suction chamber 7 of the jet pump via a backlash valve 33.
The water pressure prevailing in space 35 acts on a bellows body 41, the lower end of which is closed off by an intermediate piece 42 forming a movable additional wall and is firmly connected to the poppet valve 37. The upper end of the bellows body 41 is firmly connected to a housing cover 43.
The interior 44 of the bellows body 41 is connected to the atmosphere. The poppet valve 37 adjusts under the effect of the pressures acting on its upper and lower sides so that the ratio of the overpressures in front of and behind the jet pump corresponds to the ratio of the effective piston area of the poppet valve 37 to the same piston area minus the effective piston area of the bellows 41.
Fig. 7 shows a control device in which by means of a pull rod. 45 the force exerted by the pressure in the space 33 5 on a membrane 46 forming a movable additional wall is transmitted to the poppet valve 37 forming a movable main wall. In a cylindrical guide 47 of the cover 48, three concentric support rings 49, 50, 51 are slidably mounted, which with the aid of a device (not shown) can be pushed so far downward one after the other that the membrane 46 is gradually reduced in diameter prop up.
As a result, the effective area of the membrane 46 is gradually reduced, so that the additional force exerted on the poppet valve 37 also becomes smaller and smaller.
This creates a pressure gradient across the jet pump, which is also getting smaller and smaller. According to what has already been said, the provision, with the selection of a suitable diameter for the supporting edges of the supporting rings 49, 50, 51, allows the gradual adjustment of different pressure ratios and thus also proportionate amounts of additional liquid.
In FIGS. 8 and 8 a control device is shown in which the additional force acting on a poppet valve 37 can be continuously changed. For this purpose, the force of a bellows 41 acts by means of tendon bearing 52 on a lever 53 which transmits its force to the poppet valve 37 via a knife bearing 54. The right end 55 of the lever 53 is supported on a spirally wound sheath 56 (see FIG. 8a). The support of the tendon 56 is a plate 57 which can be adjusted by means of a spindle 59, which is pushed through a housing cover 58 in a pressure-tight manner, and a rotary knob 60 firmly connected to it.
A scale 61 attached to the rotary knob 60 with an associated index 62 on the housing cover 58 allows this setting to be made in a reproducible manner. When the rotary knob 60 is actuated, due to the spiral shape of the cutting edge 56, the distance of the support point of the right end 55 of the lever 53 from the cutting edge mounting 5'2, and thus the additional force transmitted from the bellows 41 to the poppet valve 37, changes.
As already described, the consequence is a change in the proportion of the added additional liquid. 9 shows a control device in which a pressure space 63 below a membrane 46 can be completely or partially closed off by a space 35 in which there is almost driving pressure. The membrane 46 is secured by a spindle 64 which has a channel 65, firmly connected to a poppet valve 37. The channel 65 communicates with the space 63 through a narrow bore 66. This, in turn, is connected to the space 315 through an adjustable throttle bore 67.
The effective opening of the throttle bore 67 can, as indicated, be set by means of a threaded spindle 68 which is passed through the housing 34 in a pressure-tight manner and which carries a pointer 70 playing in front of a scale 69. The passage of the spindle 64 through the housing bottom 71 does not need to be completely tight, since a small amount of water overflowing at this point is irrelevant.
The device works in such a way that, depending on the setting of the throttle bore 67 by means of the spindle 68, there is a pressure in the space 63 which is between the pressure in the space 35, i.e. almost the driving pressure, and the pressure behind the jet pump. The level of the pressure in the space 63 depends only on the ratio of the pressure drop in the bore 66 to that in the bore 67. Corresponding to what has been said above, this device also allows a setting of differently large pressure gradients on the jet pump and thus differently high proportions of additional liquid quantities.
In FIG. 10 the bypass line 27 opens into the high pressure chamber 35 of the pressure gradient regulator. The space 36 is closed on one side by a diaphragm 72 that forms a movable wall, and on the other side by a housing wall 73 which is formed as the seat 74 of a throttle valve.
A valve cone 75, which is firmly connected to a pull rod 76, works together with the seat 74. The water entering the space 35 from the line 27 flows onto an inclined surface 77 which is attached to a lever 78. The lever 78 is rotatable about a fixed point 79 and engages the pull rod 76 with its upper end.
A membrane 80, which closes off the low-pressure chamber 39 and forms a second movable wall and the area of which is larger by a certain amount than that of the membrane 72, is firmly connected to the tie rod 76. The ratio of the areas of the membranes 72 and 80 corresponds to the ratio of the pressures in the spaces 30 and 29 to be maintained.
The setup works as follows:
Coming from the space 9, part of the pressurized water flows through the space 35, the throttle valve 74, 75 and the space 319 and leaves this through the line 28.
When the amount of water passed by the jet pump and flowing through the line parts 27 and 28 increases, a pressure drop occurs in this which, as explained above, leads to the proportion. the sucked in additional liquid. If the amount of the amount exceeds the desired value, this effect is compensated for by the fact that the water flowing out of the line 27 generates a force acting closer to the deflection surface 77, which by means of the lever 78 is directed towards the left on the pull rod 76 is transmitted.
With a suitable dimensioning of the parts, the throttle member 74, 75 is opened further by such an amount that the ratio of the pressures in the margins 30 and 29 reaches its old value again.
11 shows a control device. in which the bypass water flowing out of the line 27 initially flows through a throttle gap formed between a poppet valve 37 and the surface 38 of the housing 34. The higher pressure acts on the poppet valve 37 from the left and the lower pressure from the right, which are the same as the pressure in front of and behind the jet pump as long as there is no flow through the bypass line. The poppet valve 37 is articulated to a two-armed lever 81 with a fixed pivot point 82. The upper end of the lever 81 is connected in an articulated manner to a spindle 83 which is fastened at its right end to an additional diaphragm 46.
The additional mem- brane 46 borders on the atmosphere on the right and on a separate room 63 on the left, through the bottom 71 of which the spindle 83 is passed in an almost pressure-tight manner. A line 2'8 leads from the space 39 into the space 30 behind the jet pump. The line 28 has a constriction 84, at the narrowest point of which a 3anal 85 branches off which opens into the space 63.
The arrangement works as follows:
As long as there is no flow through the bypass line, the full pressure of the space 29 in front of the jet pump acts on the poppet valve 37 from the left, and the full pressure of the space 30 behind the jet pump acts on the right. However, if there is flow through the bypass line, the flow resistance of the bypass line 27, 28 would set a falsified pressure ratio at its piston surfaces, and the throttle member 37, 38 would open less than it would be necessary to maintain the desired pressure ratio.
This error is compensated by the fact that at the narrowest point of the constriction 8 '! - a pressure reduction occurs during the flow, which is transferred to the space 63 via the channel 85 and leads to the additional force closing the gap between 36 and 37 is reduced and the gap 36, 37 is increasingly opened. Here, too, correct regulation of the pressure drop is the end result at the jet pump.
In FIG. 12, 27 represents a bypass line coming from the space 29, from which the pressurized water enters an annular space 36 of a housing 86. It then flows through bores 87 of an insert 88, the lower surface 89 of which forms the seat of a poppet valve 90 which forms a movable main wall. The poppet valve 90 has two annular throttle edges 91 and 92 and has bores 93 for the passage of the water that flows through the annular gap formed by the throttle edge 92 together with the surface 89.
In addition, the poppet valve 90 has a further annular throttle edge 94, which closes off the space 63 of the housing insert 88 in a downward direction. The poppet valve 90 is connected by means of the tension bolt 95 to the membrane 46 which closes off the space 63 at the top. In addition, there is a throttle bore 96 in the side wall of the space 63, which connects it to the pressure space 35. As before, the top of the membrane 46 is exposed to atmospheric oil pressure.
As explained in the description of FIG. 11, an additional force is exerted on the poppet valve 90 by the diaphragm 46 by means of the tension bolt 95, which counterbalances the otherwise predominant force exerted by the pressure in front of the jet pump, which strives to ' Open the poppet valve.
With this arrangement, a change in the pressure acting on the active surfaces, caused by the friction losses when flowing through the bypass line, which causes erroneous regulation, is compensated for by the fact that, as the stroke of the poppet valve 90 increases, the size of the between surfaces 89 and Throttle edge 9 formed outlet opening of the space 63 inevitably grows. Because of the throttling of the water entering the space 63 through the throttle bore 96, the pressure in the space 63 also decreases.
The consequence is again an increased opening of the throttle gaps 89, 91, 92 and a correct regulation.
The control device shown in FIG. 13 is similar in structure and mode of operation to that shown in FIG. With a housing 34 fixed. connected to the left of the center of a membrane 72 is a bearing 97 for a stop bolt 98, which can be moved by means of a threaded spindle 99 and a rotary knob 100 at different distances from a counter-stop 101 firmly connected to the membrane 72. If there is no water pressure in a room 39, the water pressure still present in a room 35 moves a pull rod 76 by means of the membrane 72 to the left until the counter stop 101 rests on the stop bolt 98.
The force acting to the left and originating from the pressure in space 35, which normally maintains the equilibrium of the force acting to the right caused by the pressure in space 39, is now absorbed by the threaded spindle 99, while without this the force is fully Large would have to be absorbed by two membranes 72 and 80, which would lead to their damage or destruction.
