Ejector device for a machine used to get rid of their waste from cut sheets of paper. It is known practice to eject cut waste from sheets of paper (or cardboard) by planting needles therein intended, by their displacement in a path different from that of the cut paper, to remove these waste and then to abandon them in passing between the teeth of the combs.
Such needles have already been used, placed on rotating bodies and cooperating with also rotating counterparts, presenting more or less wide grooves, into which the needles penetrate when they get stuck in the waste. Often, small waste in particular, was thus folded in half and pushed back into said grooves, rather than being pierced by the needle and detached by the latter.
The object of the invention is an ejector device for a machine serving to rid cut sheets of paper of their waste, a device which eliminates the drawback mentioned by the fact that it comprises e, ejector members established in pairs, each pair having a needle and a die having an opening capable of covering the tip of the needle and. delimited by an edge the width of which nowhere exceeds the diameter of the entry of said opening, as well as means for fixing said members on an element. of the device intended to train them.
The attached drawing shows one embodiment of the object of the invention, given by way of example.
Fig. 7. represents an ejector member consisting of a needle.
Fig. 2 represents another ejector member constituted by a matrix.
Fig. 3 is a radial half-section of a disc intended to carry needles or dies, the left half corresponding to section .1-1 and 1a. right half at section B-B in fig. 4, which is a partial view of this disc showing how to attach a needle to it. The fi-. 5 finally illustrates the removal of a dehet.
The device shown comprises ejector members established in pairs. Each pair has a needle shown in fig. 1 and a matrix shown in fig.- 2. The needle shown in fig. 1 consists of a conical point 1, behind which are successively a neck 2 of diameter smaller than the base of the point, to which it is connected by widening, then a square block 3, to which the neck is . also connected by flaring and finally a small threaded cylinder 4.
This thread allows the fixing of the needle, and the square the use of a corresponding key. The matrix of FIG. 2 consists, for its part, of a cylindrical body 5 ending at the rear with a hexagon and a small one. threaded cylinder 6, to. the opposite of which said body has the entry of a conical orifice first cylindrical, then conical 7.
The thread is also a means of fixing, while the hexagon allows the use of a key.
The relative dimensions of these two storms are such that the die is able to cap the needle with relatively little play. The edge 8, delimiting the entrance to the or-; -erture 7 in the cylindrical part of the body, also nowhere. a width exceeding the largest diameter of the hole. In the matrix shown, this width is even less than the radius of the latter.
The fi-. 5 shows how a pair of ejector or- gees like those one comes. to describe allows the ejection of waste.
ru waste being partially shown in section at 9, it suffices to make it bear against the die which is also seen in section on the right and. insert the needle into the latter, through the waste. which, thus punctured, becomes prisoner of the needle jtLsqu'au neck 2 of which the. matrix pushes him away. This, in fact, completely covers the point of the needle.
Considering the little space or play remaining between the matrix and the needle all around the latter, even the smallest waste will be punctured and cannot. be embedded in the matrix.
Seen, on the other hand, that the surface 8 by which the matrix bears against the waste is. very small, this surface will seldom overlap the latter, so that in the case of freshly printed jobs, the matrix will not come into contact with fresh ink, and any smudging will be avoided.
The insertion of the needle into the matrix in reality generally cannot be carried out as nariaitement as shown in the figure. 5, for the reason that these two bodies do not generally interpenetrate axially, but are carried by cylinders or rotating discs which make them meet and mesh in a way like the teeth of toothed wheels.
It suffices for this to slightly flare the angle of the cone of the orifice of the die by providing for example 40 to 50 for the cone of the needle and 50 to 70 for that of the orifice of the die. This in no way modifies the advantages just listed.
The threads 4 and 6 of the ejector or-anes which we have just described, and which will be. always used in pairs, are used to fix them on a part of the device intended to train them. For this, it suffices that said element px @ eseiite the corresponding threads.
In the embodiment shown, fixing means make it possible to immobilize them in double T grooves by giving them. thus great flexibility in adjusting their respective positions as a function of the position of the waste to be ejected.
The fia. 3 and 4 illustrate. this provision. On an elindre 10, grooved to receive a key 1.1, est. mounted -The disc in three parts, a central body 12, a screw 13 fixed to the cylinder in cooperation with the key, and two identical flanges and. opposed 14.
The profile of these parts is such that they serve between the body and each flange a double T groove designated by 15.
The fixing of a needle (or a matrix) then takes place as it results from the examination of the right half of FIGS. 3 and 4.
For this, we add to each needle (respectively, to each die) a plate, a stud and a fixing screw. The plate is shown as 16. It is intended to be placed in the outer wide part of the double T and is groove. breakthrough in my way. be able to receive the needle (or the matrix) and. the flooded head of a screw.
For fixing a needle 17, the. pla quette has an internal thread for its threaded portion 4 and a housing. for either square 3, of diameter such that it is possible to introduce a barrel tightening key therein. Thus, only the collar and the. tip of the needle emerge. plate 16.
The screw 18, with a countersunk head, passes through the plate to be screwed into a stud 19 placed in the. wide inner part of the groove in double T.
It is. easy to realize that an o-1i, -uille completed with a plate, a stud and <the screw intended to connect these parts together, can be placed and immobilized in such place as one wishes of a circular groove in duplicate T of an element. machine. cylinder or disc, of adequate profile.
Of the plate and the stud, the first at least will be. key preferably curved, as shown, to the radius of the machine element intended to support it.
The plate for fixing a template will only have a threaded hole intended to receive the threaded part 6 of the. die, the hexagonal body 5 of which will emerge from said plate.
The ejector members of the device described, with their additional fixing means, have the advantage, when a plate and a stud are fitted in the right place for the work to be done, of being able to be unscrewed, screwed back and. replaced in case of breakage, without changing anything in this adjustment, given the insert and the stud can remain in place independently. of the. presence of the needle 011 of the matrix.
