Cold pipe bending machine. The present invention relates to a machine for bending cold tubes, following successive bends and in planes making any angles between them, my chine comprising a pushing device moving a pressure pad, side pads adjustable in height. spacing,
their axes being maintained in three chosen from among those arranged symmetrically with respect to the axis of movement of the presser pad, drilled in two horizontal flanges and facing each other in pairs, two flanges being connected and maintained at a fixed distance. fixed part of the pressure pad pushing device, one of these flanges being fixed and the other articulated in its connection with said fixed part,
machine characterized in that the holes in the two flanges are between them at constant intervals from axis to axis and that the upper flange slides in a transverse guide formed in the front central part of the articulated connecting device, at its rear , with the fixed part of the pushing device, the sliding of the upper flange in this guide allowing,
while keeping the journals of the same bearing in eoaxiality and 7th correct placement of the net lateral bearings by engagement in the symmetrical holes chosen in the lower flange, to reduce to a minimum the protrusion, outside the side bearing concerned, of the upper sliding flange, which allows the installation of the tube to be bent already comprising at least one bend preceding the one to be formed and to have the plane of this bend with the appropriate orientation with respect to the horizontal plane:
of which will be formed the new elbow between the three pads.
The appended drawing represents, by way of example, an embodiment of the machine which is the subject of the invention.
Fig: 1 shows a bender with hydraulic control by hand pump with its upper sliding flange raised for the installation of a pipe already bent.
Fig. 2 shows the same bender, the upper flange folded back and fully pulled to allow bending immediately following a previous bending of the pipe, this bender being arranged in the desired planes.
In these figures, 1 is the body of a hydraulic jack actuated by a lever 2 and the piston rod of which 3 carries a pressure bearing 4.
A lower fixed flange 5y resting on the ground, is connected to the body of the jack 1 by a bracket 6 which is articulated, for example, in the head 7 of the jack, the bracket 6 being welded to the flange 5.
This flange 5 is provided with holes 8 regularly spaced between them and arranged symmetrically with respect to the axial plane of the ma-. chine, perpendicular to the upper plane of the flange. In a groove 9, â the front of the flange 5, there is arranged, in two symmetrical halves, a graduation 11 serving to identify the holes suitable for the placement of the journals 12 of the movable side bearings 13, according to the diameter of the pipe 14 to be bent and the radius of the elbow to be obtained.
On 2a head 7 of the jack is articulated, by hooking into a part 15 with a cylindrical bottom, a straight part 16 on which is articulated a bracket 17, terminated by a transverse part 18 provided with slides 19 in which slides freely the upper flange 21.
This flange 21 is pierced, over its entire length, with holes 22 having the same spacing between them, which still allows, even after sliding to the right or to the left of this flange 21 through the slides 19, to be placed facing face, coaxial after folding, a hole 22 and a hole 8 in which the journals 12 of the bearings 13 are held.
The graduations 11 have allowed, before folding, the correct and symmetrical placement of the bearings and, remaining visible after folding back the flange 21, the control of this placement before starting the bending.
The flange 21 could be slid in such a way that, the pipe 14 already carrying an elbow at 23, the latter is as close as possible to the elbow to be formed and oriented with the desired angle with respect to it. The raising of the flange 21 allows easy installation of the pipe 14 and a convenient check of the elbow obtained.
As a variant, the graduations 11 could be carried on plates fixed in the groove 9 or even on a simple extension towards the front of the flange 5, without groove 9. These graduations could be carried directly in the groove 9, engraved or raised on the front of the flange 5, the main thing being their visibility during the installation of the side pads 13 and after, even the upper flange folded before the bending.
The slides 19 could be closed if the width thereof is smaller than the minimum distance of the journals 12 so as not to interfere with the folding in the case of the bend of the smallest radius provided.
Finally, the hydraulic cylinder could be replaced by a screw jack.
