Fig.2 zeigt den Verdampfer 4 im Verti- kalschnitt.
Evaporator for absorption refrigeration systems. The present invention is an evaporator for The invention aims to create an evaporator fer of the type mentioned, which has a relatively large evaporation area so as to allow virtually complete and rapid evaporation of the supplied refrigerant, z. B. ammonia to ensure.
The inventive evaporator has a housing, in the upper part of which a supply line for liquid refrigerant opens and. which mouth below said line has an evaporator chamber through which a gas supply pipe leads, the chamber containing means for creating a vapor surface from which represents a multiple of the wall area delimiting the chamber.
The means mentioned can be, for example, metal balls, pipe sections, springs, Raschig rings, metal chips or the like filling the chamber.
An embodiment example of the subject invention is shown in the accompanying drawing; 1 shows a schematic of an absorption refrigeration system and FIG. 2 shows, on a larger scale, a vertical axial section through the evaporator of the system according to FIG.
In FIG. 1, 1 denotes a digester which is used to convey the absorption solution and is provided in a known manner with a heating device 2, 3 a condenser, 4 an evaporator, 5 an absorber pipe coil and 6 an absorber vessel. The mode of operation of the refrigeration apparatus formed in this way is known and will therefore not be explained further.
2 shows the evaporator 4 in vertical section. The housing 7 of the evaporator 4 is cylindrical, but could also have a rectangular cross section. Two annular disks 9, 10 delimiting an evaporator chamber 8 are inserted into the housing 7 at a distance from one another. Both the inner edge and the outer edge of the annular disks 9, 10 are bent upwards = downwards.
The two annular disks are arranged in the housing 7 in such a way that a free housing space remains both above the disk 9 and below the disk 10. The annular disk 9 is also provided with a number of passage openings 11 and with an eccentrically located connection piece 12. In the connection piece 12 to the capacitor 3 (Fig.1) connected supply pipe 13 is attached for the liquid refrigerant.
The tube 13 leads through the evaporator chamber 8 and leaves the evaporator through an opening in its side wall, while the mouth end of the tube 13 protrudes into the upper free housing space of the evaporator, ie above the chamber 8. The vertical pipe part 14a of a gas supply pipe 14 protrudes centrally through the evaporator chamber 8 and the center openings of the annular disks 9 and 10.
This vertical pipe part 14a has a number of wall openings 15 for the passage of the inert gas, e.g. B. hydrogen. The end of the tubular part 14a protruding into the upper free housing space is closed off by a cover having a central opening 16.
The horizontal part of the tube 14 protrudes across the lower housing space of the Ver evaporator and a jacket pipe 17 ruled out to the latter and leads to the absorber vessel 6 (Fig.1). The jacket pipe 17, which is connected to a line 17 'for the return of the gas mixture into the absorber vessel 6, is located with its lowest part slightly higher than the bottom of the housing 7, so that any liquid refrigerant that may collect here can evaporate.
As Figure 2 shows, the vaporizer chamber 8 is filled with balls 18, suitably made of metal: It goes without saying that metal chips, pipe sections, Raschig rings, screw springs and the like can also be provided in place of the balls 18. As a result of the arrangement of the balls 18 in the evaporator chamber 8 from a vapor surface is created, which represents a multiple of the wall surface bounding the chamber 8 and thus ensures effective vaporization.
